Amorphis - Fog To Fog

FOG  TO  FOG 

Poco que añadir al propio nombre de Amorphis, ya se ha dicho todo y ellos ya lo hacen con cada nueva obra de estudio que no hace sino agrandar su leyenda entre propios y extraños que dejan de serlo para la banda a poco que le presten atención a su material. Siempre la calidad por estandarte, siempre el buen gusto compositivo, la fuerza y la melodía a partes iguales, con un punto de necesidad de atención a través del lado progresivo que insinúan, unos auténticos maestros que se conocen perfectamente y simplemente llevan a cabo su plan. Otra de las canciones de su décimo sexto LP de estudio y último de la banda a fecha de esta reseña para ilustrar lo dicho, hoy "Fog to fog", épica, de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su Lyric video oficial.

Poco más de un mes nos queda para la salida oficial de la nueva obra de estudio de los finlandeses Amorphis, y mientras esperamos la salida de "Borderland" no puede uno por menos que acercarse a cada adelanto que el grupo nos va dejando a modo de miguitas antes del banquete. Va acercandose poco a poco la fecha de salida de la nueva obra de estudio de los finlandeses Amorphis ("Borderland" 26 de septiembre de este 2025), una de esas bandas seguro de vida absoluto, alcanzando un nivel ya casi de mito y que sigue aumentando su legion de seguidores obra tras obra. Amorphis - Light And Shadow - Canciones Para Una vida

 

LIGHT  AND  SHADOW 

Los finlandeses Amorphis son otra de esas bandas que con solo el hecho de anunciar material nuevo atraen las miradas del planeta metálico por completo, y es normal y merecido, una banda que obra tras obra muestra el nivel enorme que muestra Amorphis es sin duda una banda a la que mirar en cada propuesta que haga. Su anterior trabajo fue publicado en 2022 y este "Borderland", cuya salida oficial está prevista para el 26 de septiembre, será ya su décimo sexto album de estudio del que ya han dejado su primer adelanto, "Light and shadow" del que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube de su lyric video oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Amorphis - The Wolf

 

THE  WOLF

El tema que más me ha gustado de la nueva obra de los finlandeses "Amorphis" ha sido este "The Wolf", pero una vez más quiero referirme a la calidad conjunta de toda la discografía en general y de este disco en particular, que no es una excepción, siempre se distingue la fórmula tan repetida como perfectamente ejecutada por este grupo, que se conoce a la prefección e igualmente conoce muy bien lo que sus fans demandan satisfaciendo al 100% las expectativas creadas. Joutsen y Holopainen lideran desde lo interpretativo a lo compositivo con infinito acierto e infinita capacidad creativa quedando patente en cada descarte que luego aparece como bonus track que ya quisieran muchas bandas firmar como tema central de sus obras, en definitiva, Amorphis es una mezcla perfecta de elementos y músicos que pare canciones de la talla de este "The wolf" que hoy dejo en el blog a ttravés de este enlace a youtube.

NORTHWARDS

Siempre me termina pasando lo mismo con las obras que van sacando los finlandeses Amorphis, con pocas escuchas noto esa necesidad de escuchar sus temas una y otra vez, dejandome claro a mi mismo que se trata de una de mis bandas preferidas y en general creo que de una de las bandas del panorama internacional con más garantías para generar obras de calidad. Este décimo quinto LP de estudio de la banda, "Halo", recien salido a la luz este pasado 11 de febrero no es una excepción, y seguramente seguiré acudiendo a él en más ocasiones. El segundo de los adelantos del ya décimo quinto LP de estudio de los finlandeses Amorphis tiene por título "On the dark waters", y muestra el camino compositivo de la obra "Halo" cuya salida oficial será el ya inminente 11 de febrero de este 2022. Una vez más nos sirve de confirmación de lo que se puede esperar de la banda, para mi una de esas bandas que son un seguro absoluto de vida, fieles al sendero que han recorrido en las últimas obras y que les hadado ese crecimiento y respeto general apoyado siempre en su calidad. Primer single de adelanto del nuevo disco de los finlandeses "Amorphis", un disco que llevará por título "Halo" y que verá la luz a mediados del mes de febrero de este inminente 2022. El citado single lleva por título "The Moon" y se trata de una canción que desde el inicio muestra la identidad de la banda, muy reconocible como no podría ser de otra manera. la verdad es que con este grupo no puedo ser muy objetivo ya que es una de esas bandas que aparentemente todo lo que componen me gusta, uno de esos grupos que veo como un seguro de vida, y no creo que sea el único, parece haber un consenso general sobre la calidad de la banda. de nuevo por lo tanto un death melódico, con aires progresivos y veremos también si folk en este nuevo album. Canciones para una vida - Amorphis - Winter's Sleep

