ROBOTS 

Décimo tercer album de estudio para los alemanes Mystic Prophecy "In Metal" que verá la luz de forma oficial el 27 de noviembre de este 2026, otra de esas bandas que van alcanzando ya el estatus de veteranos desde 2000 en que comenzasen su andadura como banda, para este disco renuevan una importante parte de la banda con uno de los guitarras, batería y bajo nuevos, pero la esencia parece no cambiar a juzgar por el primer adelanto "Robots" del que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube de su videoclip oficial.

Accept - Shadow Soldiers

SHADOW  SOLDIERS 

Se puede considerar a este "Stalingrad" de 2012 como un disco de confirmación de Accept, de confirmación de que la banda volvía, un grupo con el que ya nadie contaba hasta dos años antes en que regresaron compositivamente tras su desaparición de la escena entre 1996 y 2010, un largo bache tras la salida definitiva de Udo que nos dejaba a todos huérfanos de una de esas bandas fundamentales, y la verdad es que hubiese sido una pena inmensa que Accept, tras su gloriosa década de los ochenta no hubiese tenido opción de lo que aún tenían que demostrar en su carrera. Con esta segunda parte de la misma desde 2010 ya están alcanzando cotas muy altas de calidad, aceptación general, y discos importantes en si mismos, la máquina actual de nuevo está bien engrasada y sigue dando mucho que hablar. Volviendo a 2012, a "Stalingrad", décimo tercer LP del grupo, segundo de su resurrección, quiero dejar en el blog otra de sus canciones, hoy "Shadow Soldiers" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Yngwie Malmsteen - Now Or Never

NOW  OR  NEVER 

Otro de esos músicos que uno tiene a priori la impresión de que sabe lo que se va a encontrar con cada nueva obra, son músicos a los que vuelves, muchas veces por costumbre, otras con la esperanza de que rememoren sus mejores momentos, con los que te enganchaste a su sonido, en no pocas ocasiones, (como es el caso) hace ya décadas, y luego suele ser un poco lo de siempre. El pasado 2025 el músico arremetió contra los cantantes que han formado parte de su banda en el pasado tratando de dejar claro que ellos solo han sido un instrumento más a su servicio, que todo el mérito es suyo y que ahora intentan sacar provecho en sus carreras del nombre Yngwie para promocionarse, recordemos que hablamos de nombres de primerísimo nivel internacional, Jeff Scott Soto, Michael Vescera, Mark Boals, Matts Leven o Joe Lynn Turner entre otros, (eso habla por si solo), lo que explica que desde hace tiempo sea ya el cantante él mismo. Las virtudes y los errores que detectas en sus obras se suelen perpetuar, veremos en este "Hell or high water" de este 2026, cuya salida oficial se espera para el 13 de noviembre tras un lustro desde su anterior trabajo. Será ya su vigésimo segundo disco de estudio y de el dejo hoy en el blog su adelanto "Now or never" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su videoclip oficial.

Amorphis - House Of Sleep

HOUSE  OF  SLEEP 

"Eclipse" es una importante obra dentro de la discografía de los finlandese Amorphis, sobre todo en el sentido del cambio que significó para el grupo la incorporación del vocalista Tomi Joutsen al mismo, con la apertura que llevó dicha maniobra al número de fans que comenzarían a reclutar para su causa. Es un hecho que desde ese momento la carrera del grupo solo ha ido en aumento y que siguen a día de hoy sin tocar techo. De este "Eclipse", de 2006, séptimo disco de estudio del grupo quiero dejar en el blog su canción "House of sleep" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Ironflame - Dynasties Fall

 

 DYNASTIES  FALL

Otra banda que está en pleno ascenso, los estadounidenses Ironflame, que llevan además ya una década de actividad, y eso se nota en general, los grupos necesitan ese periodo de adaptación, evolución y mejora, de autoconocimiento, de encontrar su sendero y su identidad, hacerse un hueco y seguir trabajando, el resultado suele venir por si mismo y creo que en ello están Ironflame. Siempre con ese marco compositivo del heavy metal de la vieja escuela, en este 2026 han publicado el pasado 14 de agosto su sexto LP de estudio "Worlds to conquer" del que dejo hoy en el blog su canción "Dynasties Fall" con su videoclip oficial.

Iron Savior - Heavy Metal Never Dies

HEAVY  METAL  NEVER  DIES 

Parece sin duda una de esas cuestiones de justicia cármica, que tras toda la intensidad, el tesón. la convicción y la honestidad del trabajo de uno de esos grandes músicos, Piet Sielck, durante mucho tiempo en la sombra, su proyecto musical haya terminado encontrando el reconocimiento merecido, en una carrera ya larga, llena e importante, que ha dejado grandes obras, grandísimas canciones e influencia, además de un gran ejemplo para músicos y grupos nuevos en el sentido de que siendo fieles a sus ideas y conceptos compositivos, con trabajo se puede lograr lo que sea, (claro, si la calidad está ahí). repasando hoy su extensa discografía quiero recuperar una de las canciones de "The Landing", su sexto LP de estudio de 2011, en concreto "Heavy metal never dies", apropiado título para ilustrar lo que vengo exponiendo, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

A punto de ser publicado de forma oficial (28 de agosto), el que será el décimo cuarto LP de estudio de los estadounidenses Kamelot, otra de esas instituciones que todo el mundo conoce y que por méritos propios ha sabido conquistar la cima rehaciéndose a muchas circunstancias y salidas. Gonoreas - Chasing The Dragon

