A  TAINTED  DOMINION

Dieciseis son ya los LP's de estudio que los germanos Suidakra han dejado para sus fans, dieciseis si incluimos la última de ellas que verá la luz de forma oficial el siete de noviembre. La banda cuenta ya con una trayectoria larga a sus espaldas, (desde 1994) siendo una de las primeras bandas en desarrollar ese sonido death melódico con tintes folk nórdicos, y son un grupo que ha sido absolutamente fiel a su propuesta a lo largo de sus obras. Hoy dejo en el blog uno de los adelantos de la nueva obra "Darkanakrad", concretamente "A tainted dominion" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Suidakra - Resurgence

 

RESURGENCE

Mirando la historia de esta banda alemana nos damos cuenta que estamos ante la definición misma del concepto de constancia, ya que el periodo más largo que han dejado entre disco y disco no ha superado los tres años lo que justifica los quince LP's de estudio que componen su discografía. El decimo quinto de esos disco se edita este 2021, concretamente saldrá a la venta de forma oficial el día 25 de este mes de junio, de título "Wolfbite", y de él nos van llegando los primeros ecos en forma del single "Resurgence", con todos los ingredientes de la banda, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

BENEATH  THE  RED  EAGLE

Otro de esos grupos a los que retornar asiduamente es "Suidakra", estos alemanes con su ya más que importante trayectoria que muestra 14 LP's de estudio en más de dos décadas de historia, (desde 1994). Como ya es conocido su sonido se centra en un death melódico, con tintes folk celticos y una lírica épico histórica, uno de esos grupos del subgénero que hace una propuesta seria, contundente y fiel, uno de esos grupos que nunca defrauda a sus seguidores y que sorprende a muchos que no les han dado la ocasión desde sus primeras escuchas. Desde luego hay mucho donde escoger repasando su discografía y hoy quiero repetir con su "Eternal Defiance" de 2013, undécimo LP cronológicamente hablando y una de sus obras predilectas para mí, y de ella hoy dejo en el blog su temazo "Beneath the red eagle", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

PICTISH  PRIDE

Segundo tema de adelanto del inminente duodécimo album de estudio de esta genial banda alemana.  Suidakra editan "Realms of Odork" que se espera para el día 20 de mayo del presente 2016, y a juzgar por los temas de adelanto yo aún espero con más expectación su salida, y es que realmente Suidakra es una de esas bandas en el panorama internacional de la que siempre se puede esperar algo bueno sin miedo a ser defraudado. Este disco será ya el decimosegundo, como decía más arriba, de los alemanes con su concepto death folk melódico y con ese toqué épico. Con clara influencia céltica no dudan en incluir elementos folk como gaitas, flautas etc para terminar de dar forma a su sonido, siendo uno de los grupos con mayúsculas dentro del género y uno de los que más me agradan. La banda se forma en 1994, bajo el nombre de Gloryfication, y así sacan una demo llamada XIII.  Arkadius Antonik, alma mater del grupo, se encargaba por aquella época de las voces, guitarras y teclados, y de los miembros originales del grupo es el único que permanece aún en la banda hoy en día. En 1995 cambian su nombre a Suidakra, que curiosamente es el nombre de Arkadius dado la vuelta. Como decía al inicio en vista del sonido de este tema promete la obra seguir en la buena linea de la carrera del grupo, toda una garantía para los amantes de este tipo de sonido. THE IXth LEGION


Volvemos en el blog a uno de los maestros, en mi humilde opinión, del death-black melodic folk metal, los alemanes Suidakra, para hablar en esta ocasión sobre su disco "Caledonia". Este grupazo alemán con un largo ya recorrido que está repleto de momentos épicos y otros puramente instrumentales que hace que cada disco que escuchamos de ellos este enriquecido con montones de matices en un marco de death metal melódico. Con clara influencia céltica no dudan en incluir elementos folk como gaitas, flautas etc para terminar de dar forma a su sonido, siendo uno de los grupos con mayúsculas dentro del género y uno de los que más me agradan. La banda se forma en 1994, bajo el nombre de Gloryfication, y así sacan una demo llamada XIII.  Arkadius Antonik, alma mater del grupo, se encargaba por aquella época de las voces, guitarras y teclados, y de los miembros originales del grupo es el único que permanece aún en la banda hoy en día. En 1995 cambian su nombre a Suidakra, que curiosamente es el nombre de Arkadius dado la vuelta. Desde 1995 en que sacan su demo, han realizado 11 discos de estudio y un EP. Hoy quiero referirme a su octavo disco de estudio, Caledonia, de 2006, una obra que centra sus líricas y su concepto en la Roma conquistadora, en concreto en su incursión a Escocia, (Caledonia como la llamaban los romanos), y sobre una visión desde el punto de vista de los conquistados, Los Pictos, y la traumática interacción entre ambos pueblos. Un discazo con todos los elementos del grupo, recomendable como obra en su conjunto y de la que hoy quiero dejar en el blog la canción "The IXth Legion", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

STILL THE PIPES ARE CALLING

Grupazo Alemán que hace un extraordinario Melodic Death Metal con toques épicos y bastantes momentos instrumentales aproximandose en muchas ocasiones al llamado viking metal en melodia e incluso temática. Con clara influencia céltica no dudan en incluir elementos folk como gaitas, flautas etc para terminar de dar forma a su sonido, siendo uno de los grupos con mayúsculas dentro del género y uno de los que más me agradan. La banda se forma en 1994, bajo el nombre de Gloryfication, y así sacan una demo llamada XIII.  Arkadius Antonik, alma mater del grupo, se encargaba por aquella época de las voces, guitarras y teclados, y de los miembros originales del grupo es el único que permanece aún en la banda hoy en día. En 1995 cambian su nombre a Suidakra, que curiosamente es el nombre de Arkadius dado la vuelta. Desde 1995 en que sacan su demo, han realizado 11 discos de estudio y un EP. Hoy quiero referirme a la quinta obra de estudio de la banda, "Emprise to Avalon", del año 2002, uno de sus discos que más me gustan en su conjunto, con todas las señas de identidad de la banda, algo que abandonarían a partir del siguiene disco para sus dos siguientes obras, haciendo un melodic death metal sin tanto elemento folk, retomando la senda de sus raices a partir del octavo disco "Caledonia". De su "Emprise to avalon" muchos temas a destacar, siemdo como antes decía uno de sus mejores discos en conjunto a mi humilde entender.
