Nuevo adelanto de la próxima obra de estudio de los finlandeses Beast in Black, "Fear the beast" que en breve verá la luz. En esta ocasión la banda explota otra de sus cualidades al presentar una de esas canciones cocinadas a medio gas, melódica, pero no carente de energía y fuerza, una de esas llamadas power ballads, titulada "Lost Children" y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Otro de los grupos que siempre atraen mi atención con cada nuevo lanzamiento es TYR, los feroeses que siguen adelante con su carrera en este 2026 publicando a mitad de noviembre su décimo LP de estudio "TYR". Para la ocasión la banda ha dejado su anterior discográfica para publicar su album bajo la suya propia "Runic Records", una forma magnífica de no tener que hacer nada que no deseen, y ya tienen más que suficiente nombre como para embarcarse en una aventura así y seguramente para atraer hacia su sello a bandas nuevas, o no tan nuevas. Gloryhammer - Pax Galactica

PAX  GALACTICA 

Ya son más de 13 años desde que se formase el por entonces proyecto Gloryhammer, en un debut que deslumbró a todo amante del power metal. Semejante impacto solo podía tratarse de una manera, dejar de ser proyecto puntual para transformarse en una banda a tiempo completo, desde ese debut otros cuatro LP's han demostrado que había potencial de sobra para alcanzar ese titulo de banda con todas las de la ley. En este 2026, este recien pasado 16 de octubre se ha publicado de forma oficial su quinto LP, "Space 1993 Wrath of Kor Virliath", con buena aceptación general de público y crítica, entre otros motivos por su capacidad para generar temas memorables como por ejemplo este "Pax Galactica" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

The Scepter - Taarakian Blood

TAARAKIAN  BLOOD 

Desde Canada, la enésima banda que se apunta a esto del heavy metal de la vieja escuela, al sonido clásico, en este caso también de reciente creación (2018) y que en este 2026 ven como se publica su debut en formato LP, son The Scepter. Vocalista femenina pero con una forma de interpretar absolutamente clásica. Watcher - Sorceress

 

SORCERESS

  Desde Suecia, y solo viendo la estética de la portada uno ya puede imaginar de que va esta banda, heavy metal de la old school, otro grupo más de los que se suman a esa marea de nuevas bandas a la antigua usanza. Formados en 2023 el proyecto Watcher en sus inicios era uno de esos grupos unidos a un solo músico, a un solo nombre Viktor Gustafsson que se dedicó durante un par de años a publicar una serie de EP's mostrando su visión musical. En 2025 publicaba ya el EP "Chains of Crystal" siendo cuatro miembros en la banda, y en este 2026 toma forma su primer LP "Mistress of our time", como banda más standard en lo que a miembros se refiere, algo más realista si tu idea es presentar tu material en vivo y además desarrollar una carrera fuera de los estudios. Segundo LP de los italianos The Headless Ghost a la vista, llevará por título "Legacy of the dead" y verá la luz de manera oficial el mes de noviembre de este 2026. Si ya te encontraste con esta banda en su debut de 2024 "King Of Pain", ya sabrás que estamos ante una banda que comenzó sus días como tributo de Kind Diamond para adentrarse en la composición de sus propios discos con el inicio de la década. El sonido, pues, la estética y el concepto general de la banda queda claro, con una calidad también de su lado. Crystal Eyes - Kids Of Rock 'N' Roll

KIDS  OF  ROCK 'N 'ROLL 

Que buena pinta tiene, a juzgar por los adelantos, la novena obra de estudio de los suecos Crystal Eyes, que se publicará de forma oficial el día 30 de este mes de octubre. Es una pena que la banda no haya tenido mayor continuidad compositiva pero a veces el precio de hacer buenos discos pasa por una maduración de los mismos, quizá siete años sea demasiado pero si el fruto final es bueno, bienvenido sea. El segundo adelanto de la nueva obra "Thunder God" lleva por título "Kids of rock'n'roll" y de el dejo hoy un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Aeon Gods - Feather Of Heart

