Ty Morn - Die Where We Stand - Canciones Para Una Vida

DIE  WHERE  WE  STAND 

Hace un par de días dejaba en el blog otro de los temas de esta banda británica, de su LP más nuevo para hacerlo hoy de nuevo pero de su primer LP, "Istor" de 2019, y es que resulta desde luego muy interesante la propuesta compositiva de la banda, heavy metal con un cierto componente épico, sin alardes ni arreglos, eficaz y desde luego prometedor respecto a lo que puede estar por venir en futuras obras que como decía en la anterior entrada sobre la banda, a juzgar por sus tiempos compositivos debería dar noticias de novedades en ese sentido proximamente. dejo un enlace a youtube de este tema "Die where we stand".

Angel Sword - Night Rider - Canciones Para Una Vida

NIGHT  RIDER 

Los finlandeses Angel Sword se sumaron desde el inicio de su carrera a la fórmula clásica del heavy metal de la old school, ese nuevo viejo heavy metal que ha repuntado desde hace más de una década a nivel global. Formados en 2010 llevan,a fecha de esta reseña, tres LP's de estudio más dos EP's para abrir boca en su carrera. Canciones para una vida - Smoulder - The Sword Woman

THE  SWORD  WOMAN

Vamos de nuevo con un poco del llamado epic metal de la escuela americana, que no deja de ser una suerte de heavy metal de corte clásico, desde la perspectiva compositiva de la escuela estadounidense, flirteando con el doom, esos ritmos cadenciosos y espesos, con ese trasfondo oscuro, siempre con espada y brujería como hilo argumental, salsa toda esta en la que la banda esradounidense "Smoulder" se desempeña a la perfección. Formados en 2013, tras su periodo en las catacumbas de las escenas locales, graban su primer LP en 2019, este "Times of obscene evil and wild daring" del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog su tema "The sword woman" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Unleash The Archers - Northwest Passage

NORTHWEST  PASSAGE

Los canadienses Unleash The Archers necesitan a estas alturas de muy poca presentación, y a pesar de que llevan ya una carrera imparable tampoco es que lleven tantísimos años en activo, (desde 2007), pero su crecimiento constante y su evolución sonora les ha ido haciendo cada vez más queridos entre los metalheads de todo el planeta. La banda ha ido dejando poco a poco atrás el sonido death melódico en pos de una powerización que cada vez ha ido sumando más adeptos aejados de tesituras más extremas. A fecha de esta reseña seis son los LP's de estudio que conforman su discografía, el último de ellos de este 2024, a los que hay que añadir dos trabajos más en formato EP, (2012 y 2019), el segundo de ellos contiene dos versiones, una de las cuales "Northwest Passage" es el tema que dejo hoy en el blog, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Orion Child - Sons Of The Sea

 

SONS  OF  THE  SEA

Los españoles Orion Child con su power metal de corte europeo van dando pasos adelante en su carrera y llevan ya cuatro LP's de estudio desde que comenzasen su andadura musical, la verdad es que se antojan pocos teniendo en cuenta que llevan tocando desde 2003 si bien su primer material de estudio no vio la luz hasta 2010, sea como sea la banda ha demostrado con creces su calidad y en este 2024 hemos tenido muestra de su continuidad con su cuarto trabajo, sin embargo quiero hoy dejar en el blog uno de los temas que componen su tercera obra, "Continuum Fracture" de 2019, en concreto "Sons of the sea" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Earacle - Master And Servant

MASTER  AND  SERVANT

Vamos con otra banda más de las que apenas han dejado una leve muestra de su valía, son Earacle, desde Alemania, un grupo ya separado que ha permanecido en activo entre 2011 y 2022 dejando solo un LP de estudio como fruto de su carrera, "Rise of colossus" de 2019. Se trata de una banda que hace un sonido particular, a medio camino de varias cosas e incluso escuelas, así encontramos elementos entre el power, el heavy metal y el thrash en ocasiones o en rasgos. El grupo realmente termina por separarse tras la salida del grupo del guitarrista Patrick Sperling quien ficharía por Orden Ogan en 2020. Canciones para una vida - Starborn - Beneath The Iron Sky