CHASING  THE  DRAGON 

Los suizos Gonoreas, antes The Gonorrheas y después Gomorra, se forman en 1994, desde 2000 se identifican con el nombre Gonoreas, bajo el que publican la nada desdeñable cantidad de seis LP's de estudio antes de en 2019 cambiar al actual nombre de Gomorra bajo que el que ya han publicado otros dos LP's. Desde su inicial hard heavy metal de los inicios hasta su propuesta más orientada al power después la verdad es que la banda ha demostrado su buen hacer a medida que avanzaba una carrera, como en tantas otras ocasiones, relegada a un segundo plano por el gran público en general, sin embargo es un hecho lo interesante de sumergirse en su propuesta compositiva llena de calidad. Hoy quiero dejar una de las canciones de su tercer LP de estudio "Apocalypse" de 2011, en concreto "Chasing the dragon" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

I'M  SHIPPING  UP  TO  BOSTON 

Entre disco y disco una buena manera de acortar los tiempos es hacer una versión de una canción o banda que al grupo en cuestión le guste o le quede bien, que sea de su universo sonoro. Los alemanes "Storm Seeker", esa buena banda que tan en silencio, sin hacer mucho ruido, tanto han crecido y van creciendo, han sacado en este 2026 este single "I'm shipping up to Boston", una versión del tema original de los estadounidenses Dropkick Murphies, un tema que alcanzó cierta fama al aparecer en una película de Scorsese "los infiltrados" ("The Deperted") de 2006, y en este 2026 la banda Storm Seeker hace su propia versión de la misma, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Einherjer - Alu Alu Laukar

ALU  ALU  LAUKAR 

Tras un lustro de silencio compositivo los noruegos Eiherjer publicaban en este 2026 el que supone ya su décimo LP de estudio en una carrera que comenzase allá por 1993. Es otra de esas bandas que ha sabido ir haciendo camino, con su propuesta vikinga, oscura, más minoritaria pero dentro del género absolutamente respetada. Ya echando la mirada atrás vemos una carrera nada desdeñable, y siempre es buen momento para resucitar viejos temas en las discografías de las bandas, en esta ocasión recuperando una de las canciones de su quinto disco "Norron", de 2011, del que dejo el tema "Alu Alu Laukar", una versión de otra banda noruega llamada "Ym:stammen",  y un enlace a youtube del mismo.

Se aproxima el 18 de septiembre, fecha de salida del nuevo disco de Kai Hansen bajo su propio nombre, que llevará por título "Born with a hammer", y del que deja un nuevo adelanto, siempre con el inevitable tufillo a Gamma Ray, (banda de la que no sabemos nada compositivamente hablando desde hace ya demasiado tiempo, imagino que más complicado cada vez si además de re enrolarse en Helloween se dedica a sacar material como Hansen) "Welcome to life" del que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube de su lyric video oficial.

Los finlandeses Battlelore reactivaron su carrera en 2016 tras su descanso en 2011, después de su sexto album de estudio "Doombound", algo que cogió por sorpresa a todos sus seguidores, ya que la banda para nada parecía acusar un bajón ni nada por el estilo. Desde su retorno en 2016 un séptimo LP en 2022 que devolvía la ilusión a sus seguidores aunque de nuevo han pasado ya cuatro años desde ese momento. Living Fast - Templars Fall

TEMPLAR'S  FALL 

El filón del sonido clásico en pleno siglo XXI sigue plenamente de moda, en cualquier escena, y una de las que tradicionalmente en los ochenta lideraban el movimiento, la estadounidense, sigue en la actualidad cultivándolo y sacando nuevas bandas, como es el caso de Living Fast, banda creada en 2024 que en este 2026 ha visto su debut en formato LP, ya que en 2024 publicaron su primer material en forma EP. El disco de este 2026 lleva por título "Running across steel" y de él dejaron fuera una canción "Templar's Fall" que ahora publican como single independiente. Wolfpakk - Land Of Wolves

LAND  OF  WOLVES 

El último LP publicado por la banda alemana Wolfpakk, a fecha de esta reseña, sigue siendo "Nature Strikes Back" de 2020, así pues ya seis años de silencio compositivo empieza a resultar demasiado para permanecer en la memoria de la mayoría en estos tiempos que vivimos de pura inmediatez. Deberían retomar la actividad en este aspecto porque en general la banda repleta de colaboraciones tiene un elevado nivel, y en esta última obra publicada vuelven a elevarlo respecto del anterior, sobre todo en el tono medio general de la obra. De ella dejo hoy en el blog uno de los temas que más me gustan de ella, "Land of wolves" con Mats Leven, otro gran nombre, en funciones vocales.Dejo un enlace a youtube.

Thy Legacy - Metal Legion

 

METAL  LEGION 

De vuelta a la escena griega a través de "Thy Legacy", una escena que está recogiendo los frutos de los muchos años que llevan haciendo franca,ente bien las cosas, que han sabido crear cantera, y las bandas en la actualidad surgen de forma natural y constante al calor del éxito cosechado por sus mayores. Siguiendo esa tradición sonora de su propia escena, también cultivado por ejemplo en la italiana, este sonido es ese "true epic" heavy metal de raíces clásicas. El 11 de septiembre de este 2026 verá la luz su debut "The Call" del que nos dejan ya su adelanto "Metal Legion" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
