Nuevo single de los finlandeses Beast In Black, quienes el pasado 2024 editaron un EP con un tema nuevo y tres canciones viejas más en directo, y quien sabe si ahora se trata del preludio de un disco nuevo el que sería ya el cuarto de la banda y que por tiempo ya les va tocando. Es evidente el poder de convocatoria que la banda finlandesa Beast in black he llegado a tener, un grupo que desde que nació lo hizo con sus miras en la cumbre y en lo suyo va camino de permanecer mucho tiempo ahí. De nuevo dan señales de vida con la promesa de un nuevo album de estudio el que ya sería el cuarto, a través de su adelanto - single "Power of the beast" donde queda patente una vez más ese regusto por el sonido electronico, y el ambiente retro futurista ochentero, una mezcla sello de la casa, que como digo de nuevo se refleja en este "Power of the beast" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Beast In Black - True Believer

 

TRUE  BELIEVER

Ya todo esta más que dicho, en general y en este blog en particular, en lo referente a la historia de Beast In Black, a su género predilecto compositivo, a la facilidad de componer melodías enganchonas de Kabanen, y a ese progresivo giro hacia lo electrónico, co la base de los teclados tan presente y cada vez más predominante. Realmente todo está dicho y se ve venir de manera muy evidente por la aún corta trayectoria de la banda, por donde seguirán sus pasos, e igualmente como las críticas de los sectores más puristas metálicos solo irán en aumento, pero de la misma manera hay que reconocer la potente capacidad para engancharte con sus temas de este músico y la propuesta de esta magnífica banda finlandesa, (aunque internacional). Sea como fuere es muy sencillo recurrir a canciones de sus discos pues muchas reunen las características de ser consideradas singles, otro buen ejemplo de su segundo LP "From hell with love" de 2019 es "True Believer" con ese baño tan ochentero y de la que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

BEAST  IN  BLACK  -  BERSERKER  -  (2017)

 

Tras la salida de Anton Kabanen de Battle Beast en 2015, se despertó una gran expectativa sobre cual sería el camino a seguir del compositor y guitarrista finlandés desde ese momento en adelante, teniendo siempre claro el gran peso compositivo que tenía en la citada banda. Igualmente había curiosidad por el camino que Battle Beast tomaría desde entonces. La respuesta serían dos bandas perfectamente capaces de plasmar su concepto compositivo a un gran nivel. La respuesta de Kabanen no se hizo esperar y para 2017 editó su primer LP con Beast In Black, en muchos aspectos similar a lo hecho con Battle Beast pero dando a conocer ciertos aspectos propios como compositor más digamos marcados y también la presentación definitiva de un gran vocalista griego como es Yannis Papadopoulos quien ya había demostrado su capacidad por ejemplo en Wardrum, pero que con Beast In Black adquirió ese altavoz absoluto que le puso en el mapa internacional a ojos de todos. La calidad de su debut "Berserker" volvió la vista de todos hacia Beast In Black, una gran obra en esa clave de power de corte europeo con un componente electrónico aquí aún bastante contenido pero que después ha ido a más. Un trabajo muy recomendable del que hoy dejo en el blog el artwork a cargo de Roman Ismailov.

Otra historia vieja como la música es la de la creación de bandas a partir de la ruptura de una previa, que en muchas ocasiones termina siendo un clon de aquella y en otras toma una nueva dirección, ilustrando el posible desacuerdo que suele ser causa de la ruptura mencionada. En este caso hablamos de los finlandeses Beast In Black, quienes se formaron tras la salida de la banda Battle Beast del guitarrista y compositor Anton Kabanen, reconocido músico que decidió dar salida a su propio concepto en Beast In Black desde 2015. Estamos ante un grupo que centra su sonido en un concepto muy electrónico, que a medida que pasa su carrera va aparentemente a más. En su segundo LP, "From Hell with love" ya mostraron un aumento respecto a su debut "Berserker" de 2017, y en los primeros adelantos del tercer LP que en estos días se muestran parecen dar un paso más aún en esa dirección. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog el artwork de la segunda obra, acargo del finlandés Roman Ismailov quien también ha realizado las demás portadas de la banda así como algunas de otras bandas entre ellas alguna de Battle Beast.

