Alestorm - The Storm

THE  STORM 

Si hablabamos ayer de una banda cuyo inicio no presagiaba una carrera excepcional, hoy podemos decir lo mismo de la banda que nos ocupa, los escoceses Alestorm. Si que es cierto que su sonido resultaba ser quizá más acorde al actual desde el comienzo respecto a lo dicho referente a los italianos Wind Rose con su propio inicio, sin embargo, los mimbres de la banda (Alestorm), así a priori nunca me hubiesen hecho jurar que resultarían tan exitosos e imitables, abriendo escuela. En este 2025 el grupo ha publicado ya el octavo LP de estudio desde su formación en 2007, y sabiendo lo que el publico les demanda ellos simplemente se lo dan. Amorphis - Fog To Fog

FOG  TO  FOG 

Poco que añadir al propio nombre de Amorphis, ya se ha dicho todo y ellos ya lo hacen con cada nueva obra de estudio que no hace sino agrandar su leyenda entre propios y extraños que dejan de serlo para la banda a poco que le presten atención a su material. Siempre la calidad por estandarte, siempre el buen gusto compositivo, la fuerza y la melodía a partes iguales, con un punto de necesidad de atención a través del lado progresivo que insinúan, unos auténticos maestros que se conocen perfectamente y simplemente llevan a cabo su plan. Havamal - The Shaman

THE  SHAMAN 

Vamos hoy con un poco de death melódico "ensiferico" en la figura de la banda sueca Havamal, un grupo formado en 2016 que en este 2025 publicará su tercer LP de estudio "Age of the gods" tras un silencio largo que se extiende a antes de la pandemia, y al que en este año ponen fin. Sarayasign - One Last Cry

ONE  LAST  CRY 

Si hay que buscar la elegancia por defecto sin duda alguna en una de las escenas internacionales que deberíamos recalar en primer lugar debería ser en la sueca, una aparentemente interminable cantera de bandas con una aparente facilidad innata para crear música de calidad. Hoy traigo al blog a los suecos Sarayasign, que cumplen con creces lo expuesto, formados en 2020, han comenzado su carrera con fuerza e ilusión a juzgar por contar ya con tres obras de estudio en estos cinco años de vida si incluimos su último trabajo "Shadows of the dying light" que verá la luz de manera oficial el último día de este mes de octubre. Los suecos Arch Enemy siguen creciendo como banda, o quizá sea mejor decir como fenómeno musical, su nivel compositivo está fuera de toda duda, pero además, la dimensión mediática alcanzada en los últimos años en gran parte gracias a su cantante Alissa White Gluz les ha llevado al siguiente nivel, ahora todo lo que hacen, cada nuevo movimiento suyo suscita las miradas de medio planeta metálico, y eso se cuida al detalle programando cada uno de esos movimientos, así, en este 2025 editaron su décimo tercer LP de estudio "Blood Dynasty" del que se dejó fuera alguna canción que ahora se promociona aparte como es este "Break The spell", tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Human Fortress - The Abyss Of Our Soul

Los alemanes Human Fortress están de vuelta tras un largo silencio de más de cinco años desde la salida de su anterior disco de estudio (2019), por lo que este 2025 será testigo de la publicación de su séptimo LP, "Stronghold" (17 de Octubre). Esta es sin duda otra de esas bandas que merece mejor suerte, mayor reconocimiento, lo han demostrado muchas veces a lo largo de su ya larga carrera (desde 1999), pero les ha penalizado sin duda la falta de continuidad, siete LP's en tan largo periodo se antoja algo escaso para alcanzar mayores cotas de éxito. Trick Or Treat - Return To Monkey Island

RETURN  TO  MONKEY  ISLAND 

Los italianos Trick Or treat son una banda atipicamente italiana, ya he dicho en el blog en alguna ocasión que su sonido se asemeja mucho más a la escuela sueca o germana que al típico sonido transalpino, y además es un grupo que va poco a poco haciendose con una discografía ya nada desdeñable. Formados en 2002 como una banda tributo a Helloween, pronto se dieron cuenta que se quedaban muy cortos haciendo solo versiones de otros, y a medida que pasaban las obras y encontraban su sitio el grupo fue ganando reconocimiento y calidad. En este 2025 han editado ya su octavo LP de estudio, "Ghosted" del que quiero dejar hoy en el blog su tema "Return to monkey island" en el que colabora Chris Bowes de Alestorm, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Aeternia - Dragon's Gaze - Canciones Para Una Vida

DRAGON'S  GAZE 

Aeternia es una banda alemana de reciente formación que plantea un sonido a medio camino del heavy metal y el power, una propuesta con la que sin duda no van a inventar nada nuevo, de hecho ya casi todo está inventado, pero en la que muestran un sendero que comienzan en formato LP en este 2025 a través de su debut "Into the golden halls", cuya salida oficial se espera para mediados de octubre. Outworld . Crown Of The Abyss - Canciones Para Una Vida

CROWN  OF  THE  ABYSS 

Sigue adelante la carrera de la banda uruguaya Outworld, un proyecto de un solo músico que se encarga de todo, un yo me lo guiso y yo me lo como que solo en los tiempos que corren, con la tecnología de su lado puede realmente llegar a ser real, un anhelo que muchos músicos décadas atrás hubiesen soñado y dificilmente podido realizar. El caso es que la banda va adquiriendo una identidad propia, resulta reconocible su propuesta y en no pocas veces eficaz. Heavy metal de corte clásico, con reminiscencias heavy power desde canadá encarnado en la banda Lycanthro, un grupo proveniente de las cenizas de Death Wish que se forma en 2014 y que en 2016 cambian su nombre a Lycanthro, bajo el que han decidido desarrollar su carrera de momento hasta nuestros días y de momento también con dos LP's de estudio publicados, (2021 y 2025), adoptando como imagen corporativa a los hombres lobo y la temática general de sus canciones referente al mundo de la literatura de terror. Bloodbound - Defenders Of Jerusalem - Canciones Para Una Vida

DEFENDERS  OF  JERUSALEM 

Con cada nueva obra de estos suecos me sucede lo mismo, es esa sensación de que imperceptiblemente han ido creciendo como banda, casi sin darse cuenta han desarrollado ya una larga carrera con 11 LP's en dos décadas, en su marco sonoro de europower, buscando una identidad propia que lentamente han ido alcanzando, sin inventar nada nuevo pero su punto fuerte parece residir en la constancia, son como esa gota que va cayendo y solo con la insistencia llega a ser una corriente de agua. Los germanos Equilibrium actualmente poco o nada tienen que ver con los equilibrium iniciales, la propuesta musical ha cambiado completamente hasta el punto de que casi deberían considerarse como dos bandas distintas, además también en cuanto a miembros que la forman, quedando solo uno de los que comenzaron la andadura del grupo desde el inicio. Rodeados de polémica por esto, el grupo sin embargo sigue adelante, y en los últimos años nutriendose de singles sueltos que muestren que siguen con vida a los interesados en seguir su deriva. En este 2025 publican el single "Bloodwood" del que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube.
