TALE  OF  PAIN

Para mi gusto, sin duda podemos ver en este álbum de los suecos "Cromonic" un disco de reivindicación, de como unos músicos con una larga trayectoria, enrolados en una banda que nunca termino de gozar del favor del gran público, como fue "Freternia" y a pesar de tener merecidas buenas críticas como banda con potencial, jamás llegó, como digo, a despuntar siendo una absoluta desconocida para la gran mayoría. Reconvertidos en "Cromonic", con una nueva imagen, una dosis más moderna pero un buen hacer mirando sus propias raíces, y tirando de orgullo, de tesón auto produciéndose de nuevo su música, dan el do de pecho en este "Time" de 2017, que por otra parte, sin el apoyo adecuado mucho me temo que pasará desapercibido de nuevo para muchos. Una vez más la calidad y las ventas no van de la manos, pero una vez más igualmente merece la pena sumergirse en una obra de esta categoría para respirar un soplo de aire fresco en la escena power europea. Buen ejemplo es este "Tale of pain" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Cromonic - Dragonsong

DRAGONSONG

El equilibrio entre muchos elementos diferentes es una de las mejores definiciones de esta banda sueca. Así pues, las pinceladas de power metal clásico, melódico, la energía y su adaptación a un sonido más moderno y electrónico en ocasiones mezclado con las cenizas de una banda clásica, no demasiado conocida pero sin embargo bastante "reconocida" en los círculos del power, como fue "Freternia" dan como resultado un disco que, sin inventar nada nuevo si que parece rememorar los mejores momentos de un subgénero como el power metal, que parece poco a poco estar cada vez más de capa caída. Siempre a sucedido que los estilos vayan y vengan, se fusionen creando nuevas tendencias etc. Por ejemplo en estos momentos parece estar habiendo un repunte del heavy metal clásico, tradicional, el que lo empezó todo, crudo, sin adornos, y como digo, el power clásico noventero no parece estar en su momento más alto, a pesar de ciertas excepciones. Pero siempre podemos encontrar grupos nuevos que sigan ofreciendo esa esencia, como en este caso Cromonic, del que ya dejé hace tiempo una entrada en el blog. Hoy quiero dejar otro de los temas de esta, a fecha de esta reseña, única obra de estudio del grupo, "Time" de 2017, la canción "Dragonsong", una versión de una canción compuesta para el primer LP de Freternia, ""Warchants & Fairytales" de 2000, una canción tranquila que sin embargo guarda todas las premisas esperables en el estilo Power y que Cromonic ha querido recuperar para la ocasión, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Cromonic - Paradise

PARADISE

Cromonic son una nueva banda de la factoría sueca, una escena que por lo general suele llevar asociada la garantía de calidad en un porcentaje alto de bandas con esa procedencia, más si tenemos en cuenta el currículum anterior de los músicos que crean un grupo nuevo, como en este caso ocurre, ya que nos encontramos ante dos músicos, en la parte vocal y de las seis cuerdas, a los que asociar por ejemplo con una banda que llevo queriendo mucho tiempo traer por el blog y que aún no he hecho, (pero que haré), como son "Freternia". Volviendo a Cromonic, como digo Patrik Von Porat a la guitarra y Pasi Humppi a la voz que pertenecían juntos a Freternia crean este proyecto allá por 2005, aunque dejan en "Standby" la idea hasta 2013 en que la reactivan con intención de hacer que funcione. Con un sonido un tanto separado del de Freternia, un grupo de power metal europeo 100%, el de Cromonic va un poco más en una linea power heavy, con algunos toque más electrónicos si se quiere y una pincelada moderna pero para nada sin exagerar, dejando clara su procedencia sueca en casi cada acorde. Hasta la fecha de esta reseña tan solo una obra adorna su discografía y esperemos que no sea la última a juzgar por el resultado. De título "Time" salió a la venta de forma oficial a finales de 2017 y hoy quiero dejar en el blog un enlace a una de sus canciones, en concreto a su primer single "Paradise" que nos enseña por donde van sus tiros musicales, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
