Bloodbound - Defenders Of Jerusalem - Canciones Para Una Vida

DEFENDERS  OF  JERUSALEM 

Con cada nueva obra de estos suecos me sucede lo mismo, es esa sensación de que imperceptiblemente han ido creciendo como banda, casi sin darse cuenta han desarrollado ya una larga carrera con 11 LP's en dos décadas, en su marco sonoro de europower, buscando una identidad propia que lentamente han ido alcanzando, sin inventar nada nuevo pero su punto fuerte parece residir en la constancia, son como esa gota que va cayendo y solo con la insistencia llega a ser una corriente de agua. El undécimo album de estudio de Bloodbound, "Field of swords" verá la luz de forma oficial a finales de noviembre de este 2025, y hoy dejo en el blog el adelanto "Defenders of Jerusalem" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

DRINK  WITH  THE  GODS

Otra de esas bandas super promocionadas, (casualmente también del sello AFM), actualmente son los suecos Bloodbound, un grupo que ha pasado de hacer al inicio de su carrera un power más anónimo, aunque quizá con más sello propio, a un power super lustroso, facil de vender, que se puede diluir en el sonido de varios grupos punteros, creando un coctel perfecto para disparar temas directos, de esos que van a tu cabeza sin mayor dificultad. Ya van por su décimo LP, y en este sentido de banda de ventas parecen ir en aumento obra tras obra.  Tercer adelanto del nuevo LP de estudio de los suecos Bloodbound, "Tales from the north" de salida oficial en el próximo mes de Julio. El nuevo tema, "1066" no hace sino confir mar lo dicho en otras ocasiones en este blog, ha encontrado un nicho sonoro que les va como un guante, sin resultar innovadores, pero si cumpliendo casi a rajatabla los cliches que sobre todo años atrás hicieron grande el subgénero del power, más concretamente del euro power, lo que hará las delicias de los amantes de este sonido. dejo un enlace a youtube de este "1066".

THE  RAVEN'S  CRY

Otro adelanto más de los suecos "Bloodbound", que no hace sino confirmarlo todo, un sonido que se ciñe completamente a los cliches del euro power, una tendencia sonora obra tras obra que les hace muy asequibles a los consumidores de este tipo de sonido, una fórmula que parece que están destinados a explotar por el buen resultado que les da. El segundo adelanto se llama "The raven's cry" y de él dejo hoy en enlace a youtube de su video oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Bloodbound - Odin's Prayer

 

ODIN'S  PRAYER

Bloodbound va paso a paso agrandando su nombre dentro del mundillo power, y es que si echamos una mirada atrás nos damos cuenta de que son ya más de quince años de carrera, casi veinte y este "Tales from the north" que verá la luz de forma oficial el próximo mes de julio supondrá ya para el grupo su décimo album de estudio. Está claro que han ido afinando su sonido, adecuandolo a estandard europeo que más llega al gran público, en ocasiones incluso clonando un poco su forma de hacer canciones a la de bandas ya gigantescas como Sabaton por ejemplo. En este "Tales from the north" de 2023 nos enseñan un album conceptual, nórdico, vikingo, muy sueco, con incluso elementos folk según afirman. De momento han presentado su primer sencillo, "Odin's Prayer" del que hoy dejo en el blog un enlace a youtube de su lyric video oficial.

GATHERING  OF  SOULS

Está muy claro, por la deriva compositiva de las últimas obras de esta banda sueca que están muy a gusto con ese aire "Sabatoniano" que adquiere su sonido, algo que por otra parte no tiene por que ser malo en si mismo, quizá solo desde la perspectiva de en cierto modo perder tu propia identidad como banda, pero siempre hay que mirar a los mejores si se quiere crecer, y Sabaton sin duda lo son. Es igualmente de justicia, mencionar que la banda lleva ya tiempo suficiente en esas intenciones y su sonido es ya reconocible así, aunque siga siendo inevitable mencionar a Sabaton al escuchar material nuevo de ellos. Un buen ejemplo ilustrativo de lo que digo es este tema, "Gathering of souls", de su octavo LP de estudio "Creatures of the dark realm" del presente 2021, canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

