 THE  NORTHERN  STAR

Los finlandeses Frozen Land han escogido este 2023 como año de asentamiento de su propuesta compositiva a través de su segundo LP de estudio "Out of the dark", propietarios de un sonido muy hijo de su cantera en el apartado power, es evidente que han "mamado" de los Stratovarius Sonata Arctica y otras bandas afines. Se nota además un "afilamiento" progresivo de sus canciones, es indudable que la banda sigue un sendero ascendente con el qe veremos hasta donde llegan. DYING  OF  THE  LIGHT

Volvamos al segundo LP de los finlandeses "Frozen Land" para destacar otro de sus temas incluidos en este "Out of the dark" del presente 2023. Desde luego que esta banda desde su debut demostró el enorme potencial que atesoran, mostró por donde podían ir los tiros compositivos para su carrera futura e ilusionó a mucha gente con el posible futuro que prometen. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otra de esas promesas posibles, en este caso en la vertiente más europower desde un punto de vista del europower clasico de los 90 y 2000, con el tema "Dying of the light" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Cinco años han pasado desde el interesante debut de esta banda power finlandesa y su continuación que en estos días comienza a mostrar sus primeras pinceladas. Entre ambos toda una pandemia global que ha cortado su nacimiento y seguramente condicionado su crecimiento, como en tantas otras bandas habrá ocurrido. Este segundo album de estudio verá la luz de manera oficial este próximo mes de junio, y hasta ese momento nos dejan su primer adelanto, "King's a bitch", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Frozen Land - Underworld (Manala)

UNDERWORLD  (MANALA)

Otra de las nuevas bandas de reciente creación que más me han gustado dentro de su estilo Power fue "Frozen Land", de Finlandia, una banda que en muchos aspectos está rememorando los mejores momentos de bandas como Stratovarius, con ese concepto clásico dentro del power. Ya he dejado en el blog otra canción de esta obra, "Frozen Land", homónima al nombre de la banda, un disco de 2018 que ha resultado ser una de las sorpresas positivas para mí del citado año. Sin inventar nada nuevo si que han cogido el testigo de ese sonido que reino a finales de los 90 haciendolo un poco más propio y despertando buenas expectativas para lo que pueda venir más adelante. Hoy dejo otro buen ejemplo para ilustrar lo que digo, la canción "Underworld (Manala)", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Frozen Land - Unsung Heroes

UNSUNG  HEROES


Frozen Land es una banda nueva, procedente de la inagotable cantera finlandesa, un nuevo grupo que, a pocos segundos de escuchar su material, no deberían poder ocultar su origen a cualquier metalhead acostumbrado al power metal. Ese ambiente sonoro tan "Stratovarico" no deja lugar a dudas de lo que han "mamado" musicalmente estos chicos. El grupo se forma en 2017 y enseguida fichan por "Massacre". En 2018, el recientemente pasado diciembre, editan su primer LP, de título homónimo al nombre de la banda, "Frozen land", y del que hoy quiero dejar uno de sus temas en el blog. La formación resulta ser bastante desconocida, procediendo de bandas de las que hay pocas referencias, y el estilo es una especie de Power de manual, super europeo, super finlandés, como no puede ser de otra manera, haciéndoseles comparado, como decía más arriba, con Stratovarius y Sonata Arctica, ahí es nada. Hoy dejo en el blog la canción "Unsung Heroes", una de las que más me han gustado del disco y que creo que habla por si misma del enorme potencial de esta banda que tiene muchas papeletas para dar que hablar en el futuro, veremos.