Segundo adelanto del tercer trabajo de los finlandeses Beast In Black, un nuevo single de título "One night in Tokyo" que desde luego te hará tener una opinión, hacia un lado o hacia otro, pero dudo mucho que la indiferencia sea la respuesta de nadie ante su propuesta, y es que esta banda va cargandose cada vez más de elementos electrónicos, hasta el punto de que por ejemplo en este tema en concreto puedas llegar a preguntarte donde están los rasgos metálicos. Más allá de este punto, es indudable la capacidad de Kabanen de crear melodías enganchonas, y la calidad en la producción esta completamente fuera de toda duda, este es un tema más de que etiqueta puede ponersele a un tema así, "One night in Tokyo", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial. Canciones para una vida - Beast In Black - Moonlight Rendezvous

 

MOONLIGHT  RENDEZVOUS

Primero de los adelantos de los nuevo de los de Kabanen, el que será su tercer LP de estudio, "Dark Connection", en una carrera que va como un reloj, un disco cada dos años desde su formación en 2015, así el debut en 2017, segundo LP en 2019 y este tercero en 2021. Volviendo a su temática recurrente, el manga, en concreto Berserk y con influencia futurista reconociendo tambien por ejemplo alguna de Blade Runner de Ridley scott. De hecho Kabanen ha querido dedicar la obra al creador de Berserk, Kentaro Miura que falleció este 2021. El sonido de este primer single "Moonlight Rendezvous" recién sacado a la luz va un paso más allá aún en lo electrónico, pero siempre con esa aparente facilidad para llegar rápido al oyente, una vez más imagino que será tachado de "popero o facilón" por muchos, pero el caso es que su sonido comienza a ser sello personal de este grupo y compositor.  No se durante cuanto tiempo las dos bandas finlandesas "Beast in Black" y "Battle Beast" seguirán solapando sus carreras, con ese marcaje tan estrecho que, al menos, actualmente llevan a cabo. De todas maneras, siempre que se habla de una de las bandas parece casi obligado mencionar a la otra por todo lo que implica tener un nexo común a ambas como Anton Kabanen, y esa polémica salida que ha derivado en esa competencia evidente que hay entre ellos. De cualquier manera creo sinceramente que hay escena suficiente para ambos grupos y espero terminar disociando a los grupos más adelante, más ahora que se van asentando cada uno en su puesto. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otra de las canciones del segundo disco de Beast In black, "From Hell with love", de 2019, concretamente la canción "Die By the Blade" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Nada mejor para ilustrar una idea como la expresada en mi anterior entrada referente al asunto Kabanen - Beast In Black - Battle Beast, que incluir la otra parte de la ecuación, es decir Beast In Black y su sonido. Evidentemente es más sencillo juzgar la obra ya editada y fiel a lo esperado que una con solo un par de adelantos, pero igualmente creo que queda patente que la figura de Kabanen se antoja fundamental en este concepto musical, y eso a día de hoy es sinónimo de "Beast In Black". Canciones para una vida - Beast In Black - Sweet True Lies

SWEET  TRUE  LIES

Desde luego que la figura de Anton Kabanen, guitarrista y alma mater de la banda finlandesa "Beast In Black", hace tiempo que ha dejado de ser una promesa futura para convertirse en referencia oblligada en lo que a buen hacer se refiere. Ahora nos presenta el adelanto de lo que será su segundo larga duración con su banda "Beast in black", como ya he dicho en el blog un grupo que forma tras su salida de Battle Beast no de muy buena maneras, con polémica por el nombre del grupo incluida, todo un clásico en esto de la música. Como digo ahora nos presenta su primer adelanto de "From hell with love" cuya fecha de publicación oficial es este próximo 8 de febrero. En este adelanto Kabanen sigue con la fórmula presentada en su debut, power melódico con un enfoque un tanto electrónico "bailable" de influencia casi ochentera, desde luego muy en la onda de lo que venía haciendo con Battle beast en la parte final de su carrera con ellos. Canciones para una vida - Beast In Black - Born Again

