Destinados ya a encabezar cualquier festival o gira, los alemanes Powerwolf dejan en este 2024 su décimo LP de estudio en una carrera que no para de ascender, y es que dos décadas haciendo bien las cosas tienen este tipo de consecuencias, así, "Wake up the wicked" está de nuevo llena de himnos, temas de esos que se meten en tu cabeza y recreas continuamente, y algunas canciones que están destinadas a permanecer en sus setlists en vivo en adelante como es el caso de este "Sinners of the seven seas" del que hoy dejo en el blog un enlace a youtube.

Los alemanes Powerwolf están ya listos con su siguiente LP de estudio, "Wake up the wicked" que saldrá a la venta en el mes de julio. Está claro que siempre apoyados en su calidad y capacidad para llegar a las masas, Powerwolf es una máquina de hacer dinero dentro de los límites que una música minoritaria como la nuestra permite, pero al hilo de esto ya editarán varias versiones en varios formatos con temas extra y cajas especiales de la obra. El primer single es este 1589 que basado en una historia real de dicho año narra las andanzas de un supuesto hombre lobo que terminó siendo ajusticiado, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial, que por cierto dice su discográfica Napalm Records que se trata de su mayor producción de clip hasta la fecha.

Los germanos Powerwolf siguen a lo suyo, muy adaptados a la forma moderna de venderse, esa continuidad total de mostrar novedades, vendiendolas perfectamente en formatos conocidos o novedosos, en esta época en que las cosas son tan volátiles, permanecer en la retina del gran público de manera asidua se antoja casi fundamental, y en este 2023 bajo el nombre de "Interludium" editarán una nueva obra en formato LP pero con seis temas nuevos completados con rarezas del toda su carrera. En estos días lanzan uno de los seis temas nuevos en el anzuelo, para tratar de pescar ventas, "No prayer at midnight" en formato "Powerwolf", sinónimo de éxito como demuestran sus grandes datos de ventas de entradas en sus shows en vivo a nivel planetario. Canciones para una vida - Powerwolf - Poison

 

POISON

Siempre parece ir de la mano el hecho del crecimiento de un grupo a niveles máximos, con el hecho de empezar a editar material que quizá de otra manera no se hubiese realizado, recopilatorios, discos en vivo, discos de versiones propias y ajenas, o singles aparentemente pertenecientes a ninguna obra como es el caso que hoy nos ocupa. Se trata del single de la canción "Poison", tema original de Alice Cooper, que los alemanes Powerwolf han aprovechado a versionar con la excusa del cumpleaños del artísta. Podemos ver la reflexión inicial de esta reseña como algo casi negativo, desde una perspectiva esclusivamente recaudatoria, o podemos hacerlo desde la oportunidad de tener más material adicional de un grupo de calidad, máxime en esta ocasión cuando el tema en cuestión tiene el nivel compositivo y contrastado de uno de esos temas fundamentales, como es "Poison". Seguro que cada uno tendremos nuestro propio enfoque, el caso es que el tema ha saildo de forma oficial hace un par de días y de él dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube. Un clásico.

MY  WILL  BE  DONE

Parece cada vez más común que las bandas mantengan un contacto casi continuo con sus fans a través de material publicado en un formato diferente al de un LP standard, variadas fórmulas de supervivencia en un mercado quizá demasiado saturado como para confiar en la fidelidad del gran público sin dar un plus cada poco tiempo. Powerwolf se suma a esa ola, tratando de innovar como en el caso de su "The Monument Mass a cinematic event" de 2021 que no deja de ser un disco en directo en streaming, o en una onda más clásica como el lanzamiento de un tema nuevo en formato single acompañado por dos versiones extra del mismo, orquestal e instrumental. El tema en cuestión se titula "My will be done" y de él dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial, marketing y buen sonido "made in Powerwolf" de la mano, que tampoco tiene por qué estar peleado.

