TEMPESTBOUND 

"Tempestbound" es el segundo adelanto del que será ya el quinto disco de estudio de los finlandeses Brymir "What we left behind" y cuya salida de manera oficial será el 2 de octubre. Como siempre la banda hace un ejercicio de melodía y fuerza a partes iguales siempre apoyado por su calidad y en ese marco del death melódico que va mostrando cada vez más la madurez que el grupo va alcanzando tras dos décadas de existencia, han encontrado su camino y lo siguen con firmeza para alegría de los que nos reconocemos seguidores del grupo desde el inicio. Grimner - Traldomens Far

TRALDOMENS  FAR 

Regreso de los suecos Grimner en este 2026 con "Stormvingar" su quinto LP de estudio que publicarán de forma oficial pasado mañana 4 de septiembre. Desde su formación en 2008 además de los citados LP's la banda ha publicado un total de tres EP's más a inicios de su carrera. Siempre desde su concepción sonora vikinga y folk con fondo vocal áspero, sus canciones están llenas de melodía y rememoran ese tiempo pretérito creando una atmósfera nórdica y épica. Tokyo Blade - Screaming Evil

SCREAMING  EVIL 

Muchos fueron los grupos que, a pesar de formar parte activa y reconocible de los pioneros, muchas veces dentro del movimiento de la NWOBHM, por supuesto en la parte inicial de los años ochenta, desarrollaron una primera parte de su carrera demasiado fugaz, incluso aunque ocupase esa fugacidad toda esa citada década, como es el caso de estos británicos, Tokyo Blade, y que depués desapareciesen sin más, (aunque Tokyo Blade resisitiese la pirmera mitad de los 90), para luego reaparecer un par de décadas después con una segunda parte de actividad, en este caso concreto desde 2011, relanzando su carrera. Parece un patrón bastante repetido para ser casual, y es que la escena desde los años 10 de este siglo ha resultado ser mucho más propicio para los grupos con un patrón compositivo clásico, en definitiva el heavy metal sin adornos se ha vuelto a poner de moda en la última década y media dentro de nuestro mundillo metálico. En este 2026 ha publicado su décimo segundo LP de estudio "hoist the colours high", este resién pasado 21 de agosto, manteniendo su espíritu clásico compositivo, y de la obra dejo la canción "Screamind Evil" a través de un enlace a youtube.

Este 2026 es testigo del nacimiento de una nueva banda, proyecto, desde Alemania, Ristridi, liderado e impulsado or el guitarrista, compositor e ingeniero de sonido Michael "Ristridi" Wob, que además de encargarse de todos los instrumentos en el estudio y de las cuestiones técnicas a la hora de la grabación es su principal compositor y se apoya en otros dos músicos para cuestiones vocales, en las voces limpias "Anti", vocalista de Don't Drop The Sword y en los matices agresivos Alex Meyer de Dark Solstice, creando una interesante mezcla de heavy metal matizado. El fruto lo recoge este año como digo con su debut en formato LP "Ride the storm" del que ha visto la luz de forma oficial el pasado día 21 de este mes de agosto y del que dejo hoy el tema que da nombre a la obra a través de un enlace a youtube.

Yngwie Malmsteen - Now Or Never

NOW  OR  NEVER 

Otro de esos músicos que uno tiene a priori la impresión de que sabe lo que se va a encontrar con cada nueva obra, son músicos a los que vuelves, muchas veces por costumbre, otras con la esperanza de que rememoren sus mejores momentos, con los que te enganchaste a su sonido, en no pocas ocasiones, (como es el caso) hace ya décadas, y luego suele ser un poco lo de siempre. El pasado 2025 el músico arremetió contra los cantantes que han formado parte de su banda en el pasado tratando de dejar claro que ellos solo han sido un instrumento más a su servicio, que todo el mérito es suyo y que ahora intentan sacar provecho en sus carreras del nombre Yngwie para promocionarse, recordemos que hablamos de nombres de primerísimo nivel internacional, Jeff Scott Soto, Michael Vescera, Mark Boals, Matts Leven o Joe Lynn Turner entre otros, (eso habla por si solo), lo que explica que desde hace tiempo sea ya el cantante él mismo. Las virtudes y los errores que detectas en sus obras se suelen perpetuar, veremos en este "Hell or high water" de este 2026, cuya salida oficial se espera para el 13 de noviembre tras un lustro desde su anterior trabajo. Será ya su vigésimo segundo disco de estudio y de el dejo hoy en el blog su adelanto "Now or never" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su videoclip oficial.