BORN  AGAIN

Nada mejor para comparar que escuchar uno mismo con sus propios oídos, así que tras la anterior entrada sobre uno de los temas del último LP de Battle Beast, es de justicia poner en el blog uno de la banda creada por Kabanen tras la salida de Battle beast, es decir del primer disco de Beast In Black "Berserker" salido igualmente a la venta el pasado 2017. Sin duda todo huele a rebanchismo y pique entre ambas bandas, algo lógico y evidente si se termina una historia entre componentes de un grupo a través de tribunales y demás. De lo que no cabe duda es de la calidad de Kabanen en esto de la composición e interpretación guitarrera y aquí dejo otra prueba más de ello a través del tema "Born Again", otro de los que más me gustan de esta primera obra de Beast In Black, de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Beast In Black - Beast In Black

BEAST  IN  BLACK

Segundo adelanto de la banda de nueva formación "Beast in Black" con Anton Kabanen ex de Battle Beast a los mandos, un grupo del que he hablado hace poco en el blog. No repetiré todo lo dicho en la anterior entrada referente a su primer adelanto de la inminente obra "Berserker", tan solo traigo hoy el segundo single a modo de confirmación de lo que uno se puede esperar de esta obra, siempre de la mano de la calidad y que con el apoyo promocional de nuclear blast detrás será sin duda uno de los discos importantes a nivel de ventas de 2017. Es evidente la calidad como digo de este genial guitarrista finlandés que parece destinado en el futuro a ser otro "rey Midas" tipo Kai Hansen o Tobias Sammet que transformen en oro todo asunto musical que toquen, veremos. De momento dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a su clip oficial de este "Beast in black" homónimo al nombre de la banda, esperemos que sea un buen termómetro de la temperatura musical que nos espera en la obra por salir.

Canciones para una vida - Beast In Black - Blind And Frozen

BLIND  AND  FROZEN

Cuando una cosa resulta evidente suele prometer ser cierta, y evidente era que Anton Kabanen no podía refugiarse como solo guitarrista en una banda ya asentada como Wisdom, pues tras haberse encargado de la composición completa de las tres primeras obras de Battle Beast elevando a la banda desde el desconocimiento a una fama grande y merecida, Anton no podía recluir su talento y necesidad compositivas a solo interpretar temas de otros, es evidente pues que es un líder natural en cualquier banda que monte, y eso es lo que ha hecho. Al final el tiempo pone las cosas en su sitio y "Beast in Black" será sin duda la banda que despejará cualquier duda de quien poseía el talento en "Battle Beast". Tras su salida de la citada banda en 2015 tras "Unholy saviour", el finlandés Anton Kabanen comenzó a pensar en montar un nuevo proyecto. Tras conocer a algunos de los miembros que formarían "Beast in black" de las formas más variadas la banda fue tomando forma. Por ejemplo el bajista Mate Molnar ofreció a Anton tocar la guitarra en su banda madre "Wisdom" y este a cambio tocaría el bajo en "Beast in Black", el griego Yannis Papadopoulos, cantante de "Wardrum" llegó a los oídos de Anton a través de Internet o el batería Sami Hänninen contactó directamente con Anton tras enterarse de su marcha de Battle Beast si es que decidía montar alguna cosa. El caso es que la banda fue tomando forma, con una influencia del heavy metal clásico pero con un lavado de cara "made in Anton Kabanen" para un resultado que solo puede ir en una dirección, calidad y buen hacer. Resulta asombroso el registro vocal de Yannis que incluso puede alcanzar registros propios de voces de mujer aunque con una capacidad para luego alcanzar otros más graves y agresivos, otro punto a favor al menos para mí que siempre he preferido las voces masculinas para esto del heavy. En definitiva, un disco que saldrá a la venta el próximo 3 de noviembre y que ya nos ha dejado un par de adelantos, hoy quiero dejar en el blog el primero de ellos, "Blind and Frozen" que promete que estamos ante una banda incipiente que de mantenerse promete dar mucho que hablar.
