POWER  FROM  THE  SKY

El inicio de la carrera musical de Narnia, la banda sueca liderada por Christian Rivel, tuvo desde el inicio sobre sí puesto el foco ante la propuesta compositiva con ese aire neoclásico, sobre todo en su parte inicial de tres discos, quizá, ante esa acogida, el músico desde muy temprano se dedicó también a diversificar su esfuerzo compositivo en otra serie de bandas que al final, no eran, ni siguen siendo, una versión bastante clónica de su propuesta con Narnia, desde la temática cristiana hasta el sonido heavy melódico, y siempre mostrando la pulcritud productiva tan propia de los suecos, y de Narnia en particular. Por lo tanto, "Wisdom Call" es "solo" una de esas propuestas alternativas de Narnia, en este caso con un solo disco editado en 2001, "Wisdom Call", del que hoy dejaré en el blog uno de sus temas, "Power form the sky", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Narnia - Angels Are Crying

ANGELS  ARE  CRYING

Que gran banda estos suecos, Narnia, veterano ya grupo que lleva desde 1996 perseverando en su heavy metal melódico - power metal de inspiración cristiana, y como buenos hijos de su escena natal poseedores de una limpieza productiva absoluta, salvo en el periodo 2010 - 2014 en que dejaron de estar en activo, han ido sacando material de forma continuada aunque desde 2014 con una reformación en lo que a músicos se refiere manteniendo el núcleo importante y el sonido mismo de la banda. 2023 fue el testigo de su última obra publicada que hacía el número nueve en sus LP's. Hoy quiero recuperar una de las canciones de su tercera obra de estudio, "Desert land" de 2001, en concreto "Angels are crying" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Manticora - Dragon's Mist

DRAGON'S  MIST 

La escena danesa siempre contribuyó a la escena internacional con bandas de gran calidad, aunque en no pocas ocasiones con menor reconocimiento que otras a pesar de la mencionada calidad, Manticora es un buen ejemplo de ello. Formados en 1997 han desarrollado una carrera bastante homogenea, pero algo escondida, siempre bordeando la línea del power y el sonido progresivo, con 10 LP's de estudio, a fecha de esta reseña, el último de ellos de este 2024, estamos ante un grupo realmente importante en el que uno debería invertir algo de su tiempo para conocer su obra, seguramente si no conoces a la banda te sorprenderá gratamente. Canciones para una vida - Isengard - Stormcrow

 

STORMCROW

No por muchas veces mencionado es menos cierto, que la década de los noventa, la segunda mitad sobre todo y el comienzo de los 2000 fueron años donde las bandas dentro del power metal de corte europeo y de temática fantástico histórica abundaron, encontraron un terreno perfecto para desarrollarse, retroalimentandose unas con otras hasta engrosar la legión de seguidores que seguían este tipo de sonido. Entre tantas bandas muchas de ellas apenas despuntaron, en ocasiones por falta de calidad, falta de constancia, o falta de promoción, pero es siempre un gusto sumergirse entre los grupos menos conocidos para tratar de descubrir pequeños tesoros en forma de canciones o de albumes completos que te sorprenden de alguna manera. En este marco encontramos a los suecos Isengard, con tal nombre tolkieniano uno se puede hacer idea de que cumplen con muchos de los clichés mencionados hoy, y así es. Es una banda claramente de temas sueltos para mí, de pescar en su discografía para descubrir momentos especiales como el que hoy dejo en el blog, perteneciente a su último LP de estudio "Crownless Majesty" de 2001, el tercero de la banda, el tema "Stormcrow", absolutamente evocador, lleno de ese toque fantástico y en cierta medida épico, canción de la que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Angra - Heroes Of Sand

 