Ironflame - Dynasties Fall

 

 DYNASTIES  FALL

Otra banda que está en pleno ascenso, los estadounidenses Ironflame, que llevan además ya una década de actividad, y eso se nota en general, los grupos necesitan ese periodo de adaptación, evolución y mejora, de autoconocimiento, de encontrar su sendero y su identidad, hacerse un hueco y seguir trabajando, el resultado suele venir por si mismo y creo que en ello están Ironflame. Entre disco y disco una buena manera de acortar los tiempos es hacer una versión de una canción o banda que al grupo en cuestión le guste o le quede bien, que sea de su universo sonoro. Los alemanes "Storm Seeker", esa buena banda que tan en silencio, sin hacer mucho ruido, tanto han crecido y van creciendo, han sacado en este 2026 este single "I'm shipping up to Boston", una versión del tema original de los estadounidenses Dropkick Murphies, un tema que alcanzó cierta fama al aparecer en una película de Scorsese "los infiltrados" ("The Deperted") de 2006, y en este 2026 la banda Storm Seeker hace su propia versión de la misma, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

El filón del sonido clásico en pleno siglo XXI sigue plenamente de moda, en cualquier escena, y una de las que tradicionalmente en los ochenta lideraban el movimiento, la estadounidense, sigue en la actualidad cultivándolo y sacando nuevas bandas, como es el caso de Living Fast, banda creada en 2024 que en este 2026 ha visto su debut en formato LP, ya que en 2024 publicaron su primer material en forma EP. De vuelta a la escena griega a través de "Thy Legacy", una escena que está recogiendo los frutos de los muchos años que llevan haciendo franca,ente bien las cosas, que han sabido crear cantera, y las bandas en la actualidad surgen de forma natural y constante al calor del éxito cosechado por sus mayores. Siguiendo esa tradición sonora de su propia escena, también cultivado por ejemplo en la italiana, este sonido es ese "true epic" heavy metal de raíces clásicas. El 11 de septiembre de este 2026 verá la luz su debut "The Call" del que nos dejan ya su adelanto "Metal Legion" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Dragonland - Survival Of Mankind

SURVIVAL  OF  MANKIND 

Prácticamente se puede suscribir todo lo dicho en la entrada anterior respecto a la banda Axenstar con Dragonland, otra banda sueca, también en clave de europower, igualmente en la escena, el momento (finales de los 90 inicios de los 2000) idóneos para desarrollar su carrera y su planteamiento compositivo, e igualmente relegados a un segundo plano a pesar de todo. En este 2026 el grupo publicará su séptimo LP de estudio "Prophecies" (oficialmente el 23 de octubre), y de él nos dejan su primer adelanto "Survival of mankind" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Tras su disco de versiones de este 2026, los alemanes muestran su excelente estado de forma con un nuevo album en este mismo año, "Deathbringer", cuya salida oficial se espera para el 13 de noviembre. Será ya su décimo séptimo LP de estudio, lo que habla de la magnitud ya de esta banda. Para la ocasión estrenan discográfica (Frontiers). Amon Amarth - Gjallarhorn

 

GJALLARHORN 

"Gjallarhorn" es el tema de presentación de su nuevo album para la banda sueca Amon Amarth, "The allfathers awakens", cuya fecha oficial de publicación será el 2 de octubre. Es el tema de presentación en referencia al anterior tema "Upphaf" en que la banda hacía una incursión en un sonido más acústico de lo que acostumbra, y este "Gjallarhorn" es más lo que uno tiene interiorizado del grupo, sobre todo en los últimos LP's, donde el sonido es más accesible al gran público de lo que solía ser en los inicios de la carrera de la banda. Otro proyecto internacional, Sanctmu Pyre, que en este 2026 ha dado sus primeros pasos compositivos con la publicación de su debut en formato LP "He who remains".