FEATHER  OF  HEART 

Siempre hay bandas que parecen llegar desde su inicio con el favor de crítica y fans, grupos que por otra parte desde el primer momento han mostrado la calidad en la que se apoya dicho favor, pero que parecen muy pronto ser más grandes de lo que su discografía objetivamente les ha dado tiempo a mostrar. Los alemanes Aeon Gods son uno de estos casos, formados en 2022, en este 2026 han publicado su segundo LP "Reborn to light". Siempre dentro del power, de corte europeo, con tintes sinfónicos, arreglos y una impecable producción, tiene el grupo esa capacidad para enganchar al oyente desde el inicio, de ofrecer algo por una parte predecible pero por otra magnificamente ejecutado, un argumento más que suficiente para acercarse a su propuesta. Angus McSix - The Power Of Metal

THE  POWER  OF  METAL 

Cuando se le quita seriedad y drama a nuestro sonido, (algo que no todo el mundo encaja bien), surgen bandas como Angus McSix, que entre broma y broma, deja clara la calidad, que no esta en absoluto reñida una cosa con la otra. Si a todo esto añadimos músicos de primer orden, (ahora me refiero sobre todo por Sebastian Levermann) el coctel es suficientemente atractivo como para tomarse muy en serio a esta banda "de broma". El segundo disco de la banda, "And the all seeing astral eye", fue publicado en marzo, y de él quiero dejar en el blog la canción "The power of metal" con colaboración de Freedom Call, de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Power Paladin - The Arcane Tower

THE  ARCANE  TOWER 

Ya desde su debut de 2022 la banda islandesa Power Paladin nos hizo la promesa de ser una de las nuevas sensaciones de europower, un deslumbrante debut lleno de temas con gancho que cumplieron perfectamente su cometido "pescando" a cientos de fans. En este 2026 tocaba mostrar a la escena internacional en donde se encuentra la propuesta de la banda, hacia donde avanza su carrera, y nos han mostrado su segundo disco "Beyond The Reach Of Enchantment", más maduro, con menos "ganchos" quizá, pero dandonos esa seguridad de la carrera que si todo va bien vendrá por parte de estos islandeses. Unchained Vengeance - The Whisper Of Sorrowsbane

THE  WHISPER  OF  SORROWSBANE 

Nuevo proyecto estadounidense que en esté 2026 verá como se publica su debut, se trata de Unchained Vengeance, en donde se unen las fuerzas de dos músicos, el cantante Nick Courtney y el músico multiinstrumentista Nick Wusz, quienes enfocan su proyecto desde un punto de vista de heavy metal, a juzgar por su adelanto "The whisper of sorrowsbane", en momentos casi doom, en otros con un innegable aire true, rozando muchas cosas, incluso vocalmente hablando un tanto Dickinsonniano. Que placer es siempre acercarse al sonido de bandas de tanta calidad como Insominum, los finlandeses que han alcanzado un nivel en su carrera ya desde hace mucho que mantienen obra tras obra, agrandando su propio nombre ampliamente reconocible y reconocido. Los alemanes Eternity's End publicarán en este 2026 (exactamente para el 6 de noviembre), su cuarto LP de estudio "Titanblood". Poco más de 12 años de actividad ya para la banda que siempre ofrece en sus composiciones una mezcla de subgéneros, incluyendo un aire progresivo sin renunciar a la velocidad. Dejo hoy en el blog su adelanto "Ravenheart" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Cirith Ungol - All The Shadows

ALL  THE  SHADOWS 

Otra de esos efectos colaterales maravillosos del retorno del heavy metal clásico, desde que hace ya más de una década se volviese a poner de moda desde una perspectiva de la old school, es que muchas de esas bandas que originalmente hicieron grande a ese sonido inicialmente, se hayan ido animando a retomar sus carreras en vista de las oportunidades que hoy ofrece el gusto por ese sonido, por lo general bandas que en su momento cesaron en su intento demasiado prematuramente, y son muchisimas. Hoy, una de ellas en el blog, los estadounidenses Cirith Ungol, que se separan inicialmente en 1991, y lo retoman en 2015, para dejarnos otros tres LP's de estudio en esta segunda etapa, el tercero de ellos "All the shadows" que verá la luz de forma oficial el 30 de octubre y del que nos dejan su adelanto "All the shadows" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su lyric video oficial.