CREATURES  OF  THE  DARK  REALM

Segundo adelanto de la nueva obra de los suecos "Bloodbound" y segunda confirmación de que la senda que en su día escogió la banda para componer su música sigue siendo la misma, y que poco a poco, apoyados en su mayor aceptación progresiva en la escena internacional van dando más en el blaco de las ventas de sus obras. Hablamos de ese euro power, tan marca de la escena sueca y nórdica, pero sueca, sinónimo por costumbre de calidad. Canciones para una vida - Bloodbound - When Fate Is Calling

 

WHEN  FATE  IS  CALLING

Primeros ecos del nuevo trabajo de los suecos "Bloodbound", el que supondrá su noveno LP de estudio desde su formación en 2004. Siempre se ha decantado esta banda por un power de corte europeo, muy sueco, notandoseles la influecia tradicional de su escuela para delicia de los seguidores del subgénero, y a juzgar por lo escuchado en la primera de las canciones adelanto siguen con ese concepto intacto. Con estos suecos ocurre eso de saber a que va a sonar su obra antes de haberla escuchado, algo que como digo siempre puede uno tomarselo por el lado positivo o negativo pudiendo verse como una virtud o como un defecto, pero lo cierto es que este grupo va poco a poco afianzandose en la escena internacional y este parece ser un paso más en el camino que emprendieron hace ya casi dos décadas. Esta primera canción de adelanto se titula "When fate is calling" y pertenecerá al album titulado "Creatures of the dark realm" cuya salida se espera para comienzos de mayo, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

BLOODHEADS  UNITED

Los suecos "Bloodbound" se suman a la fórmula de promoción - venta, editando una canción nueva junto con cuatro temas en vivo para engrosar su discografía. De título, "Bloodheads united" estamos ante la perpetuación de la senda que parece que les ha hecho encontrar su sonido un tanto clónico al que es santo y seña de sus compatriotas Sabaton. En esta ocasión el diseño ha sido perfecto, con un tema totalmente coreable y compuesto para su presentación en directo y que mejor que hacerlo con cuatro temas más en ese formato, a través de este EP con nombre, (facilmente deducuble) del tema nuevo de estudio. Poco más que añadir, single en toda regla de esta banda que sigue sumando seguidores poco a poco y creandose una más que considerable discografía 100% para amantes del género power de corte europeo. RISE  OF  THE  DRAGON  EMPIRE

Segundo adelanto del octavo LP de la banda sueca "Bloodbound", canción que da nombre a la obra, "Rise of the dragon empire", cuya salida se espera para el próximo 20 de marzo de esta 2019. Esta canción no es sino una confirmación de las aspiraciones de la banda, algo que vienen refrendando obra tras obra, por alzarse como unos de los mayores ejemplos de power metal de manual, con todo lo bueno y malo que pueda tener dicha afirmación, pues es evidente que cliché tras cliché, todo lo esperado se cumple sin duda, para disfrute de todo amante del género y que al tiempo servirá como argumento para todos los detractores de este tipo de sonido. Canciones para una vida - Bloodbound - Slayer Of Kings

SLAYER  OF  KINGS

El 20 de marzo es la fecha escogida por los suecos "Bloodbound" para sacar a la venta el que será ya su octavo álbum de estudio, "Rise of the dragon empire". 15 años han pasado desde la formación del grupo, allá por 2004, y, aunque siempre han estado enmarcados en el estilo power de corte europeo, a medida que van sacando material van si cabe reforzando más y más ese cliché, tanto en lo estético como en lo compositivo o en las temáticas. Particularmente en las dos últimas obras, han centrado sus esfuerzos temáticos en una de esas figuras tan recurrentes dentro del subgénero como son los dragones, reclamo casi instantáneo para el amante puro del power noventero y de los 2000. Dentro de lo que se refiere a este último disco aún por salir, como decía más arriba, hoy quiero dejar en el blog el primero de los adelantos del mismo, la canción "Slayer of kings", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Bloodbound - Guardians Of Heaven's Gate

