CONCORD

Nueva obra a la vista para los estadounidenses Judicator, un grupo que ha ido poco a poco creciendo desde su debut en 2012. En principio el grupo despertó las miradas sobre todo por su parecido (más que nada en la parte vocal), con la banda alemana Blind Guardian, pero poco a poco se ha ido ganando el respeto y haciendose su propio hueco con su propuesta power un poco a medio camino entre la formula europea y la americana. En este 2025 editan su disco "Concord" (para el 28 de marzo), y de él dejan en estos días su adelanto "Concord" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Judicator - Sea Of Fire

 

SEA  OF  FIRE

Cuando una banda tiene los mimbres, la base, el potencial y la capacidad se le suele notar desde sus primeros pasos, después, lo del éxito y el reconocimiento ya es otra cosa, ahí entran muchas veces factores ajenos incluso a lo musical, lo que no deja de ser una lástima, pero en lo referente a la calidad, por ejemplo esta banda estadounidense, "Judicator" ha demostrado ya en esta más de una década de existencia que desde luego van bien servidos. Hoy quiero echar la vista atrás, hacia sus comienzos, que se dieron en 2012, y recuperar su segundo LP, "Sleepy Plessow" de 2013, una buena muestra de lo dicho al inicio de esta reseña, calidad y por aquel entonces promesa que hoy en día se ha más que cumplido y es de esos grupos que a medida que avanzan en su carrera queda más patente que van hacia arriba. De este segundo disco quiero dejar en el blog hoy el tema "Sea of fire" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Judicator - I Am The Void

 

I  AM  THE  VOID

Nueva muestra de poderío compositivo, de buen hacer, de presente y sobre todo futuro para la banda estadounidense "Judicator", un exponente del power internacional de los que parecen saltarse las fronteras de la escuela propia para desarrollar un sonido más propio de una ajena, en este caso la europea, y ese innegable aire, sobre todo vocal, a Blind Guardian, comentario este tan manido como inevitable. La banda tiene ya a sus espaldas una respetable trayectoria y una carrera con seis LP's de estudio a los que sumar dos EP's, el último de ellos editado en este pasado 8 de diciembre, titulado "I am the void", compuesto por dos temas, el que le da nombre, de casi diez minutos, y una versión de Blind Guardian, "The curse of Feanor", para echar más leña al fuego de las comparaciones vocales. Dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube del citado "I am the void", como digo tema largo que para nada se hace peado ni remotamente, con algún cambio que otro, interesante canción que merece una escucha atenta, y de la qu dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

URSA  MAJOR

Se acerca el momento de la presentación oficial del sexto LP de estudo de los estadounidenses "Judicator", exactamente para el 25 de noviembre. Sin duda alguna parece que la banda ha alcanzado ya un nivel de confianza, de afianzamiento y consolidados cada paso que han ido dando parece en la buena dirección. Siempre queda en el aire esa sensación de encontrar en su influencia compositiva tanto a la escuela europea como a la estadounidense, siempre dentro del power como marco musical. El sexto LP llevará por título "The majesty of decay" y parece que será una obra conceptual de la que hoy dejo en el blog su tema "Ursa Major" como aperitivo, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a oyutube.

LET  THERE  BE  LIGHT

Otra de las canciones pertenecientes al nuevo disco de los estadounidenses "Judicator", el quinto ya de la banda con ese sonido que, sobre todo en lo vocal, se nos hace tan familiar por el registro que en muchas ocasiones nos hace pensar en Blind guardian, aunque compositivamente la estructura de las canciones no se parezca tanto, y eso que el power que realiza la banda está mucho más cerca del concepto europeo que del americano. sea como sea, y como las comparaciones al final son siempre odiosas, desde luego la banda estadounidense ha demostrado ya en obras anteriores su enorme calidad y buen hacer, y este quinto disco sigue la misma senda. Como digo este tema que hoy dejo en el blog, "Let there be light" es buena prueba de esa calidad, canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

GLORIA

La quinta obra de estudio de la banda estadounidense "Judicator" ya se ve en el horizonte cercano, (10 de julio de este 2020), y van desgranandose los primeros adelantos como era de esperar, e igualmente, como era de esperar siguen con ese concepto power metal más cercano a la escuela europea que a la americana a la que pertenecen. Como ya he dicho en anteriores entradas es posible que a ello contribuya el tono tan "Hansi Kursch" en muchas ocasiones de su cantante John Yelland. Veremos la magnitud de la obra en su conjunto al escucharla, de momento hoy dejo en el blog este adelanto "Gloria", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su Lyric Video oficial.

