ICE  DRAGON 

Los italianos Frozen Crown siguen dando pasos adelante en su carrera. consolidando a la banda con cada nueva obra y afianzandose tras la salida de buena parte de su formación. El alma mater de la banda, principal motor compositivo Federico Mondelli, ha ido sustituyendo las piezas que faltaban para seguir dando forma a este proyecto musical que va haciendose un hueco propio en la escena internacional, cada vez con más miembros femeninos, empezando por su vocalista Giada Etro que lidera la formación desde el inicio en 2017. Su quinto trabajo de estudio "War Hearts" salió a la venta en 2024 y de él dejo hoy en el blog otra de sus canciones, "Ice Dragon" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Wind Rose - Home Of The Twilight

 

 HOME  OF  THE  TWILIGHT

Que bien ha sabido buscarse la vida la banda italiana Wind Rose, tras un comienzo muy normal, que solo hacía presagiar una banda más bastante del montón, encontraron la inspiración en el mundo de los enanos, y con ella su identidad, su sitio en la escena internacional, una base sobre la que crecer como banda y desde luego que lo han hecho. En total son ya seis los LP's de la banda, los últimos cuatro completamente centrados en su imagen actual, y del último de ellos, "Trollslayer" de 2024 quiero dejar en el blog otra de sus canciones, concretamente "Home of the twilight" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Ensiferum - The Howl - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  HOWL 

De vuelta al noveno, y a fecha de esta reseña último LP de estudio de los finlandeses Ensiferum, "Winter Storm" de 2024, una obra que consolida definitivamente a la actual formación de la banda con esa incorporación vocal limpia que libera un poco a Petri de su trabajo, repartiendo las funciones vocales y abriendo el espectro para seguramente aumentar sus huestes de seguidores. En lo compositivo este último disco es muy Ensiferum, su sello está presente y mantiene la tradición del grupo. Asterise - Drifting into Darkness - Canciones Para Una Vida

DRIFTING  INTO  DARKNESS

Asterise, banda greco polaca, parece haber comenzado con buen pie su carrera musical iniciada allá por 2018 y que ha dado ya dos frutos en forma de LP, "Two worlds"  de 2022 y "Tale of a wandering soul" de 2024. Enmarcar su sonido es hacerlo en el power de corte europeo en un concepto muy "sueco" digamos, todo un piropo a mi entender, con un toque un tanto neoclásico en ocasiones. Silent Winter - Utopia - Canciones Para Una Vida

UTOPIA

Hagamos un nuevo asalto a la cada vez más fiable escena griega para reconocer en esta otra banda el excelente estado de salud de la citada escena. Son Silent Winter, un grupo formado en 1995 pero reactivado en 2018 fecha en la que comienzan a publicar material de estudio más allá de las demos iniciales de su carrera. Haunter - Before The Storm - Canciones Para Una Vida

BEFORE  THE  STORM

La escena brasileña sigue sacando bandas, (de todo tipo, interesantes como estos Haunter y otras digamos menos), la tradición del power brasileño se remonta a los inevitables Angra noventeros y Viper antes que ellos, y siempre marcaron la escena del país en ese sentido (power). En 2012, y cultivando también la vertiente heavy, se forma esta banda que hoy traigo al blog, Haunter, quienes inicialmente se tomaron con calma su carrera editando tres EP's en practicamente una década para en 2021 editar su debut en formato LP al que en 2024 sigue este "Tales of the seven Seas"del que hoy dejo en el blog una de sus canciones, "Before the storm" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

SONS  OF  THE  STORM

Vamos con una banda relativamente nueva, y utilizo lo de nueva no tanto por su año de formación, que se remonta ya a 2016, como por haber en todo este tiempo, publicado solo dos LP's de estudio, (2019 y 2024), eso sí, desde luego han mostrado calidad reconocida internacionalmente desde el primer momento de su carrera. formados en Alemania en 2016 como decía más arriba, su sonido es un heavy power, que recurre a las fórmulas de ambos géneros con acierto compositivo y cierta facilidad en la escucha para todos los públicos, es otra banda que si hace bien las cosas subirá a nivel global en los próximos años, sobre todo si se toman menos tiempo entre obras en este mundo actual tan inmediato que hace muy difícil que nada que no este a la vista permanezca en la memoria de la mayoría. Angelic Forces - Force To Fight - Canciones Para Una vida

