Iron Kobra - Trembling Dungeons

TREMBLING  DUNGEONS 

Iron Kobra, otra banda que en su momento decidió recuperar el espíritu del heavy metal de la vieja escuela pero en pleno siglo XXI, es parte de esa ola global de resurrección del sonido clásico, en esta ocasión desde la cantera alemana, que se dio desde inicios de la década de los diez de este siglo. Formados en 2008, a fecha de esta reseña cuatro son sus LP's de estudio, si incluimos "Eternal Dagger" cuya salida oficial se espera para mitad de junio, y del que hoy dejo en el blog su adelanto "Trembling Dungeons" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Tungsten - Joker

 

JOKER 

El quinto album de estudio de los suecos Tungsten llevará por título "Ashes" y no verá la luz de forma oficial hasta octubre de este año, y de momento ya han mostrado dos adelantos del mismo, el segundo de ellos en estos días, "Joker", donde la banda de la familia Johansson muestra su poco o nulo miedo a la experimentación, la fusión de sonidos que les aleja de una etiqueta única y que sin embargo no les aleja de una identidad propia y reconocible. En este segundo adelanto "Joker", se flirtea con el "Yodel" tirolés con un baño absoluto de "tungsteno" en onda de la banda que sigue demostrando lo efectivo de su estilo. HIGH  AND  LOW 

El enésimo proyecto o banda sueca enmarcado en el sonido power que debutará a nivel de LP en este 2026, son Shadowborne, con un sonido melódico, voz femenina, pero en una tesitura más Battle Beast que Nightwish para entendernos, un marco instrumental un tanto Sabaton, muchos de los clichés se dan cita en este adelanto de "Heaven's Falling" que así se llamará la obra, titulado "High and low" y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Dreamtale - Mirror Mirror

MIRROR  MIRROR 

Los finlandeses Dreamtale son otra de esas bandas que llevan ya una nada despreciable trayectoria a sus espaldas ya que se formaron en 1999 y desde entonces han publicado ya ocho LP's de estudio, el último de ellos a fecha de esta reseña en 2022, pero siempre he tenido esa impresión de ser una de las bandas, por uno u otro motivo, que se encuentran en una segunda fila, en aceptación o repercusión más que en calidad, sobre todo desde que en 2019 la banda se rearma y cambia a varios de sus miembros. En este 2026 el grupo ha presentado el pasado 30 de abril un nuevo single "Mirror Mirror" que puede ser preludio de un nuevo album que por tiempo ya tocaría. Lost Dawning - Cry Of The Dragonborn

CRY  OF  THE  DRAGONBORN 

Otra banda más nueva que da sus primeros pasos en este caso en los terrenos sinfónicos del power metal son los suecos Lost Dawning, una banda formada en 2020 y que por el momento ha publicado solo un EP y algunos singles sueltos. De momento sin apoyo discográfico. el grupo ha editado ya dos singles en este 2026, como si fuera a ser preludio de algo más de lo que al menos de momento no tengo noticia, el primero de esos singles de este 2026 lleva por título "Cry of the dragonborn" y de él dejo un enlace a youtube.

Los suecos Prime Creation son una banda con una década de historia ya a sus espaldas y tres LP's de estudio publicados a fecha de esta reseña, el cuarto de su discografía se espera para este 2026, (junio). Estamos ante un power que se aleja un poco del estereotipo sueco al uso, con un cierto baño de modernidad, cuidada producción como es sello de la casa sueca y los que les han visto en vivo destacan su buen hacer y energía sobre el escenario. Sanctum Pyre - Behold The Thrones

BEHOLD  THE  THRONES 

Siguiendo con el buen estado de forma de la escena griega, aunque en este caso sea un proyecto solo en parte griego, (también sueco), quiero traer al blog a la banda Sanctum Pyre, otro grupo de reciente formación con miembros de Battle Symphony (En lo guitarristico y teclista) y Mentalist (En lo vocal), hablamos de un heavy power metal, de una cierta tendencia épica. Battleroar - What Is Best In Life

WHAT  IS  BEST  IN  LIFE 

Redundando en la suerte que tienen los griegos con su escena natal, otra de sus bandas clásicas, Battleroar, quienes llevaban ya ocho años de silencio desde su anterior obra, hoy mismo ha salido de forma oficial a la venta su nuevo LP de estudio, "Petrichor" que es el sexto disco de su discografía. Como no podía ser de otra manera la épica de espada ilumina sus letras al igual que lo hacen sus compatriotas Crystal Winds recién reseñados en este blog, y en ambos casos la referencia lírica de las canciones propuestas a la figura literaria de Conan El Barbaro me hace imposible no sumergirme en ambas canciones. Crystal Winds - King Of Steel