BENEATH  THE  IRON  SKY

Starborn es una banda británica formada en 2012 y que permaneció en activo hasta el pasado 2023 editando un único LP de estudio en 2019 "Savage Peace" al que añadir un EP "The dreaming city" en 2015. Sonido a medio camino de varias cosas, de varias escuelas, así encontramos elementos heavy power de ambos lados del charco, algún ramalazo progresivo americano y algo de speed metal, toda una mezcla que hace de la escucha de su propuesta un ejercicio entretenido, nada monótono, y pone de relieve una vez más que la calidad no es siempre la respuesta para asegurarse el éxito, estos chicos con buen trabajo en casi todos los apartados, se separan como tantas otras bandas apenas antes de asomar la cabeza. THE  EMPEROR

Los griegos Rhodium son una banda de bastante reciente formación (2017), que centran su sonido en un power metal de orientación progresiva. A fecha de esta reseña tan solo han editado dos LP's de estudio (2018 y 2019) y a pesar de llevar ya un lustro de silencio compositivo se supone que siguen en activo, obviamente la maldita pandemia ha podido tener algo que ver en todo esto. Canciones para una vida - My Last Whisper - Hero's Return

HERO'S  RETURN

Vamos con otra banda más de la escena sueca, tan prolífica como llena de calidad en la mayoría de casos, hoy con otro grupo que aún está en los primeros momentos de su carrera, "My last Whisper", formados en 2015, y que solo ha editado en este tiempo dos LP's de estudio, "Embers of eden" de 2017 y "Ascended" de 2019. Estamos hablando de un sonido en clave de power metal pero con un aire progresivo, sin que marque este aspecto más su sonido que el del power de corte europeo. Canciones para una vida - Ravenous - Space And Time

SPACE  AND  TIME

Vamos con el primer trabajo de los canadienses "Ravenous" con el que dieron a conocer su energico power metal, sin tregua, que reparte melodía y energía a partes iguales, sin bajar el listón y parecen haber tomado esa actitud compositiva como parte de su identidad. Formados en 2016 empiezan editando un EP en 2017, después y hasta la fecha de esta reseña, son ya tres los LP's de estudio que conforman su discografía. Como digo su debut en este formato "Eat The fallen" data de 2019, y en el encontramos ya una auténtica declaración de intenciones como por ejemplo en el tema "Space and time" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Paladin - Fall From Grace

FALL  FROM  GRACE

Paladin es una banda estadounidense de esas que practican un sonido a medio camino de varias cosas, no solo están a medio camino del power, el heavy metal y el thrash sino que además estaan a medio camino de la escuela americana y la europea, es una mezcla de mezclas que les da un sello personal, y además creo que tienen un gran acierto compositivo. Formados en 2015 han editado tan solo un LP en 2019 junto con un EP en ese mismo año. Canciones para una vida - Ty Morn - Fall On Your Sword

 

FALL  ON  YOUR  SWORD

Nueva muestra de como ha ido evolucionando la escena musical en general, más allá de etiquetas, en lo que a buscarse la vida los propios músicos se refiere, al margen de discográficas, algo que antiguamente era practicamente imposible y que hoy en día da al menos a las bandas una ocasión económicamente factible de intentarlo. En este caso desde la escena británica llegan los ecos desde 2018 de "Ty Morn", que debuta en 2019 de forma independiente y diría que brillante con su heavy metal de corte épico, en uno de esos casos en los que el hombre es la banda, ya que Aron Biale se encarga de las guitarras y bajo y de la programación de la percusión en la obra debut, "Istor", de la que hoy quiero dejar en el blog uno de sus temas, "Fall on your sword" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Atorc - Shieldwall

 

SHIELDWALL 

Volvamos a la escena británica, a los terrenos folk metálicos, con ese componente épico para enmarcar el sonido de "Atorc", un grupo que por el momento no ha tenido mucha repercusión pero que lleva ya una década en activo y que ha editado, hasta la fecha de esta reseña, un total de dos LP's y un EP. En ocasiones introducen en sus canciones elementos tradicionales y por lo general se nota en la atmósfera de sus discos. En 2019 editaron su último trabajo de estudio, "Under the raven banner" de manera independiente, y del citado disco quiero dejar hoy en el blog su tema "Shieldwall" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Vision Divine - 3 Men Walk On The Moon