 

WINTER'S  SLEEP

Menuda pedazo de obra, (una vez más) nos dejaron los finlandeses Amorphis en 2015 bajo el nombre de "Under the red cloud", particularmente antológica en una discografía llena de aciertos y en una imparable linea ascendente en todos los sentidos dentro de una carrera ya larga, (desde 2019), que en este 2021 promete darnos un capitulo más ya que la banda ya ha entrado hace tiempo al estudio para dar su siguiente paso. Si no lo editan este año lo harán a comienzos del siguiente, contodas las mencionadas garantías de calidad, uno de esos grupos que son un seguro de vida. Volviendo al ya mencionado en varias ocasiones en el blog "under the red cloud" de 2015, otra de sus muestras de poderío como obra es la calidad de sus bonus, como el que hoy dejo en el blog, un tema que muchos quisieran como single central de una obra, "Winter's sleep", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.Amorphis, sinónimo siempre de calidad, que más se puede pedir.

Canciones para una vida - Amorphis - Battle For Light

BATTLE  FOR  LIGHT

De nuevo una de las bandas más en forma del momento, en una carrera tan larga como exitosa, con etapas distintas sobre todo encarnadas en la presencia o no de Tomy Joutsen en el grupo, una influencia que ha hecho crecer exponencialmente al grupo encumbrandolo a la cima en la que actualmente se mantiene pro derecho propio y por aclamación popular de un amplio espectro del panorama metálico dentro de los seguidores, y es que la amplitud compositiva de una banda como esta con la calidad añadida por defecto hace que la repercusión de sus trabajos trascienda un solo subgénero. Hoy quiero volver a la época "Joutsen", para referirme al décimo disco de estudio del grupo, "The Beginning of times", obra que era la heredera de un momento excepcional de la banda tras la entrega anterior de su aclamado "Skyforger" de 2009. Un disco este "Begining of times" de 2011 que toma bien el relevo de su predecesor, volviendo un poco si se quiere a unas raíces más death, aunque siempre con el sello melódico, de coros impolutos de la era "Joutsen", con ese ir y venir del sonido aspero al limpio en una transición perfecta, en su justa medida en cada uno de los apartados. Buen ejemplo de la calidad de la obra es la canción que la abre, "Battle for light", de la que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

DAY  OF  YOUR  BELIEFS

Un nuevo vistazo a la discografía de los finlandeses "Amorphis", un ejercicio que siempre resulta apropiado, en cada época diferente que ha ido atravesando la banda ha tenido siempre la calidad como nexo en común. y ese es un activo a tener en cuenta. Hoy quiero traer al blog el sexto disco de estudio del grupo, "Far From The Sun", de 2003, el último de los discos sin Tomi Joutsen a la voz, es decir, desde esa perspectiva estamos ante el fin de un ciclo y el comienzo en adelante de una época de mayor reconocimiento general de la banda. Sin embargo siempre, como decía al inicio, el grupo ha contado con la calidad como constante, y esta obra de 2003 no es una excepción, siendo una vez más una obra absolutamente recomendable de la que destacan muchos temas, como por ejemplo la canción que hoy dejo en el blog, el primer single de la obra, "Day of your beliefs" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

 Una vez más, si de lo que se trata es de opositar al mejor disco de 2018, "Amorphis" sin duda debe ser tenido en cuenta. Pero ya a estas alturas debemos reconocer que siempre que la banda finlandesa decide regalarnos una de sus obras es más que probable que prácticamente entera pueda ser considerada como opositora a mejor disco del año en cuestión. Ya muchas veces lo he dicho de este grupo y no me repetiré más, tan solo dejar en el blog otra de las canciones recogidas en su décimo cuarto LP, "Queen Of Time" de 2018, en esta ocasión "The golden Elk" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

