HEAVENLY  SYMPHONY

Como resulta evidente a través del título de la obra, "Chapter VIII" estamos ante el octavo LP de estudio de los suecos Axestar, una banda de esas que nacieron en la escena y la fecha perfectas para desarrollar el sonido que practican, (Suecia, comienzos de siglo y power metal de corte europeo). Sin embargo, desde el pricipio siempre he tenido esa sensación de que se les percibe como una banda de segunda línea, y su carrera creo que en cierto modo ha visto como esta sensación repercutía en cierta medida en su desarrollo, quizá se antoje un tanto escasa su producción musical para tan larga trayectoria. En definitiva, "Chapter VIII"  verá la luz de forma oficial a primeros de diciembre de este 2023, y de momento nos dejan el primer adelanto, "Heavenly Symphony" un tema power de manual, muy clásico dentro del europower, del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Axenstar - Infernal Angel

INFERNAL  ANGEL

Axenstar es una banda sueca power metalera con un ya largo recorrido en la escena internacional. se forman en 1998 como una banda de versiones llamada "Powerage", nombre bajo el que continuan hasta 2001. A partir de ese momento se plantean realizar su propio material y se cambian el nombre por el de "Axenstar". Desde sus inicios la banda fue impulsada por  Peter Johansson (guitarra) y Magnus Ek (bajo). En 2002 editan su primer trabajo, "Perpetual Twilight", curiosamente bajo el sello español "Arise Records", algo raro viniendo de un país como Suecia, una de las cunas del heavy y país que cuida mucho el apoyo a las bandas de calidad, como puede ser el caso. A este lanzamiento seguirían el segundo LP "Far From Heaven" en 2003, el tercero "The Inquisition" en 2005, trabajo con el que terminan el contrato con "Arise records". A esas alturas la banda no había logrado gran reconocimiento a pesar de su buen hacer, y de hecho es una de esas bandas que no termina de despuntar a pesar de su evidente calidad. 2006, 2011 y 2014 ven como la banda completa su discografía, hasta la fecha de esta reseña por lo tanto 6 LP's. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de su segundo LP, "Far From Heaven" de 2003, en concreto el tema "Infernal angel", que enseña bien el concepto power casi noventero y de indudable escuela sueca - finlandesa - nórdica que usan estos chicos, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