Beast In Black - Fear The Beast

FEAR  THE  BEAST 

La cuarta obra de estudio de los finlandeses Beast In Black a la vista, con una inspiración en Alien la película de Ridley Scott y en su criatura protagonista "Xenomorph".Por el momento nos dejan el adelanto que dará nombre a la obra "Fear The Beast" que es el primer tema presentado por la banda con su nuevo guitarrista Markus Venehsalo. El sonido el esperado para la banda, el espiritu compositivo del grupo sigue intacto a pesar de los cambios, dejo un enlace a youtube de este "fear the beast" de su clip oficial.

Crystal Eyes - Metal Bound

 

METAL  BOUND 

El noveno disco de los suecos Crystal Eyes aparece en el horizonte tras siete años desde su anterior trabajo de 2019 "Starbourne Traveler". La nueva obra lleva por título "Thunder God" y verá la luz de forma oficial el 30 de octubre de este 2026. Es siempre una buena noticia que bandas como esta no se rindan ante los largos silencios, ante las realidades de no acceder a las primeras líneas de popularidad internacional pues seguro que no somos pocos los que disfrutamos de sus composiciones y les seguimos en ese segundo término en el que se mueven. El primer adelanto de la nueva obra lleva por título "Metal Bound" y de él dejo hoy un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Insania - Angels In The Sky (25th Anniversary)

ANGELS  IN  THE  SKY  (25TH  ANNIVERSARY) 

Que lástima que esta banda no haya tenido mayor continuidad a la hora de sacar material, de crecer, son los suecos Insania, que habiéndose formado en 1992, y realmente no habiéndose separado de forma oficial, tan solo han llegado a publicar seis LP's de estudio. Su primer pico de actividad, y el mayor hasta la fecha de esta reseña, fue el de inicios del presente siglo cuando sacan la mitad de su discografía entre 1999 y 2002, lo que les puso con todo merecimiento en el mapa, sobre todo, por calidad y por el momento perfecto para ello para los amantes del power de corte europeo. Luego un primer silencio de un lustro hasta su cuarta obra en 2007, y después catorce años más hasta su quinto. Parece que han cogido una cierta inercia de nuevo, pues solo cuatro años después publican el sexto, el pasado 2025, y en este 2026 han aprovechado a regrabar y relanzar el tema "Angels in the sky" originalmente perteneciente a su segundo disco "Sunrise in riverland" que ahora cumple su veinticinco aniversario, y del que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Asterise - Fractal

 

FRACTAL 

Asterise es un proyecto de estos nuevos, con enfoque moderno desde la perspectiva del desarrollo de su carrera más que desde el punto de vista compositivo que no deja de ser un power melódico. Hablo de esa manera de existir como banda, conectados on line (Polonia Grecia), con colaboraciones y con mucho auto trabajo y auto promoción, buscándose la vida ellos mismos ante la saturación de bandas como siempre. En 2018 se crea este grupo y desde entonces dos LP's han sido publicados, y en este 2026 la fórmula EP, singles sueltos parece la escogida por el grupo. Uno de esos singles es "Fractal" publicado en el mes de abril y del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog un enlace a youtube.

After Infinity - Infinite Feeling

INFINITE  FEELING 

La banda finlandesa After Infinity comienza a mostrar las primeras pinceladas de lo que será su segundo LP de estudio que se espera para este otoño. Creado en 2022, el grupo en realidad es el concepto musical del guitarrista  Zsolt Szilagyi, quien ha escogido la fórmula de no tener una alineación concreta en la banda, (más allá de él mismo), y funcionar con artistas invitados, sobre todo en funciones vocales. Ya en su primera obra de 2024 hizo lo mismo consiguiendo buenas críticas y ahora parece perpetuase en la idea. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una de las canciones de su segunda obra, en concreto "Infinite Feeling" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
