STARGAZER

Banda clásica, importante por trayectoria, miembros e influencia, e igualmente disco clásico, fundamental para entender globalmente nuestro sonido, con temas de esos que han de considerarse eternos, versionados hasta la saciedad. Hablamos de Rainbow, la banda británica  y de su obra "Rising" de 1976, por lo tanto hablamos de la época previa a que el heavy metal fuese denominado como tal, en ese momento en que aún se estaba gestando y los de Blackmore (y Dio), tuvieron su parte de culpa en ello. De uno de los mencionados temas versionados dejo hoy en el blog la versión original, "Stargazer" temazo del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Rainbow - The Shed

THE  SHED

Toca repaso histórico, una vez más, y de hecho una vez más grandes nombres acuden a la cabeza, hoy Rainbow, con los Blackmore, Dio, Joe Lynn Turner, Rondinelli, y un largo etc de estrellas y músicos brillantes que han dado forma a la banda a lo largo de las décadas. Hoy, mirando a la parte inicial de su carrera, es decir a los 70 quiero recuperar una de las canciones de su tercer LP de estudio, "Long live rock 'n roll", de 1978, con Blackmore, Dio, Powel, Daisly y Stone, repoker de ases que nos dejaron una magnífica obra ese año, como atestigua por ejemplo la canción "The Shed" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Rainbow - Run With The Wolf

RUN  WITH  THE  WOLF

Vamos con los primeros pasos musicales de una de esas bandas influyentes unidas a nombres míticos que tanto ayudaron a la evolución y engrandecimiento de nuestro sonido, hablamos de Rainbow. Evidentemente sobran las presentaciones, su nombre y su música hablan suficientemente de ellos, de su importancia, y si echamos la vista atrás, a sus inicios a mitad de los 70, entendemos como desde el principio de su carrera pusieron el listón bien alto, atrayendo las miradas hacia lo que hacían en ese camino a equidistante entre el hard rock y el heavy metal. Su segundo LP, "Rising" de 1976, les hacía dueños de un sonido atractivo, imitable, con solo seis temas en poco más de media hora pero entre los que están algunos clásicos metálicos muy versionados. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog uno de esos seis temas, concretamente "Run with the wolf" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Rainbow - All Night Long

 

ALL  NIGHT  LONG

No podía faltar en el blog una de esas bandas unidas a un nombre sobre todo, inmenso, pero no solo, también a muchos otros en un momento u otro, tambien gigantes en esto de la música, otra de esas bandas fundamentales por lo hecho, la influencia, la historia, son "Rainbow". El nombre tras la creación es Ritchie Blackmore, un mito al que no hace falta presentar. La banda unió además las sendas musicales de nombres como Dio, Cozy Powel, Don Airey, Graham Bonnet, Bobby Rondinelli, Joe Lynn Turner, o Doogey White entre otros, menudo plantel, casi eso justificaría en si mismo la calidad. Rainbow nace en 1975, una vez más como vehiculo natural del músico Ritchie Blackmore para dar salida a material bajo su propia perspectiva que de otra forma no salidría con su por entonces banda madre Deep Purple, de hecho, Blackmore deja Deep Purple en la parte inicial del nacimiento de Rainbow. Quizá pretendía dar un giro menos heavy a su sonido, aunque los inicios de Rainbow, sobre todo también gracias a la voz de Dio no terminaban de ir por ese camino. En 1978 Dio sale de la banda y es sustituido por Graham Bonnet, con quien hace un giro más hard rockero. En ese momento de su historia, en 1979, editan "Down To Earth", el cuarto ya LP de la banda, El primero con Bonnet y sin Dio, y del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog uno de sus temas, concretamente el que abre el disco, "All night long", y que irá en el blog etiquetado con la fecha 1980 ya que en ese año fue editado en formato maxi single con el tema instrumental "Weiss Heim" también muy recomendable y que no aparecía en el citado album, un tema este "All night long" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
