KINGDOM

Englobables en ese conjunto de bandas a las que se puede poner la etiqueta de metal cistiano, encontramos a los suecos Harmony, una banda que practica y hibrido entre heavy metal melódico y power metal que a su vez ha tenido una irregular carrera sobre todo por lo espaciado de sus obras y los cambios en su formación, incluido el puesto de vocalista por el que ha pasado el enorme Daniel Heiman que actualmente consta como titular del puesto aunque la banda no edita material nuevo desde 2015. Siempre ha mantenido a su vez este grupo muy alto el nivel de calidad de sus obras incluyendo un cierto aire progresivo a sus composiciones sin ser este particular dominante en su forma de componer, si sin embargo un ingrediente más que añaden aquí y allá. La carrera de Harmony comienza en 2000 y desde entonces tres LP¡s más dos EP's adornan su discografía, que se antoja un tanto escasa en referencia a su tiempo en activo y a la calidad mencionada demostrada. El segundo de sus LP's se titula "Chapter II: Aftermath", del año 2008, donde aún Heiman no había entrado a formar parte de la banda y donde las funciones vocales las desarrollaba un más desconocido Henrik Bath,quien desarrolla un gran papel y que dejaría la banda tras este segundo disco. De esta citada segunda obra hoy quiero dejar en el blog uno de sus temas, en concreto "Kingdom" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Harmony - Eternity

ETERNITY

Otro buen representante de la escuela sueca dentro del power metal, "Harmony", y otra banda que puede englobarse dentro del llamado "White metal" por tratar temas cristianos en sus letras, aunque poco a poco ha ido evolucionando a un sonido con más matices casi progresivos en ocasiones. Desde luego lo que no se le puede negar a la escuela sueca es el volumen de bandas y su altísimo nivel de calidad, desde siempre ha sido así y puntualmente en los últimos años parece haber aún un mayor número de grupos nuevos saliendo de semejante cantera. Harmony se formaron a comienzos de siglo y a pesar de su ya larga trayectoria solo cuentan con 3 LP's y dos EP's, y llevan ya desde 2015 si editar nada nuevo. Desde 2013 cuentan con la incorporación de Daniel Heiman a la voz, (Lost Horizon), todo un plus. Hoy quiero echar la vista atrás, hacia los inicios del grupo, hacia su primer LP, "Dreaming Awake", de 2003, un mucho más que interesante debut del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog una de sus canciones, un power muy de la época, en pleno apogeo del subgénero. Dejo la canción "Eternity", una canción que sería luego regrabada por la banda en su segundo EP, "Remembrance" de 2015, cantada por Daniel Heiman, pero que hoy dejo la versión inicial cantada por Henrik Bath, y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Harmony - Inhale

INHALE

Harmony son un grupo sueco de power metal, que tiene tres discos de estudio hasta la fecha de esta reseña. Formados en el año 2000, siempre me han parecido una banda de gran potencial, pero en este tercer y hasta el momento último disco, llamado Theatre of Redemption, sacado hace escasamente un mes, han terminado de dar en el clavo con la incorporación en funciones de vocalista de nada menos que Daniel Heiman, para quienes no sepan quien es, el vocalista de la por desgracia desaparecida banda Lost Horizon, o de Heed. También ha cantado con Crystal eyes en uno de sus discos y sinceramente espero que se decida por una de ellas y tenga más continuidad porque es uno de mis vocalistas preferidos de todos los tiempos. Con dicha incorporación parece que Harmony ha dado un paso al frente, veremos la acogida que tiene el grupo que ya ha demostrado que como banda son muy buenos, sobre todo para mi gusto en su primer disco de 2003 Dreaming Awake. Quiero recomendar este tema, Inhale, que es el que más me ha llamado la atención así en pocas oidas, y que sirve bien como medida del potencial de estos chicos. Dejo un enlace a youtube.