HONEYFLOW

Otra de las canciones de la última obra de los finlandeses Amorphis, banda en forma como pocas, sus trabajos por lo general suelen ser sinónimo de calidad, y además en conjunto, es uno de esos grupos cuyas obras tienen un gran peso en total, no por temas sueltos. Sinceramente creo que estamos ante uno de los discos de este 2018, y mucho me temo que al final iré dejando en el blog todos y cada uno de los temas de este "Queen of time". Para no resultar más repetitivo tan solo dejar un enlace a la canción que hoy quiero dejar, "Honeyflow", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube, una canción que sirvió de single de adelanto y curiosamente luego no estaba incluida en la versión normal de la obra, sino que aparece como bonus track en la edición especial japonesa. Ya en muchas ocasiones he mostrado mi gusto por esta fenomenal banda finlandesa, "Amorphis", de la que he dejado ya en el blog varias canciones. Hoy recurro nuevamente a la última de sus obras editadas a fecha de esta reseña, "Queen of time", de 2018 para dejar otra de sus canciones, y además en esta ocasión para hacerlo refiriéndome a uno de los descartes del disco luego añadida como bonus track, "Brother and sister", lo que habla una vez más del potencial de esta banda, una de las que más en forma está del panorama internacional y una de esas en que la mayoría de la gente está de acuerdo en reconocer su calidad. También es evidente que reservarse una buena canción como bonus track puede aumentar las ventas de discos en forma de ediciones especiales etc, ya que todo hoy en día esta más que estudiado siempre que los intereses económicos están en medio. Sea como fuere, "Brother and sister" es otra gran canción de Amorphis y de ella quiero hoy dejar un enlace a youtube.

WRONG  DIRECTION

Como ya en muchas ocasiones he dicho en el blog, Amorphis en nuestro mundo musical es sinónimo de calidad, una calidad cada vez más asequible al gran público, hasta el punto de haber llegado a ser una de esas bandas que venden simplemente ante la perspectiva de sacar material nuevo, como es el caso. Ante la inminente salida de forma oficial de la nueva obra, "Queen Of Time", que se espera para mañana viernes 18 de Mayo, quiero hoy dejar en el blog el segundo de los adelantos de la misma, "Wrong direction", una canción que no puede sino ratificar lo dicho anteriormente en relación a la calidad de un grupo que no para de crecer en cuanto a creatividad y número de fans y que despierta aún más si cabe las ganas de tener ya entre las manos este décimo cuarto disco de estudio. BAD  BLOOD

Siempre es un buen momento para repasar las discografía de una banda como Amorphis, cada día que pasa con mayor reconocimiento, seguidores y consenso general de que nos encontramos ante uno de los mejores grupos del panorama internacional actual. Además, ahora que estamos a la espera de la próxima salida de la que será su décimo cuarto Lp de estudio, "Queen of time" que se espera para el 18 de mayo, parece que entran más ganas de repasar lo ya hecho por la banda, y en esa situación siempre es genial recurrir a su anterior trabajo, el último editado a fecha de esta reseña, "Under the red cloud" de 2015, sin duda para mi el disco de ese año, y del que se podrían destacar practicamente todos sus temas, y del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog este "Bad Blood", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Amorphis - The Bee

THE  BEE


Ya tenemos aquí el primer single de adelanto del que será el décimo tercer disco de estudio "Queen of time", de la banda finlandesa Amorphis, que verá de forma oficial la luz este próximo 18 de Mayo de 2018. Para la ocasión la banda, y a tenor de lo escuchado en este primer adelanto, "The Bee", mantiene el concepto musical que viene realizando en sus últimas producciones, contundencia y melodía a partes iguales en una exquisita producción ya marca de la casa. Así pues, si te gustan las anteriores obras de este grupazo estas de enhorabuena, al menos en lo que al adelanto se refiere porque encontraras más de lo mismo. Para esta obra, además regresa el bajista que lo fuese durante la primera parte de la historia de la banda, Olli-Pekka Laine, pudiendo apreciarse sin duda que lo de la estabilidad dentro de este grupo es algo digno de mención, pues todos los miembros llevan juntos entre 20 y casi 30 años tocando juntos, mención aparte del cantante Tomi Joutsen que se une a Amorphis en 2005, pero que ha sido clave para el sonido actual de la banda, mucho más "para todos los públicos". En definitiva, en esto de la música, como en tantas otras cosas casi nada es porque sí, la prueba, por ejemplo Amorphis. Canciones para una vida - Amorphis - Under The Red Cloud

