THE  BEAST  FROM  THE  BLACKNESS

Iron Fire ya lleva apareciendo en varias ocasiones en el blog y las que vendrán, desde luego merecidamente, desde su demoledor y espectacular debut "Thunderstorm" dejaron claro que lo suyo era hacer su sonido personal, propio, que han sabido perpetuar e ir afilando obra tras obra, y ya van 9 en más de veinticinco años de carrera. La quinta de sus obras, "To the grave", de 2009, no es una excepción en el universo personal power de la banda, de corte europeo, con muchos de los argumentos que una obra de este subgénero debería tener siempre si existiera un manual de como hacerlo, calidad incuetionable que domina la obra en su conjunto, desde el tema que la abre por ejemplo, "The beast from the blackness" de la que hoy dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Iron Fire - Dawn Of Victory

 

DAWN  OF  VICTORY

Buen ejemplo de muchas cosas de esas que se repiten en bandas de este estilo es la carrera de los daneses  Iron Fire, buen ejemplo de banda que ha ido realizando una consistente carrera, ya de casi tres décadas, con 9 LP's a sus espaldas, buen ejemplo de grupo que ha demostrado mucho más de lo necesario para haber alcanzado mayores cotas de éxito pero a estas añturas aún no reconocido en toda su valía, quien sabe si por la saturación de la escena en el momento de su debut, o por desarrollar su carrera al calor compositivo del subgénero power tan denostado por muchos, sobre todo de cara a la galería, como si fuese un subgénero de menos categoría. Otro ejemplo que aquí se cumple es la temática, fantástica, o histórica, con espadas como protagonistas, algo asociado por muchos también a esa idea "poco seria", que ha metido en el mismo saco a bandas buenas y malas por igual, algo absolutamente injusto. Pero más allá de todo esto, la propuesta presentada por Iron Fire siempre mostró la calidad por encima de todo y este cuarto LP de la banda "Blade of triumph" de 2007 es buen ejemplo de ello, un album del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog la canción "Dawn of victory", muy "Iron Fire", y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube. Power metal de corte europeo, y qué, muchos de los que más se supone que lo critican son de los que muchas veces más lo consumen en su intimidad.

INTO  THE  ABYSS

Con Iron Fire, la banda danesa, me sucede eso que me pasa en algunas ocasiones con ciertas bandas, una sensación de grupo que por una parte no ha llegado a cosechar todo el reconocimiento y éxito que la calidad de, por ejemplo su debut, mereció, y que por otra parte ha tenido la tenacidad de mantenerse contra viento y marea activos en una escena internacional tan saturada y sin dar su brazo a torcer, habiendo ya creado una respetable discografía de 9 LP's de estudio de un power que en los últimos tiempos ha evolucionado con la demanda de la escena internacional del power. Los inicios sin embargo, eran más fieles al sentir del power de corte europeo afin a la época, con ese aire un pelín más acelerado marca de la casa. Producido por Tommy Hansen, la segunda de las obras de los daneses de título "On the edge" de 2001, a mi entender no alcanza el descomunal nivelón del debut "Thunderstorm" del año anterior, pero si parecía ir apuntalando una carrera que apuntaba bien alto, algo que a la postre no llegaría a cumplirse, al menos en lo que a reconocimiento general se refiere. De este citado "On the edge" quiero hoy dejar en el blog una de sus canciones, en concreto "Into the abyss", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Iron Fire - Warriors Of Steel

WARRIORS  OF  STEEL

Un ejemplo más del magnífico trabajo que supuso el debut de esta banda danesa, "Iron Fire" de los que ya he hablado en el blog en alguna ocasión, y refiriendome además a este disco que considero seguramente el mejor de su discografía. La verdad es que la orientación compositiva de la banda ha ido cambiando, de una manera más acusada en la parte final de su carrera que se extiende ya por más más de veinte años, (desde 1995). Como decía su debut "Thunderstorm" data de 2000, y en esta obra encontramos el sonido típico de la época dentro del power metal de orientación europea, con una temática nórdico-viquinga, como no podía ser de otra manera dado el origen del grupo, y que como decía de la obra se trata de un disco que recomiendo en su conjunto, una gran obra de la que hoy dejo el tema "Warriors of steel", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Iron Fire - Iron Eagle