 

3 MEN  WALK  ON  THE  MOON 

De vuelta a la última obra publicada, (a fecha de esta reseña) de los italianos "Vision Divine" uno de esos grupos con fama de hacer bien las cosas, con Olaf Throsen tras sus composiciones, un grupo que surgiera como proyecto paralelo para Thorsen de Labyrinth, e igualmente para Lione que en su primer LP formaba parte de la banda. Desde su debut dejaron siempre bien claro el potencial, que era una mezcla prefecta para plantearse algo a largo plazo, y salvo por una cierta falta de continuidad, desde luego en lo comositivo el tiempo les ha dado la razón. Desde 2012 la banda no editaba nada nuevo, lo que hacía presagiar algo malo, sin embargo, 2019 fue la fecha escogida para mostrar lo contrario, sacandose la banda de la manga un auténtico discazo, que además de volver la mirada a sus inicios, muestra como la salida de Lione de la banda es absolutamente bien compensada con el nuevo vocalista, Ivan Giannini, conocido por su trabajo con Derdian, así como la incorporación de Mike Terrana. El caso es que la obra es espectacular y otro buen ejemplo que lo demuestra es su "3 men walk on the moon" del que hoy dejo en el blog un enlace a youtube de su lyric video oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Sellsword - Sagaborne

 

SAGABORNE

Ya he traido al blog a estos británicos, "Sellsword", una banda que no deja de sorprender por lo desconocido y al tiempo la calidad, el potencial, el buen hacer de sus, hasta la fecha de esta reseña, dos únicas obras de estudio, "...And now we ride" de 2016 y "...Unto the breach" de 2019. Hablamos de una heavy metal muy bien ejecutado, con influjo tanto power, como no carente de una estructura técnica usada para partes instrumentales del death melódico, a pesar de escucharlo no deja uno de descubrir el buen gusto compositivo y el monumental talento para poder llegar muy arriba si lo hacen bien en el futuro, aunque deberán para futuros albumes sustituir la figura del cantante que en 2020 dejó la formación. Veremos por donde salen en su tercer LP. El tema es que sus dos primeras obras son absolutamente recomendables, y hoy dejo en el blog otro de los temas que componen el segundo de ellos, concretamente la canción "Sagaborne" de la que hoy dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Diviner - The Earth, The Moon, The Sun

 

THE  EARTH,  THE  MOON,  THE  SUN

Una confirmación más del extraoridnario estado de forma de la cantera griega encarnada hoy en la banda "Diviner", que sirve además para notar que esto no es cuestión de hace un par de años ya que ha habido mucho trabajo detrás, mucha pasión y bandas que han ido abriendo camino, sentando las bases y posteriormente explotando la escena y diversificandose alcanzando como digo en la actualidad un peso específico grande en su conjunto y que parece ir a más, como suele ocurrir en estos casos, parece que en esto como en otras cosas lo más complicado es empezar,, después las cosas parecen coger una cierta inercia positiva, y en esas parece estar la escena griega en la actualidad. "Diviner" se forma en 2011, por el empuje e ilusión de deo músicos procedentes de "Inner Wish". Su sonido puede enmarcarse entre el heavy metal melódico y el power metal también melódico y de momento, a fecha de esta reseña han editado tan solo dos LP's de estudio, "Fallen Empires" de 2015 y "Realms of time" de 2019. De este último trabajo, completo, que muestra un crecimiento compositivo con respecto a su debut, quiero hoy dejar en el blog uno de los temas que lo componen, concretamente "The earth, the moon, the sun" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Ivory Tower - The Wolves You've Let In

 