HEROES  OF  SAND

Es siempre dificil que una banda se rehaga ante la salida de uno de sus miembros icónicos, máxime siempre si el miembro en cuestión es tan visible, o perceptible como el cantante, que se expone en mayor medida, que se muestra muy abiertamente a la hora de mostrar sus virtudes, pero hay bandas, muchas, que lo logran, que saben dar un paso al frente para al final incluso crecer si son lo suficientemente fuertes y leales a sus propuestas, o incluso si saben redirigir sus esfuerzos compositivos. El caso es que Angra, la banda brasileña por todos conocida, supo sobreponerse a la salida de André Matos de la banda, era ya un nombre con gran peso en la escena a finales de los 90 y tras "Fireworks" de 1998, el tercero de los LP's del grupo dejo plantados a sus compañeros. Rapidamente los dos guitarristas y en gran medida compositores del grupo, Kiko Loureiro y Rafael Bittencourt buscaron reemplazo en un desconocido para la época Edu Falaschi, brasileño tambien, que en "Rebirth", título de su cuarto LP de 2001, toda una declaración de intenciones, supo no solo mantener el nivel sino dar a la banda una nueva vida. La obra es recomendable en su conjunto, y de ella hoy dejo en el blog el temazo "Heroes of sand", a medio tiempo, con melodía y no carente de fuerza, lleno de enganche pegadizo en forma de estribillo, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Insania - Seasons Of Life

 

SEASONS  OF  LIFE

La escena europea de la década de los noventa, (finales) y de la década de los 2000 se vio invadida, saturada de bandas que se apuntaban al power metal como medio compositivo para desarrollar su carrera. Se diversifica y desarrolla entre otros subgéneros puntualizando incluso por zonas o regiones adquiriendo ciertas características particulares según la zona donde se compusiera, naciendo así el llamado europower que tantos exponentes tuvo en esas citadas décadas siendo el norte de europa incluyendo Alemania y toda escandinavia exponentes de la mayoria de bandas en cantidad y calidad, aunque no solo, por supuesto, otras escenas como la Italiana por ejemplo se apuntaron casi en tropel a la citada "moda". Surgen así docenas de bandas que en ocasiones apenas tienen ocasión de asomarse a la abarrotada escena internacional y comienzan la mezclas de matices en busca de una identidad propia. Insania es uno de esos grupos suecos que desarrolla su carrera en esas circunstancias, y con elementos que incluyen también un aire neoclásico y algo progresivo muestran su propuesta que nunca tuvo un reconocimiento masivo, ni mucho menos, quizá por ese componente un poco más complejo de su estilo personal. Canciones para una vida - Iron Fire - Into The Abyss

 

INTO  THE  ABYSS

Con Iron Fire, la banda danesa, me sucede eso que me pasa en algunas ocasiones con ciertas bandas, una sensación de grupo que por una parte no ha llegado a cosechar todo el reconocimiento y éxito que la calidad de, por ejemplo su debut, mereció, y que por otra parte ha tenido la tenacidad de mantenerse contra viento y marea activos en una escena internacional tan saturada y sin dar su brazo a torcer, habiendo ya creado una respetable discografía de 9 LP's de estudio de un power que en los últimos tiempos ha evolucionado con la demanda de la escena internacional del power. Los inicios sin embargo, eran más fieles al sentir del power de corte europeo afin a la época, con ese aire un pelín más acelerado marca de la casa. Producido por Tommy Hansen, la segunda de las obras de los daneses de título "On the edge" de 2001, a mi entender no alcanza el descomunal nivelón del debut "Thunderstorm" del año anterior, pero si parecía ir apuntalando una carrera que apuntaba bien alto, algo que a la postre no llegaría a cumplirse, al menos en lo que a reconocimiento general se refiere. Canciones para una vida - Windir - Journey To The End

 

JOURNEY  TO  THE  END

Cambiando el tercio en lo referente al estilo hoy quiero echar una mirada hacia el death melódico, con temática épico nórdico vikinga, y para ello quiero hablar de la banda noruega "Windir", quienes estiviesen una década en activo desde mediados de los 90. En dicho periodo llegaron a editar un total de cuatro LP's de estudio. Estamos hablando de un sonido muy en la onda de los "Falkenbach" y similares, por lo general con temas un poco más cortos que estos y además con un gusto por la experimentación que laes daba un sello personal reconocible. A pesar de no haber llegado nunca a ser los más reconocidos han sabido a través de los años, y tras su separación, alcanzar un cierto "Status" como referencia un tanto "Underground". Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de su tercer LP, "1184", de 2001, una canción en la que se muestra esa ausencia de miedo a la experimentación, sobre todo al final de la canción, y ese espíritu "Falkenbachiano" en lo compositivo y ambiental, la canción se titula "Journey to the end" y cierra la obra, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