GUARDIANS  OF  HEAVEN'S  GATE

Hay grupos que, por uno u otro motivo, no llegan a tener el mismo reconocimiento que otras que si que lo llegan a alcanzar, a pesar de hacer las cosas igual de bien o en ocasiones incluso mejor. A esas bandas en muchas ocasiones tan solo les queda la baza de la insistencia, del buen hacer y el tesón de saber que son fieles a sus ideas, y poco a poco el reconocimiento termina por ir llegando, aunque claro, en ocasiones demasiado tarde. Hoy vuelvo a traer al blog a una de esas bandas, "Bloodbound", y su último LP publicado "War of dragons", del pasado 2017.  Siempre comparados, siempre acusados de fijarse demasiado en otras bandas, muchas veces compatriotas de ellos, (grupos suecos), sin embargo, si tomamos su sonido objetivamente no podemos negar, nadie, su calidad innegable. Este séptimo y hasta la fecha de esta reseña, último trabajo de la banda muestra como ninguno un asentamiento que les pone al nivel altísimo que poseen, calidad compositiva e interpretativa, incluyendo una producción excelente. Canciones para una vida - Bloodbound - Silver Wings

SILVER  WINGS

De nuevo quiero referirme en el blog a la séptima obra de la banda sueca Bloodbound, un disco del que ya aconsejé su primer adelanto "battle in the sky", sin haber aún escuchado por completo toda la obra y que, ahora, bien madurado el disco debo decir que en general ha confirmado todo lo que sospechaba sobre lo que la obra podría llegar a ofrecer. En general se aprecia una madurez compositiva en el grupo que, por otra parte, no puede negar su origen y la escuela sueca aflora por completo, y por ello me parece algo bastante digamos natural que el sonido sea parecido a bandas compatriotas suyas, aunque se aprecie un progresivo acercamiento al sonido de Sabaton obra tras obra que le va alejando un poco del concepto más "Hammerfalliano" que presentaba en los inicios la banda. Ese "sabatonamiento" es particularmente evidente a la hora de afrontar los coros en esta obra así como el acompañamiento con los teclados, algo que ha levantado muchas (demasiadas quizá) críticas hacia el presente disco, En general nos encontramos ante una de esas obras de fácil escucha, un tanto monótona si se quiere ponerle un pero aunque eso sí, de excelente factura en lo técnico y de una fácil escucha que puede correr uno el riesgo de igualmente cansarse demasiado deprisa del disco si es que lo "machacas" demasiado. En general pues una obra de power europeo que hará las delicias de los amantes del género y de la que hoy quiero destacar el tema que probablemente más me haya gustado del disco, "Silver wings", de engache automático y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

