Canciones para una vida - Evertale - Dragonriders

 

DRAGONRIDERS

Otra banda a la que le tocaría ya dar noticias compositivas mirando su trayectoria y el tiempo que suelen tomarse entre cada una de ellas son los alemanes "Evertale", con ese aura que en muchas ocasiones intentan recrear el estilo de sus compatriotas "Blind Guardian", algo realmente dificil de imitar bien. Su carrera comienza en 2006 bajo el nombre de Evertale, aunque desde 1997 lo hacían como "Blackened" editando en 2003 un único LP. Desde 2006 y su cambio de nombre tan solo dos LP's adornan su discografía, quizá demasiado escasa, en 2013 su debut "Of dragons and elves" y en 2017 su segundo LP "The great brotherwar". Es por esa progresión por lo que parecería factible que este 2021 hubiesen dado señales de vida compositiva o que lo puedan hacer en el inminente ya 2022, veremos. Igualmente, tras su más que prometedor debut de 2013, esperaba yo más de su segundo disco que me defraudó un poco. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otro de los temas que componen su "Of dragons and elves" de 2013, concretamente el bonus track "Dragonriders", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Evertale - And The Dragons Return

AND  THE  DRAGONS  RETURN

Volviendo a esta segunda obra de la banda alemana "Evertale", a la que ya me he referido en algunas ocasiones en el blog, quiero hoy destacar otra de las canciones de este "The great brotherwar", de 2017, un disco que a medida que voy escuchando más veces voy sacando un mejor regustillo en general. Sigo pensando que me hace más gracia su debut aunque es justo reconocer igualmente que en este segundo esfuerzo se nota un asentamiento y una cierta madurez compositiva, algo que debería ser lógico por otra parte, en la carrera de todo músico en general. Siempre sigue quedando esa sensación de "imitación" a la escuela "Blind Guardianesca", algo que se hace más patente si cabe en el apartado de los coros. Desde luego esta segunda obra resulta ser una confirmación de que lo de esta banda va en serio y que su meta parece inalterada en lo que al concepto musical se refiere. Así pues un power metal de escuela europea, con grandes dosis de épica y melodía recorre a lo largo y ancho la obra que gustará a aquellos que ya disfrutaron su debut "Of dragons and elves" allá por el año 2013. Como digo hoy quiero destacar otro de los temas que más me han gustado del disco, concretamente "And the dragons return", cuya letra versa sobre el mundo fantástico del videojuego épico "Skyrim" y su protagonista Dovakin el caza dragones, un tema que en lo musical, como antes decía, trae inevitablemente reminiscencias de los maestros "Blind Guardian", una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Evertale - Chapter 666 (We Are The Hammer)

CHAPTER  666  (WE  ARE  THE  HAMMER)

Segunda obra de los alemanes Evertale, un disco que he estado esperando con ganas desde la salida de su debut en 2013, el fantástico "Of dragons and elves". Quizá por esa gran espectativa que había puesto en la nueva obra me haya decepcionado un poco, si bien, y para ser justos aún le debo más escuchas al disco. Este "The great brotherwar" me ha parecido un disco en el que el sonido de la banda resulta demasiado plano quizá, no destaca ni varía mucho resultandome un tanto monótono, eso sí, calidad sonora e interpretativa les sobra a estos chicos, es en esta ocasión una cuestión más de composición. Realmente siguen los pasos de su anterior obra que si me pareció fresca y que mostraba un potencial que sin duda el grupo tiene. Una vez más un concepto "Blindguardianesco" sobre vuela toda la obra resultando evidente el influjo que sus compatriotas han ejercido sobre "Evretale". He echado además de menos una pieza lenta - épica tipo "Of dragons and elves" de su primera obra, canción hiper "A past and future secret" de Blind Guardian que en esta ocasión no adornaba la nueva obra. En fin, el caso es que más allá de mis espectativas también encontramos temas que llaman la atención, como este "Chapter 666 (we are the hammer)", segundo single del disco en una onda muy power europeo del que dejo un enlace a youtube a su clip oficial.