A  PASSAGE  THROUGH  THE  MOUNTAIN

A pesar de que esta buena banda sueca siga en activo la realidad es que llevan ya demasiado tiempo, todo un lustro, sin dar señales de vida compositiva y, la verdad, es que se echa de menos material nuevo de su parte. Como es conocido su estilo power de corte europeo ha estado siendo creado desde mediados de la década de los 90 en adelante y han editado un total de 6 LP's de estudio mucho más que interesantes. Hoy quiero recuperar otro de sus discos en el blog, rescatando una de las canciones pertenecientes a su segundo LP de estudio, "Crossroad" de 2001, concretamente "A passage through the mountain" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

DRAGON'S  MIST

 Manticora es una banda danesa cuyo sonido abarca desde el power metal, pasando por una vertiente más progresiva o un heavy-speed metal de corte más clásico según la época que se mire o el tema que se escoja. Este grupo lleva tiene ya detrás una larga trayectoria que comienza en 1996, bajo el nombre de "Manticore", para desde 1997 en adelante cambiarlo a "Manticora" con el que siguen en la actualidad en activo, a pesar de no sacar material nuevo de estudio desde 2010 con su "Safe", que supone su séptimo y, hasta la fecha de esta reseña, último disco de estudio de la banda. Con una temática que va desde la ciencia ficción a la literatura y la fantasía, la banda ha siempre tenido una estabilidad en su formación que aún perdura en parte, pues en la parte de guitarra y vocal continuan estando los mismos músicos que iniciaron esta andadura musical. Canciones para una vida - Freedom Call - The Quest

THE  QUEST

 Siempre es una buena idea repasar la discografía de una banda como Freedom Call, un grupo de esos que nos tienen acostumbrados a hacerlo prácticamente todo bien, dentro de un marco de pulcro power metal absolutamente europeo. Ya he dejado en muchas ocasiones mi debilidad por esta banda y hoy no voy a decir nada nuevo, tan solo repasar alguno más de sus temas icónicos que les han hecho grandes en una ya larga carrera de 20 años a sus espaldas a pesar de su nacimiento como proyecto paralelo, pero la calidad se impone y de esa manera inocente y natural es como muchas veces nacen las mejores bandas. Hoy es el turno de "The Quest" una canción de su segundo album de estudio "Crystal Empire", de 2001 donde demostraban que no solo seguían vivos tras su gran debut, como digo como proyecto paralelo de mushos de sus integrantes, sino que además apostaban por consolidarse y por la calidad, un tema este "The Quest" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Steel Attack - The Beast

THE  BEAST

Otra banda más dentro del movimiento musical del power metal que nace en esa explosión que dicho subgénero experimentó desde finales de los 90 y a lo largo de la siguiente década, particularmente dentro de la escena europea a la que pertenecía esta banda sueca, "Steel Attack". Formados de las cenizas de un proyecto anterior llamado "Mayer's Eve", "Steel Attack" adopta esta denominación desde 1997. El sonido de la banda desde su comienzo es sin duda un power metal de corte europeo, al que se le nota la escuela sueca emulando en cierto modo a compatriotas suyos tales como Hammerfall o Dream Evil. La vida musical del grupo se extiende realmente entre los años 1999, año de publicación de su primer LP "Where mankind fails", y 2008, año en que editan su sexta y, hasta la fecha de esta reseña, última obra de estudio, "Carpe diend", a pesar de que la banda no se ha separado y desde ese 2008 parece estar en "espera" para editar algo más, o relanzar su carrera. Desde 2009 si que parece haber habido cambios en la alineación del grupo reentrando en el mismo tres músicos de los que comenzaron la andadura musical de Steel Attack, y que estaban al grabar el disco que hoy quiero traer al blog, su segunda obra de estudio, "Fall Into Madness", de 2001, un disco que demuestra el buen hacer de un grupo que como tantos otros, sin ser tampoco unos superdotados musicales si que demostraron que podían haber llegado más arriba de lo que lo hicieron en unas circunstancias diferentes. Tras haber leído recientemente sobre la reunión de este grupo finlandés realmente con no demasiada buena prensa, algo injustamente en mi opinión, he querido traer al blog alguno más de sus temas pues , evidentemente sin ser la mejor banda de la historia, si, sin embargo, quiero romper un lanza a favor de este grupo que cuenta con memorables momentos a lo largo de toda su carrera, al menos suficientes para no hacerles merecedores de tan mala opinión general negativa. De hecho creo que alguno de sus discos por completo como "Sword's song" de 2003, su segundo disco es un álbum absolutamente destacable. Como decía al inicio he leído recientemente que desde 2016 la banda retomó una actividad que dejaría en suspenso desde 2011 en adelante, tras la edición de su sexto álbum de estudio "Doombound". Realmente no se lo temprano o tarde que retomarán, (si lo hacen) la senda de editar nuevo material, pero hasta ese momento quiero recuperar otro de sus temas, en concreto "Shadowgate" de su debut, "Where the shadows lie" de 2001, una canción que enseñaba bien la linea compositiva que seguirían en su carrera y que espero recuperen editando su séptima obra. FOLLOW  ME