Con este tema de la pandemia se ha generalizado el hecho de que las bandas intenten mantener el contacto directo con los fans a través de singles entre albumes, al igual que han acortando los tiempos entre discos, como una tendencia natural imagino por la situación de no poder presentar su música en vivo, lo que con giras y demás resta también tiempo a las bandas para componer futuras obras. El hecho es que los alemanes "Powerwolf" se suman a la tendencia editando un single de forma digital de una canción nueva apenas un año desde la salida de su anterior LP. FASTER  THAN  THE  FLAME

Nuevamente el décimo y último LP de los alemanes Powerwolf que ha salido de forma oficial a la venta ayer día 16 de julio.Desde luego, mirando su perfectamente diseñada promoción, no solo de este último trabajo, sino de casi toda su carrera, nos encontramos ante uno de esos grupos unidos a las ventas, a encabezar festivales y llenar en sus conciertos, pero, ese tipo de cuestiones, siempre deben ir acompañadas de la calidad, y este caso es uno de ellos, la calidad de Powerwolf es innegable, sobre todo vista desde la perspectiva del amante del sonido power de corte europeo, habiendo alcanzado una identidad propia en estos más de quince años de carrera. Este "Call of the wild" de 2021 cumple a rajatabla todo lo expesto anteriormente, desde lo promocional con innumerables singles, hasta la edición de lujo con tres cd's, incluyendo la versión orquestada y un cd con temas anteriores interpretados junto con artistas renombrados. Pero claro, su capacidad de ventas, como digo, va de la mano de la calidad, buen ejemplo es el tema que abre la obra, "Faster than the flame" de la que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

Como una máquina promocional, la banda alemana Powerwolf va desgranando su nuevo material poco a poco con el apoyo de una de las grandes discográficas como es Napalm Records, aderezando los singles nuevos con temas viejos en vivo, colaboraciones y demás, EP's especiales colaborativos mostrando ese potencial de ventas que ya lleva siendo mucho tiempo esta buena banda. KISS  OF  THE  COBRA  KING

En este momento de inminente salida (aún hay que esperar al 9 de julio) del que será décimo LP de estudio de los alemanes Powerwolf, y que se titulará "Call of the wild", parece que a uno le entran más ganas de repasar la discografía pasada de la banda mientras la espera del nuevo material se hace larga. Y al hacerlo se da uno cuenta de la magnitud de la banda que ha ido en crecimiento constante desde los inicios de su periplo en la escena musical allá por 2004. Hoy quiero rescatar uno de los temas que han ido regrabando, y que perteneció inicialmente a su debut "Return in bloodred" de 2005, como digo regrabado en 2019 en forma de single. Se trata de su "Kiss of the cobra king" uno de esos temas que muestra la capacidad de editar temas directos y de los que rapidamente se instalan en tu cabeza para perdurar allí para siempre, canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Este año es también el escogido por los alemanes "Powerwolf" para editar material nuevo de estudio, otra de esas bandas que mueven el interes de una legión de seguidores y cuyo sonido ha alcanzado una identidad propia reconocida, reconocible e imitada. La nueva obra se titula "Call of the wild", décimo LP del grupo, y saldra a la venta de forma oficial el 9 de julio de este 2021 y de ella, a juzgar por el sonido de su adelanto, "Beast of Gevaudan" se confirma una vez más el camino escogido por la banda en sus último LP's  Dejo un enlace a youtube de este primer single "Beast Of Gevaudan".

VENOM  OF  VENUS

Vamos con otra de esas bandas que aún tenía pendiente traer al blog, una de esas fundamentales dentro del subgénero power por la importancia de su trayectoria y la aceptación general que han cosechado. Hablamos de los alemanes "Powerwolf", una  banda que a pesar de la perpetuación en su concepto compositivo siempre logra arrancar el lado más positivo de dicha costumbre, algo que no resulta fácil sin cosechar multitud de críticas. Formados en 2004 han editado a lo largo de su carrera un total de nueve LP's de estudio y tres EP's conformando ya una importante discografía a sus espaldas. Además, y muy en consonancia con todo lo anteriormente citado, muestran una envidiable consistencia en su formación habiendo tenido muy pocos cambios de miembros en la misma, lo que suele ser casi siempre sinónimo de algo bueno o positivo. En estos días están saliendo noticias de lo bien que va la grabación del que será su décimo LP de estudio que se espera para este 2021. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una canción de su ante penúltimo LP de estudio, "The sacramente of sin" de 2018, en concreto la canción "Venom of Venus", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.