KING  OF  STEEL 

Otra muestra más de la capacidad y cantidad de la escena griega, siempre gustando de ese aire épico, ese concepto ultra heavy donde las espadas mandan en lo lírico. Crystal Winds es una de esas bandas nuevas-viejas, es decir, formadas hace mucho tiempo ya, (1999) pero que no han comenzado a publicar material en condiciones hasta hace poco, (2021 en formato LP, antes, en 2016 en formato EP). Poco más que añadir, su segundo LP "Long live the king" verá la luz de forma oficial en mayo y de él dejo hoy en el blog su canción "KLing Of Steel" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

BLOODBORN 

Cinco añitos ya llevaba la banda noruega Einherjer sin anunciarnos un nuevo disco de estudio, algo que este 2026 deja de ser así ya que el grupo saca en junio "Lifeblood", el que será su décimo ya LP de estudio siempre con su reconocible estilo vikingo. Mob Rules - Master Of The Black Crow

MASTER  OF  THE  BLACK  CROW 

Que gran noticia que los germanos Mob Rules parezcan coger de nuevo una inercia compositiva más alta, se trata  de una de esas bandas que llevan mucho tiempo haciendo las cosas bien pero habían caído en largos silencios entre obras, y si aumentan su frecuencia sin dejar de lado la calidad habitual será siempre una gran noticia. El pasado 2025 publicaron su undécimo LP de estudio tras siete años de silencio y que en este 2026 aprovechen a sacar una especie de EP con material desechado de sus últimas sesiones de grabación parece mostrar esa intención de mantenerse más a la vista. "Stories from the verdant vale" saldrá a la venta de forma oficial el 21 de agosto y de él dejo su adelanto "Master of the black crow".

Los estadounidenses Khemmis son una banda con una ya cierta trayectoria a sus espaldas si bien no han llegado a explotar de cara al gran público. Creadores de un heavy doom de pesados riffs, en este 2026 el grupo lanzará su quinto LP de estudio el próximo mes de junio, desde su formación allá por 2012. Lex Legion - Sleep Eternally

SLEEP  ETERNALLY 

Seguro que dará que hablar el nuevo proyecto que echa a andar compositivamente hablando en este 2026, "Lex Legion", un proyecto que reune a buena parte de la formación de finales de los ochenta de los míticos King Diamond, así nombres como Andy LaRocke (guitarra) o Mikkey Dee (batería) son argumento suficiente para despertar el interés de todo metalhead que se precie. Hablamos, claro está, de heavy metal de corte clásico, de alto nivel, el que la experiencia conjunta de músicos de tal calibre debe dar. En junio verá la luz de su debut de título identico al nombre de la banda, 9 temas en la versión regular de la obra de los que la banda ya ha desgranado el primero, "Sleep Eternally" que abrirá el disco y del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Narnia - Oceanwide

 

OCEANWIDE 

Siempre celebro que los suecos Narnia saquen material nuevo, una de esas bandas que cuidan absolutamente el sonido que crean, y que ya tiene un innegable sello personal, y es que la banda tiene ya una trayectoria larga, (desde 1996), con un amago de separación, (2010 a 2014), algo que afortunadamente quedó solo en eso, y en este 2026 el grupo sacará a la venta su décimo LP, "X", concretamente el 29 de mayo, y de él nos dejan ya el adelanto "Oceanwide" del que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube.

Dominum - The Circus Is In Town

 

THE  CIRCUS  IS  IN  TOWN

Dominum es uno de esos casos de bandas que parecen abocadas a copar los puestos más altos de la aristocracia metálica no solo europea, uno de esos casos donde su carrera parece seguir un plan preconcebido, y paso a paso parece irse cumpliendo. En este 2026 los alemanes publicarán su trecer LP de estudio, "Night is calling" cuya salida oficial se espera para el tres de julio, y ya tenemos aquí su primer adelanto de la nueva obra, "The circus is in town" con un toque casi industrial, moderno, que me ha recordado mucho a la propuesta de los suecos Tungsten por momentos, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