Otro de los temas destacables de este buen disco de Gamma Ray, "No world order", el séptimo de la banda, de 2001, puede ser este "Follow me", aunque creo que para la ocasión los de Kai Hansen se marcaron una obra buena en su conjunto. Con una linea argumental basada en un libro de Mark Brauneis acerca de los "Iluminati" la obra se va desgranando con acierto y contundencia habiendo una cierta vuelta hacia las raíces de la banda. Aquí nos encontramos igualmente ante un Kai Hansen perfecto en funciones vocales con una interpretación genial muy acorde a su linea. Como digo recomendable de principio a fin demostrando que por esos años eran de las bandas que encabezaban la ola power internacional, sin duda. Volviendo al tema "Follow me", una canción que con el apoyo de los teclados entra como un tiro en tu cerebro desde la primera escucha y ese inconfundible sello Gamma Ray hace que sea un tema 100% recomendable, un tanto "Freedom Call" si se quiere. Canciones para una vida - Winterlong - Winterlong

WINTERLONG

Al hablar de este grupo, Winterlong, lo hacemos de una de esas bandas unidas a una figura musical concreta, en esta ocasión al músico sueco Thorbjörn Englund, una de esas personas nacidas para la música, que no ha llegado aún a ser demasiado conocido dentro de los circulos metálicos pero algo que estoy seguro de que antes o después ira corrigiendose ya que nos encontramos ante un polifacético y gran guitarrista, (entre otras cosas), ya que además también se suele encargar de bajo, teclados, batería, mezcla, producción, etc. Esta versatilidad queda patente bien en la banda a la que hoy me quiero referir, "Winterlong" donde Thorbjörn Englund desarrolló un heavy power metal gusandoselo y comiendoselo casi todo el solito. Además su carrera se ha completado en otras bandas y proyectos, como "Endomorph", "Pavlovian dogs", "Raubtier", "Star Queen", y más recientemente como guitarrista de "Sabaton" desde 2012 en adelante o con su carrera en solitario en una vena instrumantal bajo el nombre "Thobbe Englund" ya con tres obras en total. Volviendo a su material con "Winterlong", nos encontramos con su primer material serio, su primera banda como tal y en la que, como decía más arriba, se encargaba de practicamente todo, musical, interpretativamente e incluso tecnicamente hablando (producción). El sonido de este proyecto estaba encaminado más a un power tradicional, con cierto influjo casi épico nórdico, sin llegar a ser ni mucho menos preponderante, pero con cierta presencia como digo. Esta banda estuvo activa diez años, entre 1998 y 2008, periodo en que edita cuatro LP's, 2001, 03, 05 y 06. Canciones para una vida - Secret Sphere - Lady Of Silence

LADY  OF  SILENCE


Nuevamente voy a volver en el blog la vista a esa época dorada del power, en concreto a ese periodo de explosión de bandas italianas que inundaron la escena internacional a la sombra del éxito que Rhapsody cosecho a nivel planetario que hizo salir a muchos de sus compatriotas animados por las circunstancias, lo que demuestra lo importante que es siempre para la escena de un país que salga una banda grande de sus fronteras para que los ojos de la comunidad metálica internacional vean con mejores ojos la labor de otras bandas de ese mismo país, pues bien, eso sucedió sin duda a finales de los 90 en Italia, pero claro, las bandas que salían tenían un nivel alto de calidad, pues aunque el camino lo abriese Rhapsody, los pasos los tenía que dar cada banda con esa calidad a que me refiero, y algunas de esas bandas aun siguen en activo tantos años después, caso de estos Secret Sphere a que hoy me refiero. Formados en 1997, esta banda siempre se declaró influida por el sonido de las bandas clásicas, tipo Helloween, lo que explica ese punto power de su sonido, pero al mismo tiempo siempre declararon también su amor por el sonido de los Savatage, Angra o Dream Theater, lo que puede igualmente explicar ese regusto progresivo que muchas veces encontramos en sus composiciones. Entre 1999 y 2012 han editado 7 LP's y este pasado 2015 han reeditado su segundo LP "A time never come" celebrando los 15 años de su salida al que han añadido dos temas en directo. De los miembros originales de la banda tan solo el bajista y uno de los guitarristas permanecen en la banda habiendo en 2012 salido su cantante de siempre Roberto "Ramon" Messina que ha sido sustituido por Michele Luppi cuya fama le precede por su participación en bandas de primera fila. El power metal melódico con un toque progresivo, en ocasiones muy evidente, de Secret Sphere resulta sencillo de escuchar. Hoy voy a dejar un tema de su segundo LP, "A time never come", de 2001, y dejaré el tema de la versión original, no el regrabado con Luppi a la voz, no por considerarlo malo, ya que es un gran cantante y tampoco me parece mal que hayan regrabado su propio material, es simplemente que el original me parecía un discazo y me lo sigue pareciendo. Hoy quiero dejar el tema "Lady of silence", un gran ejercicio de calidad progresiva y powermetalera casi a partes iguales y un tema que representa francamente bien la calidad que esta banda siempre ha tenido, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Jari Maempaa - Memory

