Canciones para una vida - Armory - Forever Triumphant

 

FOREVER  TRIUMPHANT

Un poquito de power estadounidense para hoy encarnado en la banda "Armory", una banda que se forma en 2001 y que ha permanecido en activo desde entonces aunque tan solo editando dos LP's en todo este tiempo. De hecho, la banda en un principio , debido a la carencia de medios graba su debut "The dawn of enlightenment" en 2004 en forma de demo, sin la calidad sonora necesaria y con la intención de promocionar sus cualidades para fichar por una discográfica. Posteriormente, en 2007, reeditan la obra, con más apoyo y medios, dando un sonido mucho más profesional a sus composiciones y de paso aumentando el número de musicos que integraría la banda. Después, 2013 sería la fecha escogida para su segundo LP, "Empyrean Realms", y desde entonces silencio compositivo. El sonido del grupo bebe de la influencia power, más de corte americano, con toques aquí y allá en plan progresivo y con un buen gusto compositivo que en seguida se aprecia. Hoy quiero volver la mirada a su debut, "The dawn of enlightenment", como decía más arriba de 2007, una gran demostración de potencial que auguraba una carrera de mayor producción, pero al final se ha quedado en dos obras. De este debut hoy quiero dejar en el blog el tema "Forever Triumphant", un poco en plan medio tiempo, y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Armory - Eternal Mind

ETERNAL MIND

Armory son un grupo estadounidense que realizan un power metal con algún que otro guiño al metal progresivo, aunque sin abusar. El grupo se forma en 2001, cuando Chad Fisher (guitarra) y Joe Kurland (guitarra y batería), deciden unir sus fuerzas para crear una banda con la intención de realizar una música influida por el power metal de corte tradicional y el heavy metal clásico ochentero dando prominencia a la energía y a la melodía. Con tales premisas deciden grabar su primer larga duración "The dawn of Enlightment", sumándose a la banda Adam Kurland (cantante) y Thomas Preziosi (bajo). Esa obra será editada en forma de demo para tratar de darse a conocer entre las discográficas, pero el bajo presupuesto disponible les imposibilitó para sacar un sonido adecuado. Así, tras continuos arreglos y retoques, en 2005 deciden regrabar su obra, para lo que esta vez cuentan con el ingeniero de sonido y teclísta Peter Rutcho. El sonido mejoró y Rutcho pasó a formar parte de la banda. En 2007 y de forma independiente graban definitivamente su obra editándola para el público, un buen disco del que hablaremos en otra ocasión en el blog. En 2013 sale a la luz el segundo, y hasta la fecha de esta reseña, último disco de estudio de la banda, "Empyrean Realms",  donde se nota a un grupo más hecho y en camino ascendente. Quiero dejar en el blog hoy un tema de esta segunda obra, concretamente "Eternal Mind", que abre esta segunda obra y que da un claro ejemplo del potencial de este buen grupo, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
