BRING  ON  THE  RAIN

Vamos con un grupo de nuevo más orientado al hard melódico, con rasgos absolutamente ochenteros y un aire en ocasiones algo electrónico, los finlandeses Brother Firetribe de los que ya he hablado en el blog en alguna otra ocasión, y las que vendrán porque al final la calidad siempre merece un hueco, al menos en este blog, y estos tíos de eso saben mucho. La carrera de la banda siempre se me ha antojado un tanto irregular, pero solo en el sentido de la continuidad, me resulta demasiado escasa su producción de obras teniendo en cuenta su longevidad, (se formaron en 2002 y cuentan con cinco LP's de estudio, el último de ellos, "feel the burn" de 2020. Desde luego algo tendrá que ver en ello su estrecha relación de compartir miembros con la tambien banda finlandesa "Leverage", de la que he hablado tambien en el blog, tras su disociación definitiva de ambas parece que las dos han alcanzado una mayor velocidad de crucero en sus carreras respectivas. Del citado último LP de la banda hoy quiero dejar en el blog una de sus canciones, en esta ocasión "Bring on the rain", con todos esos elementos que caracterizan el sonido de la banda, y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Brother Firetribe - I Salute You

 

I  SALUTE  YOU

Demos una mirada hacia terrenos más melódicos para repasar un poquito la última de las obras de los finlandeses "Brother Firetribe", uno de esos grupos que desde el inicio de su carrera musical han destacado por la calidad, tanto compositiva como en el apartado de la producción para orientar su sonido al que se hacía en los ochenta pero con ese baño actual técnico.Como siempre que uno se adentra en estos terrenos las criticas hacia el concepto que despliega este grupazo aparecen por parte de algunos, pero lo cierto es que el hecho de suavizar la contundencia no solo no es algo malo, sino que además en no pocas ocasiones es recomendable y enriquecedor. Y en estas estamos, con el quinto album de estudio del grupo, una discografía un tanto escasa, la verdad, si atendemos al hecho de que llevan en activo desde 2002. Su origen mismo fue una colaboración entre miembros de Leverage y Nightwish, y el resultado de su debut, del que ya he hablado en este blog, no pudo terminar de otra manera que perpetuando dicha unión de fuerzas en una banda a tiempo completo. El quinto album de estudio se titula "Feel the burn" y en él se perpetúa una vez más el concepto citado, estos chicos no están por la labor de cambiar ni un ápice, ni falta que les hace, y otra prueba más es por ejemplo el tema que abre la obra, "I Salute You", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Brother Firetribe - Love Goes Down

LOVE GOES DOWN

Cambiamos de tercio en lo que venimos comentando en el blog para asomarnos a un sonido más orientado al hard rock e incluso con claras influencias Aor pero con fuerza y calidad, para referirnos a la banda finlandesa Brother Firetribe. Creados en 2002 por el cantante Pekka Ansio Heino (Leverage) y el guitarrista Emppu Vuorinen (Nightwish), su música es un hard rock de corte moderno, como decía con una cierta carga del Aor americano de los 80 y 90, pero con un gran toque electrónico proveniente de unos teclados omnipresentes que crean una atmosfera muy característica en su música, que en no pocas ocasiones nos recuerda a lo que Pekka hace con "Leverage", aunque con ese toque tan especial de "Brother Firetribe". La alineación del grupo la completan Tromppa Nikulainen (teclados) y Jason Flinck (bajo). Desde sus inicios el proyecto está respaldado por la discográfica "Spinefarm Records", a través de la cual graban su primer larga duración "False Metal", un disco que en su título hace referencia a la consideración  que los llamados grupos "True metal" tipo Manowar hacen de la música Hard Rock sacándola del género metálico. En 2008, y apoyándose en el éxito del proyecto por parte de público, (Sobre todo en Finlandia), y de la crítica internacional editan su segunda obra de estudio, de título "Heart full of fire", más de lo mismo, calidad, buenos estribillos y grandes temas fieles al espíritu del sonido "Brother Firetribe". En 2014 han editado su tercera obra de estudio, "Diamond in the firepit", donde en mi humilde opinión han bajado un pelín el listón, aunque el disco es más que potable. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de 2006, de su debut, "False Metal", en concreto la Balada-medio tiempo "Love goes down", un temazo para escuchar con atención, una canción que me encanta y que me parece muy completa. En definitiva, una música para escuchar sin "etiquetas", pues si le calzas lo de "True o False metal" te perderás lo que sin duda es una buena canción y un grupo más que interesante.