MEMORY

Todos los amantes del death melódico en general, del folk y del llamado viking incluso saben que este nombre, Jari Maempaa está relacionado con fragmentos de pura calidad dentro de estos estilos a los que me acabo de referir, ya que su nombre lo tenemos que relacionar por ejemplo nada menos que con el primer material de Ensiferum o el de Wintersun. Este magnífico músico finlandés intervino como digo, y de forma decisiva en las dos primeras obras de Ensiferum, en mi humilde opinión las mejores, al menos desde luego las que a mi más me gustan, eso si, sin desmerecer la enorme calidad que tras la salida de Maempaa mantuvo Ensiferum y sigue manteniendo a lo largo de toda su carrera, es simplemente subrayar lo extraordinarias que me parecen las dos primeras obras de Ensiferum y el magnífico trabajo que Maempaa en lo vocal y compositivo además de en lo guitarrero hizo con la banda. Ese potencial musical lo siguió demostrando en su proyecto "Wintersun", que fue en cierto modo parte del detonante  de su salida de Ensiferum, y que desde 2004 a centrado principalmente la labor musical de Maempaa, eso si, por desgracia no demasiado productivo. Pues bien, hoy quiero traer un tema perdido del genial músico finlandés, que data de la época en que Ensiferum editaba su primer LP, en 2001, y que sigue más una línea de lo ofrecido en Wintersun que de lo compuesto para Ensiferum, pero igualmente es toda una joya de canción, se llama "Memory", un temazo del que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube, todo un genio este Maempaa.

Canciones para una vida - Sonata Arctica - Wolf And Raven

WOLF AND RAVEN

Otra de las obras de estos finlandeses, perteneciente a la época inicial de su carrera musical, me refiero a su "Silence", segundo larga duración de la banda, de 2001. Como ya he dicho en alguna ocasión en nuestro blog, al hablar de Sonata Arctica siempre se recurre al primer disco, como punto comparativo de su obra, y eso es normal, aunque en ocasiones pueda resultar injusto, pero es que una obra de semejante calibre es algo difícil de igualar, incluso para ellos, y eso en un grupo puede resultar una pesada losa para toda una carrera. Para mi gusto es un poco lo que les ha sucedido a Sonata Arctica, ya que el éxito les llego en este su primer disco, inmediatamente, y el nivel en él demostrado ha sido muy difícil de mantener. Si a esto añadimos la continua experimentación que parecen buscar con su sonido estos músicos, se entiende que, partiendo de la extraordinaria calidad que atesoran, vayan cosechando tanto apasionados defensores de su música como vehementes detractores de la misma. Este disco va bastante en la línea del "Ecliptica" al que me refería. Es por lo tanto una gran obra, con la que siguieron abriéndose camino a nivel internacional. De hecho, con la gira que hicieron al presentar este álbum llegaron a tocar en el continente americano por vez primera en su vida, junto con Gamma Ray. En este disco Tony Kakko, vocalista y teclista de Sonata Arctica se centro más en labores de cantante dejando el tema de teclado para Mikko Harkin, procedente de Kenziner, banda de la que hablaremos en este Blog. Mikko pasó a formar parte del grupo en el año 2000 y dejaría la banda en 2002, tras la gira de la que hablaba con Gamma Ray. Será sustituido por Henrik Klingenberg, quien sigue en el grupo en la actualidad. El disco "Silence" tiene muy buenos temas que se pueden destacar, entre ellos este  "Wolf and Raven", primer single de la obra canción de la que dejo un enlace hoy a youtube de su videoclip oficial.

