EDGE  OF  A  DREAM

Magnífico ejemplo de como rememorar el espiritu ochentero con los medios actuales, el que practican los suecos "Air Raid" cuyo sonido podríamos etiquetar como un hard 'n heavy melódico, lleno de guiños a la citada década. Se forman en 2009, desde entonces, y a fecha de esta reseña, cuatro son los LP's de estudio que forman su discografía, el cuarto de ellos del presente 2023, "Fatal encounter", del que quiero hoy dejar en el blog uno de sus temas, "Edge of a dream" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

VICTIM  OF  THE  NIGHT

El concepto clásico del heavy metal en pleno siglo XXI es innegable que ha sufrido un enorme repunte en lo que a bandas de todo el planeta se refiere, que han adoptado este modo de componer como su manera o meta. El repunte de bandas se hace especialmente notable en las escenas nórdicas y particularmente en la sueca que ha recuperado mucho del poder que siempre tuvo con esa calidad intrinseca a su propio origen. Otra de esas bandas que han tirado por simplificar eliminando lo digamos superfluo son "Air Raid", formados en 2009 y que hasta la fecha de esta reseña tienen tres LP's de estudio ya a sus espaldas, aunque el último de ellos sea ya de 2017. Todo en el grupo parece sacado de la década de los 80 pero con el baño tecnológico de nuestros días en lo que a producción se refiere lograndose el efecto que tan atractivo resulta a los amantes del género clásico que no deseen renunciar a la limpia producción actual. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otro ejemplo de su sonido, en este caso a través de uno de los temas de su segundo LP, "Point of impact" de 2014, concretamente "Victim of the night", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

NIGHT OF THE AXE

Nuevo ejemplo de lo que vengo diciendo últimamente en el blog acerca del resurgimiento del espíritu clásico del heavy metal de la old school en jóvenes bandas de este siglo, en esta ocasión lo ilustran lo suecos Air Raid, un grupo formado en 2009 y que desde sus inicios tenían muy claro a lo que querían sonar, puro heavy metal del tradicional, ni más ni menos, y es evidente que lo hacen muy bien. En su aún breve periodo de existencia han editado ya 2 LP's y un EP. La banda la integran Arthur W Andersson (Cantante), Andreas Johansson (Guitarra), Johan Karlsson (Guitarra), Robin Utbult (Bajo) y David Hermansson (Batería). En sus inicios contaban con otro cantante, Michalis Rinakakis, que a mi personalmente me parecía más versatil, y quien dejo la banda a mediados de 2013 por diferencias internas con el resto del grupo. Hoy quiero dejar un tema en el blog de su primer larga duración, "Night of the axe", de 2012, con Rinakakis aún en la banda, concretamente el tema homónimo al título de la obra, "Night of the axe", toda una declaración de intenciones del concepto musical de Air raid, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
