Los suecos Arch Enemy siguen creciendo como banda, o quizá sea mejor decir como fenómeno musical, su nivel compositivo está fuera de toda duda, pero además, la dimensión mediática alcanzada en los últimos años en gran parte gracias a su cantante Alissa White Gluz les ha llevado al siguiente nivel, ahora todo lo que hacen, cada nuevo movimiento suyo suscita las miradas de medio planeta metálico, y eso se cuida al detalle programando cada uno de esos movimientos, así, en este 2025 editaron su décimo tercer LP de estudio "Blood Dynasty" del que se dejó fuera alguna canción que ahora se promociona aparte como es este "Break The spell", tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

ILLUMINATE  THE  PATH 

Un poco como sucede con los finlandeses Amorphis, los suecos Arch Enemy han alcanzado ese momento en su carrera en el que cada movimiento compositivo de la banda atrae las miradas en general de todo el mundo metálico, siempre apoyándose en la calidad, el resultado no podría ser otro. Aunque hace ya unos meses de la salida de este "Blood Dynasty" (marzo), los ecos de la misma siguen resonando en este año, y hoy quiero dejar en el blog otro de los temas de la obra, en esta ocasión "Illuminate the path" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Que enorme momento vive esta banda sueca, Arch Enemy, grupo que sigue creciendo obra tras obra, no solo en reconocimiento y número de seguidores, sino en calidad y versatilidad, aumentando sus registros e incorporando cada vez mayor cantidad de sonidos como ocurre en el nuevo adelanto de "Blood Dynasty" que lleva por título "Paper Tiger" y en el que flirtean con un sonido de heavy metal clásico, siempre con el aporte death melódico vocal de Alissa, pero que resulta absolutamente adictivo, un tema del que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube.

BLOOD  DYNASTY

Los suecos Arch Enemy están en uno de sus mejores momentos, al menos en lo que a reconocimiento general se refiere, la banda no ha hecho más que crecer y crecer, sobre todo en la última década hasta transformarse en el gigante que es hoy, y, fieles a su filosofía compositiva, 2025 será el testigo de su nueva obra de estudio, "Blood Dynasty", disco que verá la luz de forma oficial el próximo 28 de marzo del inminente 2025, y supondrá ya su décimo tercer LP de estudio, y el cuarto desde la incorporación de la enorme Alissa White-Gluz, quien les ha terminado de dar el empujón final para alcanzar la cima. Hoy dejo en el blog uno de los adelantos de la nueva obra, concretamente el que le da nombre y del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Arch Enemy - The Watcher

 

THE  WATCHER

Volver a Arch Enemy es siempre un gustazo, sobre todo en los últimos años en los que, como sucede con otras bandas tipo Amorphis, cada material publicado es sinónimo de éxito, seguro de calidad, y este "Deceivers" es una mustra perfecta de lo que digo. Siempre bañados por la etiqueta de sonido extremo, si uno va más allá de clichés se da cuenta de que el sonido heavy metal está muy presente en este grupo, y particularmente diría yo en esta obra. El tema es que la portentosa voz, agresiva y contundente de Alissa, más allá de su imagen y capacidad para atraer los focos también desde lo fisico, puede eclipsar otras facetas de una banda que siempre cuida los detalles desde el punto de vista musical y compositivo. Obra muy completa este "Deceivers" de este 2022, cuyos temas rayan a gran altura pero sobre todo de manera homogénea, quizá no sean tres o cuatro de un 10, pero si son todos dignos de un notable, algo que es siempre a la larga más deseable. Hoy dejo otra de sus canciones en el blog, en concreto una de esas que se meten deprisa en tu cabeza, "The Watcher", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

HANDSHAKE  WITH  HELL

Otra de esas bandas que parecen atravesar un momento dulce es Arch Enemy, formados en 1995, estos suecos han ido en crecimiento a lo largo de sus discos, con cambios en puestos como el de vocalista, tan significativo, más aún cuando el cambio lo haces de un cantante masculino a otra femenina, y luego, tras toda una década a su vez la sustituyes por otra nueva, pero en general cada cambio ha ido a mejor, y además está la peculiaridad del tono vocal que emplean dichas cantantes, la última de ellas, la guapa Alissa White Gluz que da ese plus a la banda desde 2014. Llevaba ya Arch Enemy sin editar un disco desde 2017 con su undécimo album de estudio "Will to power" del que ya he hablado en el blog, y este duo décimo "Deceivers", cuya salida oficial se espera para junio ha mostrado ya el pasado 2021 dos de los temas que lo compondrá, hoy dejo en el blog el tercero de los adelantos, "Handshake with hell", otra buena muestra del buen saber hacer de una banda con un objetivo muy claro, que se conoce muy bien y sabe donde quiere llegar, un tema este "handshake with hell" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

REASON  TO  BELIEVE


Está clarísimo que la banda sueca "Arch Enemy" ha llegado a un punto de su carrera en el que llegan posiblemente a más público que nunca, con un estilo muy propio y definido, abriendo más las puertas a otros posibles seguidores que incluso podrían acercarse al grupo desde gustos como el power incluso. Seguramente los fans iniciales y de siempre de la banda verán esta porgresiva apertura sonora con malos ojos pero muchos otros seguidores se han ido sumando a ese concepto compositivo más para todos los públicos a través de un sonido más comercial si se quiere. Lo que es indudable es el gran resultado final de lo que en la actualidad es una obra de esta banda, como fue el caso de "Will to power", la undécima obra de estudio del grupo editada el pasado 2017, y de la que hoy quiero dejar otro de los temas en el blog, concretamente este "Reason to believe" del que el grupo ha editado recientemente un video clip del que dejo una entrada a youtube hoy en el blog.

Canciones para una vida - Arch Enemy - The Eagle Flies Alone

THE  EAGLE  FLIES  ALONE

Arch Enemy es una banda sueca con una larga trayectoria musical a sus espaldas. Originarios de Suecia su sonido siempre se ha movido en el death melódico, y en cierto modo siempre les ha dado notoriedad que la alineación de la banda cuente con una mujer en el apartado vocal durante gran parte de su historia, una tesitura vocal la del death metal poco común para que una mujer la ejecute, aunque aquí siempre ha quedado claro lo posible y exitoso que eso puede ser. El grupo, sin embargo nació con un vocalista masculino, que ejerció su papel durante los tres discos iniciales del grupo. Arch Enemy se forma en 1995 fundado por los hermanos Amott, concretamente tras la salida de Michael Amott de la banda Carcass. En 1996 editan su primer LP, "Black earth" el primero de los 11 que, hasta la fecha de esta reseña adornan su discografía. Actualmente de los miembros originales tan solo Michael Amott permanece en la banda en funciones de guitarra, aunque Daniel Erlandsson a la batería lleva enrolado en el grupo desde 1996, es decir desde el inicio también. Como cuestión reseñable, por la seña de identidad que representa, tras la salida de Johan Liiva, cantante de los tres primeros disco de la banda, del grupo, en 2000, para la edición de su cuarto LP "Wages of sin", pasa a ocupar el puesto de vocalista Angela Gossow, quien permanecería con la banda durante 14 años y 6 LP's, hasta que para el décimo LP de Arch enemy fuera sustituida en el puesto por la actual cantante Alissa White-Gluz.. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una canción del undécimo y, hasta la fecha de esta reseña, último LP del grupo "Will To Power", del pasado 2017, en concreto el single "The eagle flies alone", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
