Trick Or Treat - Return To Monkey Island

RETURN  TO  MONKEY  ISLAND 

Los italianos Trick Or treat son una banda atipicamente italiana, ya he dicho en el blog en alguna ocasión que su sonido se asemeja mucho más a la escuela sueca o germana que al típico sonido transalpino, y además es un grupo que va poco a poco haciendose con una discografía ya nada desdeñable. Formados en 2002 como una banda tributo a Helloween, pronto se dieron cuenta que se quedaban muy cortos haciendo solo versiones de otros, y a medida que pasaban las obras y encontraban su sitio el grupo fue ganando reconocimiento y calidad. En este 2025 han editado ya su octavo LP de estudio, "Ghosted" del que quiero dejar hoy en el blog su tema "Return to monkey island" en el que colabora Chris Bowes de Alestorm, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Trick Or Treat - Ghosted

 

GHOSTED

Más allá del impacto real que en una banda pueda tener en su sonido, el hecho de buscar un rol concreto, de buscar un marco argumental a largo plazo para una carrera musical creo que le facilita un poco las cosas al grupo dotándolo de un punto extra de personalidad y reconocimiento, los italianos "trick or treat" se han decantado por los Dibujos animados para encontrar esa inspiración, y ya se puede hablar de una carrera larga si tenemos en cuenta que comenzaron allá por 2002 con lo que por otro lado no deja de ser un power de corte europeo de buena factura  y producción. En este 2025 publicarán su nuevo album de estudio, "Ghosted", que verá la luz en el mes de abril y que supondrá su octavo LP, un disco del que dejan ya algún adelanto, como el tema que dará nombre a la obra y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Trick Or Treat - Creepy Symphony

 

CREEPY  SYMPHONY

Existe una gran cantidad de formas de enfrentarse a lo de ser una banda de heavy metal, desde la perspectiva más seria comprometida en los cánones, hasta la más gamberra y desenfadada, "trick or treat" está desde luego y sin ningún lugar a dudas en esta última clase de bandas, pero no debemos dejarnos engañar por este particular, pues al igual que otras muchas bandas que escogen este camino hilarante en lo que a la imagen de la banda se refiere, el grupo se gasta una gran calidad y un nivel compositivo que en este caso concreto hará las delicias de los amantes del sonido power de alto octanaje y velocidad. Tan solo hace falta, para ver por donde pueden ir sus tiros compositivos, el título de su album debut en vivo allá por 2003, "Italian Helloween Tribute", y además, y para dar mas pistas sobre el tema todas son versiones de temas de los primeros Helloween de Hansen, salvo uno "we burn". El caso es que la banda ha tenido una carrera con cinco LP's de estudio y un gran número de singles especiales y variopintos, y en este 2022, para el primero de abril editarán el sexto LP de estudio que llevará por título "Creepy Symphonies", y del que hoy dejo en el blog el tema primer adelanto "Creepy Symphony", del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su peculiar clip oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Trick Or Treat - United

UNITED

Primer adelanto del que será ya cuarto LP "Rabbit's Hill Pt. 2" de esta buena banda italiana de Power metal, y de la que ya he hablado en otra ocasión en el blog. Como ya he dicho en mi otra entrada sobre la banda "Trick or Treat", manofactura una música sin embargo que, en mi opinión, no es acorde al estereotipo de sonido italiano dentro del power, acercándose su concepto más al de la escuela germana u otras del norte en cuanto a sonido, eso si, estrictamente dentro del concepto power. Quizá sea un poco esta la idea de la banda desde su concepción, ya que de hecho en sus inicios la banda se creo como un grupo tributo a Helloween, igualmente, y muy acorde a ese concepto "happy helloweenero" la temática de sus canciones giran muchas veces en torno a la felicidad, alegría, vida o fantasía literaria. El grupo se forma en 2002, como digo como tributo a Helloween, para comenzar posteriormente a escribir material propio. Tienen editados tres discos de estudio entre 2006 y 2012 y este "Rabbit's Hill Pt. 2" que saldrá a la venta este próximo 8 de Julio que será como decía más arriba su cuarta obra. El primer adelanto lo presentan con la colaboración de lujo a la voz del cantante de Sonata Arctica Tony Kakko, y en su sonido se intuye una continuación en la linea de la banda, con ese sonido digamos más "Europeo" que propiamente "Italiano", un tema del que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube de su lyric video oficial.

PRINCE WITH A 1000 ENEMIES


"Trick or Treat" es una banda italiana de power metal que manofactura una música sin embargo que, en mi opinión, no es acorde al estereotipo de sonido italiano dentro del power, acercándose su concepto más al de la escuela germana u otras del norte en cuanto a sonido, eso si, estrictamente dentro del concepto power. Quizá sea un poco esta la idea de la banda desde su concepción, ya que de hecho en sus inicios la banda se creo como un grupo tributo a Helloween, igualmente, y muy acorde a ese concepto "happy helloweenero" la temática de sus canciones giran muchas veces en torno a la felicidad, alegría, vida o fantasía literaria. El grupo se forma en 2002, como digo como tributo a Helloween, para comenzar posteriormente a escribir material propio. Tienen editados tres discos de estudio entre 2006 y 2012, año en que editan su último LP hasta la fecha de esta reseña, aunque se supone que en este verano saldrá a la venta su siguiente material. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de su tercer LP, "Rabbit's Hill Pt 1", en concreto este "Prince of a 1000 enemies" en el que colabora nada menos que André Matos (Angra, Viper), un tema recomendable y del que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.
