Torian - Soul Vampires

SOUL  VAMPIRES 

Por fin noticias compositivas de los alemanes Torian. aunque sea en forma solo de un single que al menos demuestra que siguen activos, ya que desde su último LP publicado, ya en 2018, solo otro single en 2023 además de este citado "Soul Vampires" de este 2026 son testigos de su estatus activo como banda. Como siempre power metal de corte europeo, con el sello además en la producción una vez más de Seeb Levermann que ya resulta ser parte de la identidad sonora de la banda y a destacar también la estabilidad del grupo en que permanecen los mismos miembros casi desde su formación, así que no hay cambios desde 2005 lo que incluye todo su material publicado. Dejo hoy en el blog este nuevo single, "Soul Vampires" que esperemos sea el preludio de una nueva obra que sería ya la cuarta, canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Sculpture - Over

 

OVER 

Sculpture, (una de las bandas que han escogido este nombre para intentar una carrera), concretamente los germanos, fueron una banda de breve existencia, (solo un par de años, de 1997 a 1999), formados por un ex de Crematory en lo que prometía ser un proyecto consistente con el apoyo además de Nuclear Blast, pero que se quedó en un único album "Sculpure" publicado en 1999, lleno de buenos momentos, para amantes del sonido Crematory como por  ejemplo queda claro en el tema "Over" del que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

Metal De Facto - Pen Is Mightier Than Sword

PEN  IS  MIGHTIER  THAN  SWORD 

Parece que los finlandeses Metal de Facto se sienten absolutamente cada vez más como una banda consolidada más que como un proyecto puntual, se nota que el grupo está cada vez más engrasado y en su tercer trabajo de estudio queda absolutamente patente. "Land of the rising sun part 2" es una obra que raya a gran nivel, muchos momentos destacables, otro de ellos es este "Pen is mightier than sword" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Thunderstone - The Path

THE  PATH 

Dentro del subgénero del power, y teniendo en cuenta la década de los 2000 y la escena finlandesa encontramos un gran número de bandas que lo intentaron, no todas ellas con un resultado masivo. Muchos de esos grupos se mantuvieron en un segundo plano pero publicando discos interesantes en sus carreras, no siempre estables, ni prolíficas. Uno de esos grupos es Thunderstone, formados en 2000, con un primer periodo de actividad hasta 2011 y una reactivación desde 2013 hasta la actualidad, un total de seis LP's de estudio siendo el sexto de ellos, "Apocalypse Again" de 2016, el único publicado, a fecha de esta reseña, dentro de su segundo periodo de actividad con la particularidad del retorno del cantante inicial del grupo. Chyld - Lite The Nite

 

LITE  THE  NITE 

Nuevamente en el blog una banda de las que apenas asomaron el rostro en la escena saturada de bandas de la década de los ochenta, estos, Chyld, canadienses, en una clave de heavy metal, Hard 'n heavy, y formando parte de ese tipo de bandas de breve periodo de existencia, (en la década de los ochenta entre 1986 y 1987, luego, desde 2012 reactivados hasta la actualidad. Se da la circunstancia de que la banda solo ha publicado singles, un par de ellos en sus inicios y cinco más entre 2019 y 2021. Crimson Glory - Angel Of My Nightmare

ANGEL  IN  MY  NIGHTMARE 

Los grandes nombres, sean lo masivos que sean, porque en ocasiones los grandes nombres no tienen porque ser bandas masivas, siempre van de la mano de un exceso de opiniones, parece que todos tenemos derecho a opinar en base a una trayectoria o a una época de éxito, pero los grupos tienen sus propias idiosincrasias, sus propios senderos y tiempos, épocas y cambios, forzados o elegidos, y del hecho de que sigan adelante, a pesar de todo o a pesar del largo tiempo transcurrido, debe leerse al menos la valentía de tener que enfrentarse a esas opiniones que vendrán seguro. Los estadounidense Crimson Glory es una de esas bandas, con las expectativas creadas, en una no demasiado extensa discografía pero con un renombre mítico, en un concepto algo más complejo como es siempre el toque progresivo, y enfrentándose a un largo silencio (de casi tres décadas) y con la pérdida de un miembro insustituible como el carismático vocalista Midnight, regresan en este 2026 con "Chasing the hydra", (17 abril), para mostrar la valentía, la capacidad y la ilusión. Desde Estados Unidos el enésimo caso de banda ochentera monodisco, de esas que practicaban el sonido de la vieja escuela, de esos que se diluyeron tras su breve irrupción en la escena, con argumentos más que suficientes para haber podido alargar su intento algún LP más. Es evidente que eran tiempos más complicados para la promoción de bandas nuevas que los actuales, además de la saturación de la escena internacional del momento. Su único LP llevaba por título "Guilty as charged", de 1983 del que dejo hoy en el blog la canción que le da nombre y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Sabaton - Yamato