FORCE  TO  FIGHT

Desde Holanda hoy otra banda más de reciente formación, aunque sería más apropiado decir de reciente puesta en marcha, ya que a pesar de formarse en 2015, Angelic Forces no editan nada más que un EP hasta 2018, siendo 2022 la fecha de publicación de, hasta la fecha de esta reseña, su único LP de estudio "Arise" al que ha seguido el single en 2024 "Force to fight" re editado al incialmente encontrarse en su EP debut en 2018. Estamos ante un sonido heavy metal, con un cierto aire a hard 'n heavy, de hecho en el tema que dejo hoy en el blog se me dan un aire incluso a los Skid Row de sus mejores momentos. RETURN  OF  THE  PHANTOM

La banda estadounidense Void se forma en 2019 y a fecha de esta reseña, tan solo tiene un único LP de estudio publicado, "Horros of reality" de 2023, al que sumar desde 2021 en adelante un puñado de singles, el ultimo de ellos del pasado 2024. Hablamos de un sonido que apunta hacia un thrash pero con un plus melódico, que en no pocas ocasiones bordea el heavy speed metal de corte clásico. Orden Ogan - The Long darkness - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  LONG  DARKNESS

Volvamos de nuevo a la última obra de estudio de los alemanes Orden Ogan, un ejemplo casi prototípico de como hacer power metal de corte europeo de manual, una banda cada vez más importante que además a través de su lider Sebastian Levermann extiende su legado sobre el sonido de otras muchas bandas a las que produce y ayuda en cuestiones técnicas. El octavo trabajo de la banda, "The order of fear" del pasado 2024 es como digo solo la enésima demostración de su línea de trabajo, esa pulcritud, esa facilidad para generar ese sonido propio, lleno de ganchos pero con tiempo para momentos más elaborados, y siempre con un trasfondo épico como en el tema que cierra la obra "The long darkness" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Swards - Secret Lies - Canciones Para Una Vida

SECRET  LIES

Vamos con otra banda relativamente nueva, los brasileños Swards, y digo relativamente ya que llevan desde 2016 como banda aunque tan solo han editado un EP en 2018 al que han seguido varios singles que parecen preparar un primer LP del que aún no tengo conocimiento. Estamos hablando de la escena brasileña, que tiene una gran actividad aunque creo que hay muchas diferencias entre la calidad de la bandas, pero mirandose en el espejo de Angra, estos Swards deben meterse en el saco de los que prometen dar que hablar para bien en un futuro esperemos que próximo. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog uno de esos últimos singles, concretamente "Secret Lies" de 2024, canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Electric Tomb - The Black Knight - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  BLACK  KNIGHT

Vamos con una banda que se ha adaptado a una manera diferente de hacer las cosas, al margen de discográficas y a base de single y EP's cada poco tiempo, estamos ante esta otra manera de intentarlo, por tu cuenta y riesgo, eso puede ir en perjuicio de promoción y a veces de una mayor calidad productiva, pero por otra parte tienes ante tí toda la libertad posible para hacer lo que te parezca. Se trata de Electric Tomb, tras el que está el estadounidense Guy LeMay, quien se encarga de todo, lo técnico y la interpretación, escogiendo un marco sonoro de heavy doom. Comienza su andadura en 2020, publicando su primer EP en 2021, desde su comienzo un total de nueve singles y otros tantos EP's conforman su discografía. De uno de sus EP's quiero dejar en el blog una de sus canciones, en concreto del último de sus EP's "Black Knight" de 2024, quiero dejar el tema que lo da nombre y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Powerdream - Hell Ride - Canciones Para Una Vida