IRON  EAGLE

Nueva obra de los daneses "Iron Fire", recientemente salida a mediados de septiembre. Se trata de un disco que reune gran parte de los rasgos de la banda a pesar de que últimamente hayan variado un poco en la concepción de su sonido sobre todo comparándola con la de sus primeras obras y más concretamente de la primera de ellas, "Thunderstorm" que es por cierto la que más me gusta. Es sin embargo indudable que estos tíos saben lo que se hacen y que siempre se encuentra en sus obras algún tema destacable haciendo en general obras completas y de calidad. Este "Among the dead" constituye ya su octavo disco de estudio, y se ve esa evolución mejor quizá que en ninguna de sus obras anteriores,  hacia un sonido diferente, menos power fantástico posiblemente y más heavy metal-power con una mayor incidencia en dar importancia a los riffs de guitarra, sea como sea, la obra al menos merece un par de escuchas porque seguro que algo "rascarás de él". Hoy quiero dejar a modo de ejemplo de lo que digo uno de los temas que constituyen este "Among the dead", concretamente "Iron Eagle", del que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

THUNDERSTORM

Iron Fire son una banda danesa y se forman en 1995 bajo el nombre de Misery, una banda que comenzó sus días haciendo versiones y tocando en la escena underground. En ese mismo año de 1995 se cambian el nombre a "Decades of Darkness" para seguir haciendo versiones. Los creadores de la banda fueron el cantante Martin Steene y el guitarrista Kristian Iversen, quien dejaría la banda tras su primer disco. En 1998 y ya bajo el nombre de Iron Fire comienzan a sacar material propio y en 2000 sacan su  primer LP. Desde entonces tiene editados 7 discos de estudio de un power metal de corte clásico y europeo. Con su power - speed metal de temática fantástico - épica, Iron Fire comenzaron en esa época de explendor power metalero de finales de los 90, donde bandas como Hammerfall, Freedom Call, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Nocturnal Rites o Sonata Arctica dictaban las normas a seguir, y a ese carro se querían subir estos daneses, con una gran dosis de ilusión respaldada por un buen hacer musical que les lleva a fichar por "Noise Records" para editar su disco debut, "Thunderstorm", del año 2000, una declaración de intenciones facturado bajo la mano técnica del productor "Tommy Hansen" cuyo nombre va unido a grandes bandas y discos legendarios, demasiadas y demasiados para citarlos en esta reseña, baste un ejemplo para hablar de la grandeza de este técnico de sonido, tuteló la grabación de los dos Keepers de Helloween, casi nada. Las espectativas estaban pues en todo lo alto, y el disco es un gran debut, aunque realmente nunca tuvo la repercusión esperada, algo que se ha repetido a lo largo de la carrera de la banda, aunque desde luego nada tiene que ver con la calidad, baste con escuchar su discografía para corroborar lo que digo, y como ejemplo quiero hoy dejar en el blog otra una canción de este debut del grupo, con el tema homónimo al título de la obra "Thunderstorm",canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Una banda desde Dinamarca para hoy con su power - speed metal de temática fantástico - épica. Iron Fire se forman en 1995 bajo el nombre de Misery, una banda que comenzó sus días haciendo versiones y tocando en la escena underground. En ese mismo año de 1995 se cambian el nombre a Decades of Darkness para seguir haciendo versiones. Los creadores de la banda fueron el cantante Martin Steene y el guitarrista Kristian Iversen, quien dejaría la banda tras su primer disco. En 1998 y ya bajo el nombre de Iron Fire comienzan a sacar material propio y en 2000 sacan su  primer LP. Desde entonces tiene editados 7 discos de estudio de un power metal de corte clásico y europeo. Desde luego estos daneses no han inventado nada nuevo pero entre su discografía encontramos buenos temas como este Kill For Metal, un tema que nos enseña el potencial de la banda, muy facil de escuchar, un tiro de canción que se mete a la primera en tu mente, sacado de su quinto disco, To the grave, de 2009.
