Canciones para una vida - Black Abyss - Time

TIME

Ya hablé en el blog hace un par de años de este grupo alemán, "Black Abyss", un grupo desconocido pero con una larga historia detrás, aunque igualmente, a pesar de su existencia de ya casi tres décadas su producción musical es absolutamente escasa,(cuatro LP's hasta la fecha de esta reseña), aunque sin duda interesantes en general pues si hay algo que define el sonido de este grupo es lo difícil de acotarlo en un solo subgénero o estilo. Nos encontramos ante un versátil conjunto que se nutre del concepto clásico saltando del heavy metal sin más al power y en ocasiones casi al speed, según el momento de cada canción, no por LP's. Resulta pues un ejercicio de escucha completa de su discografía, el que nos permitirá hacernos una idea más acertada de lo que nos parece en general la banda, dependiendo de nuestras expectativas. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una canción de su tercer LP, "Angels wear black", de 2004, concretamente una canción muy power, en la línea del power europeo que se hacía en la época de la obra, titulada "Time", y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Black Abyss - Eye Of The Storm

EYE  OF  THE  STORM

Black Abyss es una banda alemana cuya música bordea varios estilos, tomando elementos de aquí y allá para formar un sonido propio pero que bebe de la base del power-heavy metal tradicional de corte europeo. La banda tiene tras ellos una trayectoria tan larga como poco reconocida, en parte quizá por su corta productividad ya que se formaron nada menos que en 1990 pero no editaron material propio hasta 1998. Además, desde ese 98 han editado un total de cuatro LP's formando una discografía que se antoja bastante escasa para pretensiones internacionales más altas. Sin embargo, si uno se sumerge en su discografía, se dará cuenta de los muy buenos momentos que se pueden disfrutar con sus composiciones encontrando regustos en muchos de sus temas a diferentes bandas de renombre. Así, por ejemplo en el tema que hoy dejo en el blog, "Eye of the storm" no será raro que la mente nos traiga el recuerdo de Hansi Kursch y Blind Guardian, sobre todo a nivel coros. Como digo, la banda ha editado cuatro discos de estudio y hoy quiero dejar un tema de la segunda obra, "Land of Darkness", el citado "Eye of the storm" que es una buena canción para descubrir a este grupo, una vez más demasiado anónimo para sus buenas virtudes, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