HELL  RIDE

Powerdream, otra banda de las que se van buscando la vida, unida a un nombre, en este caso al uruguayo SantyDark Jett, enmarcando el sonido del proyecto en un heavy power, con un aire electrónico y ochentero como puede apreciarse incluso en la estética de la portada. Powerdream comienza a publicar material en 2022, y desde entonces dos EP's y dos LP's  conforman su discografía. Hoy quiero dejar el último material publicado por la banda, el single "Hell Ride" no incluido en su segundo LP "Beast Unleashed" de 2024, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Bronze - Tale Of Revenge - Canciones Para Una Vida

 

TALE  OF  REVENGE

Vamos con otra banda desconocida que va poco a poco dando sus primeros pasos, en esta ocasión una colaboración internacional entre España y Suecia, se trata de Bronze, un proyecto de heavy metal de mimbres clásicos, con voz femenina y el empuje de uno de esos músicos que parecen apuntarse a todo proyecto que cae a su lado, el guitarrista sueco Cederick Forsberg, cuyo curriculum de bandas y proyectos es larguísimo y de los cuales muchos ya han sido mencionados en este blog, un músico de esos que se hacen notar que dejan su sello personal en aquello que tocan. Bronze como tal se forma en 2023 aunque de las cenizas de la banda Kramp, que llevaba desde 2010 en activo. En ese citado 2023 junto con el cambio de nombre se apunta al proyecto Cederick, y en 2024 el grupo lanza su debut como Bronze, "In chains and shadows", del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog una de sus canciones, concretamente "Tale of revenge" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

PEG  LEG  SILLY  BILLY

Hablemos de una artista de esas que se han sabido hacer a si mismas, haciendose un hueco poco a poco en la escena colaborando con artistas y formando parte de alguna banda para encontrar su propio camino desde el principio sobre todo con auto promoción, y claro, buen hacer. En 2024 edita su LP "Tavern" en el que muestra una serie de colaboraciones de primer nivel dentro de nuestro sonido, por ejemplo Marco Hietala o Christopher Bowes, tema este precisamente "Peg Leg Silly Billy" del que quiero dejar en el blog un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Dragonrider - Ride The Dragon

RIDE  THE  DRAGON

Otra banda desconocida que aún está en los primeros pasos compositivos de su carrera a pesar de que los germanos Dragonrider provengan de las cenizas de otras bandas y que lleven bajo esa denominación ya desde 2007, pero que solo un LP adorne su discografía, al que unir dos EP's (2009 y 2024). Hablamos de un power heavy metal de corte europeo y aspiraciones épicas con marcos fantásticos. Las suizas Burning Witches siguen su camino adelante compositivamente hablando con un par de singles aislados el recién pasado 2024, tras su cuarto trabajo en formato LP "The dark tower" de 2023, en lo que puede interpretarse como un hipotético avance aún sin confirmar de un quinto album para este 2025. Canciones para una vida - Crimson Valley - Last Battle

LAST  BATTLE

Volvamos hoy a la bastante prolífica escena polaca, otra de las que han crecido ultimamente en cantidad y calidad de bandas, para acercarnos al material de Crimson Valley, un grupo que lleva ya unos años en activo, concretamente desde 2009, a pesar de que su producción discográfica no sea precisamente grande, tan solo un LP en este tiempo, ("crossing the sky" de 2012), al que han seguido solo dos EP's, "Halls of victory" en 2015, y en este 2024 "Storm", casi uná década después del último material editado y que esperemos sea el pistoletazo de salida para una época con mayor continuidad. En cuanto al sonido del grupo, encontramos un heavy power metal bastante de concepción europea, vocalista femenina con una forma de cantar bastante heavy, alejada de los estereotipos sinfónico operísticos, (algo que algunos agradecemos), y que sin inventar nada nuevo en absoluto si que resulta bastante agradable al oido.