THE  QUEEN  OF  ALL  CITIES

 Un nuevo repaso al último trabajo de los estadounidenses Judicator, "The last emperor", editado el pasado 2018 nos sirve para, una vez más, redundar en la misma idea que acude a nuestra cabeza al enfrentarnos a material de este grupo, calidad, y un estilo power mucho más propio de la escena europea que de la americana de la que proceden. Un sonido europeo que se agudiza más aún al comparar inevitablemente la voz del cantante con la de uno de los grandes en dicho puesto, "Hansi Kursch" de Blind Guardian. Sirva como ejemplo del citado buen hacer otra de las canciones extraídas de la citada obra, "The queen of all cities", un tema de nueve minutos, del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

SPIRITUAL  TREASON

Nueva obra de los estadounidenses Judicator, "The last emperor", que verá la luz de forma oficial este próximo 30 de marzo y del que comienza a llegarnos su primer adelanto "Spiritual treason". Este grupo lleva en activo desde 2012, como ya he comentado en este blog con motivo de su anterior obra. Su influencia clásica es innegable y reconocida por la propia banda, con un regusto por el sonido particularmente de Blind Guardian que queda también patente en el sonido que ellos mismos ejecutan, más en el caso de este primer adelanto de la nueva obra en la que colabora, nada menos que el propio Hansi Kursch a la voz, un aliciente más pues. Indudablemente estamos ante una de esas nuevas bandas destinadas a dar el relevo a los clásicos del género, y la promesa de sus anteriores obras parece poco a poco confirmarse una vez más por lo que podemos oír en este "Spiritual treason" de adelanto, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Judicator - At The expense Of Humanity

AT THE EXPENSE OF HUMANITY

Judicator son una banda estadounidense de Power metal, formada en 2012, y que hasta la fecha de esta reseña ha editado 3 LP's y un EP. Como sonido la banda bebe musicalmente hablando del sonido clásico del speed metal y power metal, de hecho ellos mismos hablan de influencias para su música de grupos tales como Blind Guardian, Iron Maiden, Scanner, Riot, Gamma Ray, Running Wild, Helloween, Agent Steel, etc. El proyecto "Judicator", nace de hecho en un concierto de Blind Guardian, cuando Tony Cordisco (Project: Roenwolfe, Sedulity), y John Yelland (Disforia) coniciden y comienzan a conectar musicalmente. Su album debut “King of Rome”, lo editan a finales de ese mismo 2012. Esta obra narra los últimos días de la última campaña de Napoleón antes de ser derrotado en la batalla de Waterloo, y es que la temática de esta banda suele ser historica casi totalmente. Al ver la reacción positiva que tuvo su obra deciden darle más dedicación tratando de que "Judicator" fuese más que un proyecto puntual, y así editan en 2013 su segundo LP, "Sleepy Plessow", con un pequeño alejamiento del influjo speed metal de su primera obra, en esta segunda se acercan más a una atmosfera más heavy, algo más lenta en cuanto a "tempos" y una mayor melodía, con la inclusión de numerosos cantantes amigos de la banda como invitados especiales, centrando el concepto de la obra en Federico el Grande, de Prusia. Tras un EP, en 2014 "Coping Mechanism", a modo de adelanto de su tercer LP, editan su tercer larga duración en 2015, "At The Expense of humanity", hace tan solo unos meses, un gran disco que no hace sino confrmar su trayectoria ascendente en la que van cosechando cada vez más reconocimiento general, totalmente merecido. Esta última obra tiene una concepción menos historica ya que gira en torno a un concepto más filosófico y existencial. Buena sorpresa musical para 2015, una banda que de seguir por este camino dará mucho que hablar antes o después.
