KEELHAULED
Formados en 2004 bajo el nombre de Battleheart, tras sacar dos EP's con dicha denominación despertando grandes expectativas, consiguen firmar con la discográfica Napalm Records, con la "condición" de cambiar de nombre a la banda ya que a juicio de la discográfica se parecía demasiado al nombre de la banda Battlelore, también en ese mismo sello. Deciden así cambiar su nombre por Alestorm en 2007, comenzando a editar material de estudio bajo dicho nombre en 2008. Desde entonces, y hasta la fecha de esta reseña, 4 discos de estudio y un EP dan forma a la historia de este buen grupo caracterizado por su temática pirata. Vamos hoy con su segundo larga duración, "Black sails at midnight", de 2009, un disco que era una confirmación a los trabajos previos que habían realizado, su primer LP, "Captain Morgan's Revenge", de 2008, y el EP "Leviathan" de ese mismo año. Con este "Black sails at midnight" demuestran que han venido para quedarse y engrandecer el nicho musical poco frecuentado del Power metal con temática pirata abierto por los maestros alemanes Running Wild. Se iban haciendo nombre Alestorm, lo que les lleva a girar por Norteamérica con TYR y Suidakra, (casi nada), en el "Pagan Knight's Tour", que en Europa harían cin TYR, Heidevolk y Adorned Brood. En ese mismo 2009 tocan en el "Paganfest" europeo y en el "Heathenfest" estadounidense. Ya en 2010, Australia, y Europa vuelven a rendirse a sus pies junto con bandas de la talla de Finntroll, Eluveitie o Sabaton. Es evidente que habían tomado el planeta con su metal pirata y su nombre desde entonces subió enteros entre los amantes del género, y no es para menos pues este disco, "Black sails at midnight" es todo un discazo con temas tan alucinantes como "No Quarter", que ya hemos dejado en el blog, "Leviathan", "Black sails at midnight", y en general todo el álbum, del que quiero hoy dejar en el blog otro temazo, "Keelhauled", del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.
