SIGNS 

La escena germana siempre destacó, desde muy temprano, por su capacidad para sacar bandas en cantidad y calidad, y el subgénero Power, y las décadas de los 90 y los 2000, fueron un combo poderoso para llenar la escena internacional de bandas de la citada nacionalidad. Uno de esos grupos fueron "Galloglass", uno de esos grupos además de los que tuvieron  un periodo de actividad demasiado corto, con apenas un par de LP's de estudio donde plasmaron un power de alta calidad. 2003 y 2005 fueron los aos escogidos para publicar su único material de estudio. Del segundo de ellos "Heavenseeker" quiero hoy dejar en el blog uno de sus temas, en concreto "Signs" tema que muestra ben el enorme potencial que atesoraban que les habría tenido que hacer poseedores de una mas larga carrera, canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Galloglass - Dragons Revenge

DRAGONS REVENGE

Galloglass fue una banda alemana de power metal, una de tantas con una breve vida en la escena musical internacional. Se crea en 1999 bajo el nombre de Gallowglass, (nombre que hace referencia a soldados de élite, mercenarios que habitaban en las montañas del norte de Escocia entre los siglos XIII y XVI). Cambian su nombre a Galloglass con el cambio de siglo, y su periodo de actividad se extiende hasta el año 2007 en el que definitivamente se separan. Atendiendo al nombre escogido por la banda es fácil deducir que la temática de su música era la fantasía, batallas, guerreros, magia o dragones pueblan la lírica de sus canciones, como decía al comienzo en clave de un power metal muy de corte europeo, y muy lógico sabiendo que algunos de los músicos que componían la banda eran ex integrantes de grupos como "Canon",  "Seventh Avenue", "Human Fortress" o "Mystic Prophecy". Tienen editados únicamente dos discos de estudio, "Legends from now and nevermore", de 2003, y "Heavenseeker" de 2005. A pesar de su corta producción conviene dar una escucha a su obra pues los discos contienen buenos temas que han de ser del agrado del amante del género. Hoy quiero dejar un tema de su primer disco de estudio, ""Legends from now and nevermore", como decía de 2003, en concreto "Dragons Revenge", que nos da una buena idea de lo que va la música de esta banda, canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