REACH OUT FOR THE LIGHT

Como todos sabemos Tobias Sammet es el líder, cantante y principal compositor de la banda alemana Edguy. Para Tobias Sammet, un músico tan prolífico como inquieto, el año 2000 supuso un punto de inflexión en su carrera musical. Tras pasar practicamente del anonimato en 1998 al publicar con Edguy la obra "Vain Glory Opera", con el apoyo en la producción de Timo Tolkki de Stratovarius, que recibió grandes criticas y expectación internacional, el grupo confirmo su buen hacer con la siguiente obra "Theater of salvation", de 1999. Habían hecho lo más complicado que era sacar la cabeza, y con nota, y el año 2000 aprovechan para reeditar su disco "The savage poetry" compuesto por Edguy cuando solo tenían apenas 15 años. La mente de Tobias venia dando vueltas bastante tiempo a un proyecto inmenso en el que juntar su concepto musical con músicos de primerísimo nivel, muchos de ellos héroes de su adolescencia no tan lejana, todo ello envuelto en una linea conceptual muy teatral, en que cada músico tomaba a un personaje como propio en una especie de opera rock. De esta manera surge Avantasia, en principio con la aspiración de hacer realidad el sueño de Tobias Sammet en una doble entrega únicamente. En 2001 sale la primera parte, "The metal opera", que consigue un éxito tan fulminante como en cierto modo inesperado. En 2002 la segunda parte "The metal opera parte 2" no hace sino confirmar el buen hacer del proyecto. Este éxito tiene que ver, primero con el buen hacer compositivo de este genial músico, y segundo con su capacidad para haber hecho que músicos de la categoría de los que aquí cantan se juntasen en un proyecto así, músicos como, Michael Kiske, André Matos, Kai Hansen, Rob Rock, David Defeis, Sahron Den Adel, Bob Catley, Oliver Hartmann, Henjo Richter, Markus Grosskopf, Alex Holzwarth, así como el núcleo de su banda Edguy. Este disco del que hoy dejo en el blog otro de sus temas es el que comenzó todo, un disco de gran factura para el lucimiento de grandes dentro de nuestra música, incluido el propio Tobias Sammet. Quiero dejar hoy en el blog la canción "Reach out for the light", con Tobias Sammet flanqueado por Kiske a la voz (Helloween), Henjo Richter a la guitarra (Gamma Ray), Markus Grosskopf al bajo (Helloween), y Alex Holzwarth a la batería (Rhapsody, Angra), otro temazo del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Lost Horizon - Sworn In The Metal Wind

SWORN IN THE METAL WIND

Hablar de Lost Horizon es hacerlo del puro power metal europeo, de calidad en grado máximo y a todos los niveles, y es que una vez más estamos hablando de la escuela sueca, que en estos temas power como en otros muchos suele siempre ser sinónimo de calidad. Si nos paramos a pensar en esto, y conociendo al grupo, a lo breve por desgracia de su carrera, tan solo no asalta una pregunta, como es posible que su historia fuese tan intensa, tan acojonantemente buena a nivel musical y tan corta, por desgracia desconozco la respuesta pero de lo que no cabe duda es de que al menos dejaron para la historia un par de discos antológicos si te gusta el género, dos muestras de su calidad que ya nadie quitará del camino. Lost Horizon estuvieron activos bajo ese nombre entre 1998 y 2004, y aunque siempre ha habido el rumor de su continuidad la verdad es que ya ha transcurrido demasiado tiempo para que sea cierto, antes de denominarse Lost Horizon tocaron bajo el nombre de "Highlander" entre 1990 y 1995, que había sido formado por ex miembros de Hammerfall, y reestructurada a finales de los 90 para cambiarse definitivamente el nombre a Lost Horizon. Como decía su discografía resulta por desgracia demasiado escasa con solo dos LP's "Awakening the world", de 2001 y "A flame to the ground beneath" de 2003. Hoy quiero dejar otro de los temas de su debut, en este caso "Sworn in the metal wind", todo un himno metálico que enseña muy bien lo que fue esta banda, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
