Han pasado muchos años ya del segundo trabajo de estudio de los finlandeses "Thaurorod", concretamente desde 2013, y durante todo este tiempo sigo teniendo la misma sensación con la obra, y es como si le faltase "filo" a las canciones. Tras el enormemente interesante debut de 2010, "Upon haunted battlefields", llegaron cambios a la banda en lo que a formación se refiere, en concreto ma refiero al puesto de cantante, con la incorporación de Andi Kravljaca, sobre todo conocido por sus trabajos con "Seventh Wonder" y "Silent Call", lo que prometía una mejora en la capacidad del grupo. Y, desde luego, en lo referente al tema técnico no hay ningún "pero" que poner, en todos los apartado se nota una capacidad técnica asombrosa, incluido el punto vocal en el que sin duda es un cantante Andi mucho más dotado que Markku Kuikka. El problema creo que reside en las composiciones en si mismas, con un cierto cambio estilístico un tanto más "progresivo" sis e quiere. De todas maneras, en su siguiente obra se ha ido solucionando este particular, y esperemos que en futuros trabajos la mejora sigua en marcha. Pero con bandas de tanat calidad y potencial siempre se puede destacar algo, y del disco de 2013. "Anteinferno" quiero hoy destacar uno de esos momentos más acertados, como en mi opinión es este "Path" del que hoy dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Thaurorod - Coast Of Gold

COAST  OF  GOLD

Tercer LP de la banda finlandesa "Thaurorod", del presente 2018, un disco que ya de entrada me ha resultado mejor que su anterior "Anteinferno" con solo unas pocas escuchas. Ya he hablado de esta banda en el blog y los que hayan leído mis anteriores reseñas ya sabrán de mi opinión sobre la evolución del grupo. En 2012 hay un cambio de alineación en algunos puestos de la banda, en concreto teclados y voz. Evidentemente la calidad de los músicos sustitutos está fuera de toda duda, pero igualmente me gustaría romper una lanza en favor de los sustituidos, de hecho, a día de hoy y con ya tres LP's del grupo en marcha posiblemente en su conjunto siga siendo el primero de ellos "Upon haunted battlefields" de 2010 el que más me guste, sin embargo, como decía al inicio de esta reseña, este tercer trabajo me transmite unas mejores sensaciones que su anterior "Anteinferno" de 2013, con un Andi Kravljaca a la voz recién enrolado y con una trayectoria en bandas prometedoras, tales como "Silent Call" o "Seventh Wonder" que percía augurar un éxito mayor, pero, en mi humilde opinión, se descuidó más el aspecto compositivo, quizás excesivamente progresivo y carente de filo, algo mucho más resuelto, para mi gusto, en esta tercera obra. El caso es que parecen acompañar mucho más las composiciones a un, por otra parte, escelente producto sonoro en cuaetiones técnicas, de producción impecable e interpretación intachable, valga como ejemplo este "Coast of gold" que da nombre a la obra y del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial, un clip por cierto que será del interés de todo aquel que, como es también mi caso, sea aficionado al dibujo, ya que muestra un video del proceso de creación de la fantástica portada del album.

Canciones para una vida - Thaurorod - Tormented No More

TORMENTED NO MORE

La inacabable cantera finlandesa no deja de producir buenos grupos, un ejemplo más son Thaurorod, grupo que debe su nombre a la lengua Quenya, lengua mitológica, también llamada alto élfico o lengua de los elfos de Valinor, sacada de la mente de Tolkien y en la que Thaurorod significa Montaña del mal. Eso ya nos puede servir para ver por donde pueden ir los tiros musicales de esta banda, con un power metal basado en fantasía, con algunos pasajes instrumentales y un cierto toque épico. Thaurorod se forma en 2002 en Jokela, Finlandia, funcionando en el mundillo underground con 3 demos de 2005, 6, y 7, hasta que en 2010 sacan su primer disco de estudio "Upon Haunted Battlefields" que les sirve como buena presentación internacional. En este disco el vocalista es Markku Kuikka, actualmente en funciones vocales con Kenziner, que aparece solo en esta obra de Thaurorod pues sería sustituido por Andi Kravljaca, de un nivel vocal superior, y de cierta fama por su labor en Silent Call o Seventh Wonder. Sin embargo, a nivel compositivo, el siguiente y último disco de Thaurorod, Anteinferno, de 2013, me parece bastante peor que su primera obra. Pues bien, hoy me quiero remontar al tiempo de sus inicios, en concreto a su segunda demo, "Tales of the end", de 2006, para dejar una canción en el blog de esta época, en concreto "Tormented No More", donde se puede apreciar el talento de esta banda desde sus inicios, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