 

YAMATO 

Los tiempos que corren hacen que uno deba ser muy visible a los potenciales fans, es un momento de fugacidad, todo va muy rápido y la oferta es casi ilimitada, así que las bandas recurren cada vez más a los singles entre obras, casi ciclicamente y Sabaton son maestros en eso. La excusa en esta ocasión para el single "Yamato" de este 2026 es la colaboración con el videojuego "World of warships" en el que el propio Joachim Broden resulta ser un jugador elegible para el juego. En lo sonoro, Sabaton, es ya un sello sonoro en si mismo y no tiene pinta de ir a cambiar. Dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube del clip oficial de este "Yamato".

Rough Silk - Roots Of Hate

ROOTS  OF  HATE 

Otra banda más de esas a las que se les ha dejado en un segundo plano, de manera más que injusta, otro de esos grupos que han luchado contra los elementos para mantenerse a flote, y a pesar de todos los contratiempos han sabido dejar su sello de calidad a través de su discografía, son los alemanes Rough Silk. Formados en 1989, el grupo ha atravesado varios periodos de actividad a lo largo de su historia, y su primer periodo les llevó hasta 2004. Su primer LP "Roots of Hate" se publicaba en 1993, un estupendo trabajo en clave de heavy metal, con grandes destellos melódicos y algunos progresivos, de la citada obra quiero dejar hoy en el blog la canción que la da nombre y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

THE  MISSING  NOTE 

Parecía muy atascada la carrera de los griegos Battleroar que llevaban ya ocho años de silencio desde su anterior LP de estudio publicado "Codex Epicus" de 2018, pero en este 2026 parecen activarse con su primer adelanto de lo que será su sexto disco "Petrichor" cuya salida oficial se espera para finales de abril. Derdian - Lord Of War

 

LORD  OF  WAR 

Derdian es el enésimo grupo italiano nacido al calor del éxito de sus compatriotas Rhapsody, en este caso de comienzo algo más tardío, ya que aunque se forman en 1998 no comienzan a publicar material hasta 2005, pero el influjo es innegable. En 2016 la banda publicaba su séptimo LP de estudio aunque no se si se debería considerar como LP en sí ya que se trata de un recopilatorio de sus tres primeras obras, regrabadas con invitados de primera línea para la ocasión y con tan solo un tema nuevo "Lord Of War" con Fabio Lione, uno de esos mercenarios musicales colaboradores compulsivos que en este concepto compositivo queda absolutamente perfecto, un tema del que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube.

Rozario - We Are One

WE  ARE  ONE 

Otra banda más de reciente formación que va dando pasos adelante en su carrera son los noruegos Rozario, en una clave de heavy metal melódico, con rasgos hard, con ese regusto clásico ochentero. Formados a inicios de la presente década su primer LP "The Gods we Swear" fue publicado en 2023 y en este recien pasado mes de febrero de 2026 publicaban de manera oficial su segundo LP "Northern Crusaders" del que quiero dejar hoy en el blog su canción "We are one" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su videoclip oficial.

Omen - Hammer Damage

HAMMER  DAMAGE 

La banda estadounidense Omen es una de esas bandas consideradas de culto para muchos, dentro del marco del heavy metal de la vieja escuela y de inspiración épica. Claro está que hablamos de la década de los ochenta, y claramente también la falta de constancia con los diversos parones ha hipotecado una carrera que podría haber alcanzado cotas mucho más elevadas. En total siete LP's de estudio, a fecha de esta reseña, es su legado compositivo entre 1983 y la actualidad en que parecen seguir en activo pero sin publicar material de estudio desde 2016 en que publicaban "Hammer Damage", séptimo LP, del que hoy dejo en el blog el tema que le da nombre, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Leatherwitch - Beast Inside

BEAST  INSIDE 

La frontwoman de la banda polaca Crystal viper, que se disolvió el pasado 2025, sigue su carrera creando ahora la banda Leatherwitch. poco ha trascendido de la separación del grupo tras dos décadas de actividad, pero lo cierto es que ahora la nueva banda que nace Leatherwitch cuenta con algún ex miembro de Crystal Viper además de la carismática lider Marta Gabriel que perpetúa en gran medida el sonido que venía mostrando Crystal Viper ahora en Leatherwitch cuya presentación se está haciendo estos días a través del single "Beast inside" del que hoy dejo en el blog un enlace a youtube.
