THUNDER  IN  THE  NIGHT

Los suecos Dream Evil parecen haber regresado con muchas ganas a su periodo de actividad actual ya que en este 2025 han sacado un EP "Thunder in the night" tras su LP del pasado 2024 "Metal Gods" que rompía siete años de silencio desde su anterior larga duración "Six" de 2017. El caso es que a juzgar por el resultado del último LP, algo refrendado en este EP de este año, la banda se encuentra en perfecto estado de forma y esperemos que sea solo el comienzo de esta nueva etapa y que sea larga, se trata de una de esas bandas que aportan mucho y son necesarias en plena forma. Canciones para una vida - Dream Evil - The Tyrant Dies At Dawn

THE  TYRANT  DIES  AT  DAWN

Tras siete años de silencio compositivo, en este 2024 han regresado a los estudios los suecos Drean Evil para dejarnos el disco "Metal Gods" así como la esperanza de la continuidad del grupo que a juzgar por la nueva obra está en plena forma, siempre es una buena noticia ver como las buenas bandas regresan de una muerte anunciada en plena forma, cerrando bocas e iluminando su futuro y el de sus fans, que en este caso en concreto legaron a ser muchos por razones evidentes. De la nueva obra quiero dejar en el blog hoy otro de sus temas, "The tyrant dies at dawn" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

METAL  GODS

Siete años de silencio desde que los suecos Dream Evil editasen su anterior trabajo se antoja demasiado tiempo sin material nuevo que llevarse a los oidos, La verdad es que ya daba por terminada a esta banda pero me alegra ver que en este 2024 editarán su séptimo LP de estudio, concretamente el 26 de julio, "Metal Gods" será su título y su primer adelanto también, a través del que se puede constatar que la banda continua con su sonido intacto, haciendo un homenaje a las bandas míticas del heavy metal a través de la estética y las letras. Canciones para una vida - Dream Evil - Antidote

ANTIDOTE

Finalmente, tras siete años de silencio regresan a la escena internacional los suecos "Dream Evil" para presentar su trabajo "Six", como facilmente puede deducirse por el título, la sexta obra de estudio de la banda que como digo viene precedida por un largo silencio que a mí, personalmente, no me hacía presagiar nada bueno en lo referente a la continuidad del grupo. Esta es una de esas ocasiones en las que me alegra equivocarme porque es evidente que su carrera tendrá continuidad más allá de su quinta obra "In the night", de 2010. Ya he hablado en el blog en alguna ocasión sobre la historia de la banda, y todo el que haya seguido la trayectoria de la misma sabe de sobra la calidad musical en su conjunto como grupo así como los destacables nombres que han pasado por ella, destacando por encima, principalmente por la carrera que ha ido desarrollando, el nombre de Gus G que formó parte de este grupo hasta 2006. En la presente obra se echará de menos sin duda la presencia de ese nombre al igual que el de Snowy Shaw a la batería, aunque ambos puestos han sido bien cubiertos desde la salida de los mismos. Además otra de las señas de identidad de la banda, la portentosa voz power de Nick Night sigue presente lo que da ese toque tan familiar a los que seguimos la carrera de la banda desde el principio. Así pues, escuchando el primer adelanto,"Antidote" que es el que hoy quiero dejar en el blog, ya que el disco como tal no saldrá a la venta de forma oficial hasta el día 26 de Mayo, como digo, escuchando este adelanto se puede apreciar que la banda continua con su propuesta de siempre, lo que hará las delicias de sus seguidores, aunque como siempre ocurre con los adelantos habrá que escuchar toda la obra para poder hacerse una idea más real de o que es su sonido, hasta entonces dejo un enlace a youtube del clip oficial de este "Antidote".

THE BOOK OF HEAVY METAL (March of the Metallians)

Dream Evil son una banda sueca formada en 1999. Todo surgió cuando el productor sueco Fredrik Nordstrom quería formar un grupo, un proyecto que sacase adelante sus ideas musicales enfocado al power metal, comenzando a tomar cuerpo en el citado 1999 cuando Fredrik encontró en Grecia al joven y por entonces desconocido guitarrista Gus G., y decidió crear a la banda para la que unió a Gus G a la guitarra, Niklas Isfeldt a la voz, quien había hecho los coros en más de un disco de Hammerfall con la producción de Nordstrom, y Ritchie Rainbow en la guitarra rítmica y a los teclados. Inmediatamente comenzaron a plasmar sus ideas musicales y surgió la banda. Se unen al grupo Snowy Shaw al bajo y el batería Peter Stalfors. Firman con la discográfica "Century Media", y tratan de hacerse llamar "Dragonslayer", basándose en la temática fantástica y medieval de algunos de los temas escritos por Gus G y Nordstrom, pero el sello les hizo ver que el nombre no era suficientemente original haciéndoles tomar el nombre de "Dream Evil" sacado de uno de los discos de DIO. En 2002 ve la luz su primer larga duración, de titulo "Dragonslayer". Desde entonces un total de 5 larga duración más un EP son su legado musical hasta la fecha de esta reseña, aunque llevan desde 2010 sin editar material nuevo. Hoy voy a dejar una canción en el blog de su tercer disco de estudio, "The Book of Heavy Metal", de 2004, en el que la banda se había ya transformado en una realidad a todos los niveles, ya nadie la veía como un proyecto incipiente y quizá por esa necesidad de dedicación exclusiva fue por lo que el guitarrista Gus G decide dejar el grupo tras la realización de esta tercera obra, para no quitarle tiempo a su banda madre Firewind. Será sustituido por el guitarrista Mark Black quien ya había sustituido a Gus G en Dream Evil en alguna ocasión en el pasado cuando le hubo resultado imposible girar con la banda por sus compromisos con Firewind. Además también el batería Snowy Show abandonaría el grupo tras la grabación de este álbum. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog el tema "The Book of Heavy Metal", homónimo al título del disco, cañonazo power metalero del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su videoclip oficial.
