Claymorean - Silent Guardians

SILENT  GUARDIANS 

La tercera  obra de estudio de los serbios Claymorean, (la primera tras cambiar su nombre de Claymore a Claymorean), lleva por título "Unbroken" y fue publicada en 2015. Estamos ante una banda que ha tenido bastantes cambios en su formación, y así, tan solo su motor compositivo Vladimir Garčevic que es ademas guitarrista y una de las voces de la banda, permanece desde el inicio en el grupo. Con un cierto cambio de planteamiento desde el concepto épico del inicio, (épico a la italiana o griega si se quiere), a un concepto power más doom posteriormente. Seis LP's de estudio se antojan un tanto escasos para una larga ya trayectoria (desde 1994) pero sus varios parones les han lastrado en ese y otros sentidos. Winged beasts of his majesty, honored through time

Turned into stone for what they had known
They were the guardians of paradise
Once dragons of fame, the statues remain
Standing alone in the wind and the rain

The wizard ended the dragons’ great rule
Turned them to stone and placed each one alone
on castle's four tops of the world
Instead of the power the king met his end
Death dealer the wizard, his task is now complete
Throne is now a vacant seat

The dragons’ spirits looked down from above
Knowing all well there is nothing they could do
The wizard knew this too
Evil minions were summoned, the kingdom now claimed
No use to wizard the people dragons once saved
All were slain!!!

The dragons stood still on the castle top
They could not act, they watched as the madness took place
Forever in silence they wait

Turned into stone for what they had known
They were the guardians of paradise

Bodies of stone with spirits dismayed
No savior in sight no chance to be freed
The kingdom crumbled under king’s greed

Canciones para una vida - Claymorean - Blood Of The Dragon

 

BLOOD  OF  THE  DRAGON

Continúa con cierta dificultad, como de una manera desordenada, con esa sensación de incertidumbre en su futura continuidad la carrera musical de la banda serbia "Claymorean", un grupo impulsado por la figura de Vlad Invictus que formase la banda en 1994 bajo el nombre de "Claymore" y que se encarga de la voz masculina, la guitarra y la composición, y apoyado desde 2012 por la voz femenina de Dejana Garcevic. El pasado 2019 editaron un single de forma digital e independiente que daba un poco más de continuidad a su carrera, un tema único "Blood of the dragon" para el que contaron con los servicios multi instrumentistas del sueco  Cederick Forsberg del que ya he hablado en más de una ocasión en el blog, uno de esos inquietos músicos que se apuntan a un bombardeo. Tras esta obra en formato single la banda ha editado un demo con dos temas en 2020, lo que muestra una vez más esa extraña sensación de desorden en su carrera tras ya 4 LP's en la misma.Veremos cual es el destino final de un grupo que por otra parte no tiene nada que envidiar a otros grupos de su estilo, un power de corte épico, que recuerdan en muchas ocasiones a esa corriente italiana o griega de bandas. Canciones para una vida - Claymorean - The Final Journey

THE  FINAL  JOURNEY

 Otra banda serbia que sigue intentando salir del anonimato general a base de tesón y buen hacer son "Claymorean", un grupo con una larga carrera ya aunque, como digo, aún de bastante desconocimiento para el gran público en general. Comenzaron su carrera allá por 1994 bajo el nombre de "Claymore" con el que funcionan hasta 2012 en que lo alargan a "Claymorean" comenzando así una segunda etapa en su carrera. Sus inicios, la primera década es un grupo que apenas publica nada, ni siquiera una demo ya que la primera vería la luz en 2002, siendo esta una época de formación de la banda en la escena underground de su país, poco a poco creciendo en la sombra. Desde 2003 comienzan a editar material oficial, siendo su primer LP, "the first dawn of sorrow" de ese 2003 su presentación internacional, una obra que no tuvo repercusión y que no vio continuidad hasta 2013, toda una década para presentar su segundo larga duración "Lament of Victory", aún bajo el nombre de Claymore, y del que ya he hablado en el blog. 2015 fue el año en que deciden cambiar su nombre por Claymorean y parece ser un punto de inflexión, un intento más de llamar la atención del gran público ya que ha tenido continuidad a finales de Mayo de este 2017 con el cuarto LP del grupo, "Sounds from a dying world", del que hoy quiero dejar uno de sus temas, concretamente "The final journey", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Claymorean - The Everchosen

THE EVERCHOSEN

Claymorean, o Claymore como se hacían llamar hasta el anterior disco, es un banda serbia que define su música como una base de Power metal tradicional europeo con elementos épicos y sinfónicos. Sus líricas están basadas en hechos históricos, fantasía y novelas y películas de terror y fantasía o juegos de fama mundial. Comienzan su andadura en 1994, y no será hasta 2002 que publiquen su primera demo. En 2003 editan su primer larga duración a través de "One Records". Tras esa obra, la banda entra en una década de aparente inactividad, regresando en 2012 a la actividad con una nueva formación, editando en 2013 su segundo disco de estudio, "Lament of Victory". En 2014 el grupo decide cambiar su nombre pasando la banda a llamarse "Claymorean", con la edición de una nueva demo también en 2014, a modo de renacer parece. Ya con el nuevo nombre de Claymorean han editado en este 2015,  en concreto el 8 de Junio, su tercer larga duración, de título "Unbroken", el disco que hoy nos ocupa, una obra en la que no han variado el concepto musical de su trabajo previo bajo el nombre de "Claymore", Epic Power metal que combina los elementos del power metal tradicional con la épica de las bandas sonoras de las películas y líricas historico fantásticas y en este caso en concreto, los cinco primeros temas del disco están inspirados en la saga de juegos "Warhammer". El disco incluye además una versión de la banda de culto "Manilla Road", concretamente "Into the Courts of Chaos". En general un disco en la onda del sonido "Claymore" con todos los elementos esperables para los seguidores de la banda, del que quiero dejar  una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