BATTLE  IN  THE  SKY

Nuevo disco de la buena banda de power sueca Bloodbound, del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog su primer adelanto, "Battle in the sky". Esta obra a la que hoy me quiero referir, "War of dragons", que verá la luz de forma oficial este próximo 24 de febrero, supone ya el séptimo LP en la carrera de estos suecos, una carrera que comenzó allá por 2004 y que ha dejado ya capítulos notables y un cierto ya nombre a nivel internacional. En muchas ocasiones se les ha acusado de sonar a otras bandas de renombre, tales como Hammerfall, y mucho me temo que ahora, a juzgar por el sonido de su adelanto, las comparaciones irán hacia la banda Sabaton, a la que por otra parte indudablemente suenan. Más allá de todo esto, lo que es indudable es la calidad del grupo, y a pesar de indudablemente no haber inventado nada nuevo si que encontramos continuos guiños al power metal europeo de finales de la década de los 90 y comienzos de la de 2000, con una producción pulcra y cuidada del siglo XXI. Ya he hablado de ellos en este blog,y de esta obra incluso y como ya dije, Bloodbound se formó en 2004 y hace un power metal muy clásico y de buen nivel, eso sí, tienes que ser de los que les guste el sonido "Hammerfalliano". Tienen 6 discos de estudio editados desde el 2006 y en ese tiempo ha habido reestructuraciones en su formación habiendo ya pasado por la misma tres vocalistas diferentes. Si les escuchas, en un principio te das cuenta de que no han descubierto nada nuevo, sin embargo si escuchas su dicografía si que encontrarás buenos temas y una evolución a mejor, o a "más cuidado", aunque eso no siempre va de la mano de la calidad, de cualquier forma  la culminación es este disco que se han sacado de la chistera en 2014 de título "Stormborn". Parece que la estabilidad va llegando a la banda así como un asentamiento en su estilo y eso se nota mucho en esta última obra que promete hacer que mucha gente engrose las filas de sus seguidores. Temas a destacar, muchos, pues se trata de un disco de un nivel alto, que hará las delicias de sus seguidores de Hammerfall y compañía, y de todo el que le guste el Power metal de calidad. Si les escuchas, en un principio te das cuenta de que no han descubierto nada nuevo, sin embargo si escuchas su dicografía si que encontrarás buenos temas y una evolución a mejor, o a "más cuidado", aunque eso no siempre va de la mano de la calidad, de cualquier forma  la culminación es este disco que se han sacado de la chistera en 2014 de título "Stormborn". Parece que la estabilidad va llegando a la banda así como un asentamiento en su estilo y eso se nota mucho en esta última obra que promete hacer que mucha gente engrose las filas de sus seguidores. Temas a destacar, muchos, pues se trata de un disco de un nivel alto, que hará las delicias de sus seguidores de Hammerfall y compañía, y de todo el que le guste el Power metal de calidad. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otro de los temas de este álbum, uno en esta ocasión que poniendo a cantar a Joacim Cans podría pasar sin duda alguna por un tema de Hammerfall, se titula "Made of steel", y dejo un enlace de él a Youtube.

IN THE NAME OF METAL

Última obra hasta la fecha de esta reseña de la banda sueca BloodBound. Ya hemos hablado de ellos en este blog, y como ya dijimos, se formó en 2004 y hace un power metal muy clásico y de buen nivel. Tienen 6 discos de estudio editados desde el 2006 y en ese tiempo ha habido reestructuraciones en su formación habiendo ya pasado por la misma tres vocalistas diferentes. Si les escuchas, en un principio te das cuenta de que no han descubierto nada nuevo, sin embargo si escuchas su dicografía si que encontrarás buenos temas y una evolución a mejor. En 2012 editaron su penúltima obra de estudio hasta la fecha de esta reseña, la quinta en el orden de su discografía, algo que nos habla de una banda bastante prolífica a la hora de escribir música ya que salen más o menos a disco cada dos años. Pues bien, volviendo a su disco "In the name of metal", quiero hoy dejar el tema homónimo al título del disco, "In the name of metal", un contundente tema que desde el primer segundo te deja claro de que va a ir, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su videoclip oficial.

MORIA

Bloodbound es una banda sueca que se formó en 2004 y que hace un power metal muy clásico y de buen nivel. Tienen 5 discos de estudio editados desde el 2006 y en ese tiempo ha habido reestructuraciones en su formación habiendo ya pasado por la misma tres vocalistas diferentes. Si les escuchas, en un principio te das cuenta de que no han descubierto nada nuevo, sin embrago si escuchas su dicografía si que encontrarás buenos temas como este Moria, una canción sacada de su penúltimo disco hasta la fecha de esta reseña, su cuarta obra de estudio del año 2011 unholy cross, un buen tema que se mete facil en tu cabeza con las primeras escuchas con ese ambiente creado con sintetizador y coros épicos y enseguida ese estribillo que pronto tararearás,  y que nos habla del gran potencial de esta buena banda.