UNDER THE RED CLOUD

Tras la marcha definitiva de Pasi Koskinen en el puesto de vocalista,Tommi Joutsen entra en el grupo y eso cambió bastante el devenir del grupo, pues desde su entrada su popularidad y éxito fueron en aumento, fichaje por "Nuclear Blast" y sus últimas cinco obras, (con Tommi Joutsen), les han llevado a ser una de las bandas más reconocidas de Europa. Hoy quiero hablar de la última parte de su historia para referirme de nuevo a su último disco hasta la fecha de esta reseña, "under the red cloud", el sexto disco con Joutsen al frente, una obra que me ha parecido sin duda uno de los mejores discos de 2015, muy completa con un giro quizá un poco más Folk, con incluso algunas reminiscencias a bandas como Amon Amarth, Eluveitie o Ensiferum como ocurre sobre todo en algunos temas. hoy quiero dejar otro de sus temas, en esta ocasión el que da nombre a la obra, "under the red cloud", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

SKY  IS  MINE

Nuevamente estos finlandeses en el blog, en esta ocasión para referirme a su novena obra de estudio, "Skyforger", de 2009, magnifica obra en conjunto de la que es sencillo destacar canciones, en plural. Como ya he dicho en otras ocasiones la banda se forma en 1990, cuando Jan Rechberger y Esa Holopainen, provenientes de un grupo Thrash en el que por entonces estaban metidos, llamado "Violent Solution", deciden enfocar sus esfuerzos musicales a un nuevo proyecto, más enfocado hacia el death metal, enrolándose entonces Tomi Koivusaari como cantante y Oppu Laine como bajista, editando en 1991 una demo "Disment of soul" a través de los "TTT Studios", nada menos que de Timo Tolkki. En 1991 editan su primer sencillo "Amorphis" que les da la ocasión de firmar con "Relapse records" quien se encargaría de editar sus dos primeros LP's. El primero de estos LP's fue "The Karelian Ishtmus" en 1992, seguido de un EP, "Privilege of evil" en 1993 y de su segundo Larga Duración " Tales from a thousand lakes" en 1994. A lo largo de su carrera musical han editado 12 LP's y 3 EP's, además de los muchos Singles como corresponde a una banda con tanto potencial de ventas como esta. La banda ha tenido bastante estabilidad con los años en escena, Esa Holopainen y Tomi Koivusaari, son los dos únicos miembros que han estado presentes en cada una de las obras de Amorphis, aunque Jan Rechberger o Pasi Koskinen han ido y venido estando presentes en la mayoría de sus trabajos, así, en general varios músicos han ocupado los puestos de la banda pero yendo y viniendo siempre alrededor de esta gran banda. Tras la marcha definitiva de Pasi Koskinen en el puesto de vocalista,Tommi Joutsen entra en el grupo y eso cambió bastante el devenir del grupo, pues desde su entrada su popularidad y éxito fueron en aumento, fichaje por "Nuclear Blast" y sus últimas cinco obras, (con Tommi Joutsen), les han llevado a ser una de las bandas más reconocidas de Europa. Como decía hoy quiero referirme a su novena obra, "Skyforger" de 2009, que continúa la tradición de sus anteriores discos suponiendo un paso más en su incesante aumento de calidad disco tras disco. TREE OF AGES

Amorphis es otra de esas bandas que no necesitan de mucha presentación. Difícil encasillarlos en un solo estilo, así pues su nombre "Amorphis", procedente y adaptado de la palabra griega "amorphous" (Sin Forma), adaptándola a su difícil etiquetado en cuanto a estilo, resulta muy apropiado. De origen finlandés, este grupo se ha ido moviendo musicalmente hablando desde un Death metal, doom, con elementos progresivos de sus inicios, a un heavy metal, más melódico, menos death y más cercano en ocasiones a un folk heavy - rock progresivo, como digo dificil encasillarlos. Hoy quiero hablar de la última parte de su historia para referirme a su último disco hasta la fecha de esta reseña, el recién salido "under the red cloud", el sexto disco con Joutsen al frente, para hablar de una obra que promete (a pesar de decirlo aún con las precauciones de deberle aún varias escuchas atentas), pues promete dar que hablar, un giro quizá un poco más Folk, con incluso algunas reminiscencias a bandas como Amon Amarth, Eluveitie o Ensiferum como ocurre sobre todo en temas como este que hoy quiero dejar en el blog, "Tree of ages", una canción con un toque muy folk de la que dejo un enlace en esta ocasión a VBOX7, ya que de momento en youtube la maquinaria de una discografica +un superventas está impidiendo de momento que esté el video.