THE  WOLVES  YOU'VE  LET  IN

Los alemanes "Ivory Tower" son un buen ejemplo de esas bandas que llevan una vida entera en esto de la música y, a pesar de que su calidad debería haberles dado una mayor consistencia en lo que a su carrera en conjunto se refiere, no lo han logrado, careciendo de la suficiente continuidad para haber optado a algo más de repercusión. "Ivory Tower" se mueve compositivamente dentro del campo del power metal progresivo, y comenzó su carrera en 1996, habiendo editado en todos estos años desde entonces tan solo cinco LP's de estudio a pesar de supuestamente haber estado continuamente en activo desde sus inicios. Siempre he tenido esa sensación a pesar de todo de calidad y cuidado en lo que se refiere al sonido de la banda apuntando un poco hacia lo que hace, y salvando las diferencias por supuesto, "Dream Theater", aunque sus incursiones progresivas son digamos menos extremas, se advierte más una vertiente power que la mostrada por los americanos. En 2019, Ivory Tower edita su quinta, y hasta la fecha de esta reseña, última obra de estudio, "Stronger", y de ella hoy quiero dejar en el blog su tema "The wolves you've let in", con una vocación de medio tiempo, que en general me parece un tempo compositivo muy apropiado para el sonido progresivo, donde los cambios y los matices se aprecian a la perfección, es un tema en el que se nota mucho la citada calidad de la banda y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Megaton Sword - Realms To Conquer

 

REALMS  TO  CONQUER

De entre las muchas maneras que las bandas tienen de mirar a un concepto heavy clásico, la del llamado "epic heavy metal" es una opción más, haciendolo como digo a la manera clásica, evitando sobre todo el apartado electrónico de los teclados y efectos. Uno de los grandes grupos clásicos que abrieron esta vía fueron "Manilla Road"  por ejemplo, y claramente los suizos "Megaton Sword" han mirado en esa dirección para desarrollar su aún incipiente carrera que comenzó en 2018 y que por el momento consta tan solo de un EP y un LP, (2019 y 2020 respectivamente). Como digo esa capacidad para crear una atmosfera épica a base de guitarras principalmente y el bajo, igualmente con algo de los primeros Manowar, y la tesitura vocal tan personal encontramos rápida la conexión con los pioneros en dicho concepto heavy épico. Su primer materialcomo digo es un EP, "Niralet" de 2019 y compuesto por cinco canciones de las que hoy quiero dejar en el blog la última de ellas, "Realms to conquer", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Beast In Black - True Believer

 

TRUE  BELIEVER

Ya todo esta más que dicho, en general y en este blog en particular, en lo referente a la historia de Beast In Black, a su género predilecto compositivo, a la facilidad de componer melodías enganchonas de Kabanen, y a ese progresivo giro hacia lo electrónico, co la base de los teclados tan presente y cada vez más predominante. Realmente todo está dicho y se ve venir de manera muy evidente por la aún corta trayectoria de la banda, por donde seguirán sus pasos, e igualmente como las críticas de los sectores más puristas metálicos solo irán en aumento, pero de la misma manera hay que reconocer la potente capacidad para engancharte con sus temas de este músico y la propuesta de esta magnífica banda finlandesa, (aunque internacional). Sea como fuere es muy sencillo recurrir a canciones de sus discos pues muchas reunen las características de ser consideradas singles, otro buen ejemplo de su segundo LP "From hell with love" de 2019 es "True Believer" con ese baño tan ochentero y de la que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Northtale - The Rhythm Of Life

 

THE  RHYTHM  OF  LIFE

Otro proyecto en clave de power que comenzó en 2017 su andadura para de momento haber dado solo fruto en clave de LP en 2019 con su debut "Welcome to paradise" de la que ya hablé en su momento en el blog. Hoy repito para dejar otra de sus canciones además de comentar el cambio de cantante en la formación tras la salida de la banda de Christian Eriksson, (ex de "Twilight Force" y la incorporación de Gilherme Hirose conocido por su trabajo vocal en "Traumer" por ejemplo. Este proyecto internacional incorpora músicos de ambos lados del Atlántico, sin embargo el sonido escogido es muy de corte europeo y se les puede enseguida identificar con bandas nórdicas del estilo. Hoy dejo la canción, "The Rhythm of life", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube, mientras esperamos la salida de material nuevo, algo que parece que vaya a suceder muy probalemente por la calidad del debut y por la nueva incorporación mencionada.
