Master Spy - Maze Runner

MAZE  RUNNER 

Ya en su debut de 2021, los canadienses Master Spy nos dejaron una grandísima impresión, dejaron claro su potencial, y claro, fue inevitable su parecido en ciertos aspectos con los británicos Iron Maiden, lo que les hizo que muchas miradas curiosas pusieran sus ojos en ellos. En 2025 editaba la banda su segundo LP, "Maze Runner", que debería ser la confirmación del grupo, no es fácil muchas veces ese segundo paso cuando se destaca en el primero, pero sin duda la banda sigue la línea de su debut en este "Maze Runner" del que hoy dejo en el blog el tema que le da nombre, y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Master Spy - The Train

 

THE  TRAIN

Volviendo al repaso de lo mucho que ha dado de si este 2021 en lo que a discos de bandas nuevas, no tanto y veteranas, quiero hoy volver a echar un vistazo al proyecto canadiense "Master Spy", un grupo que aparentemente salido de la nada y del que poco ha transcendido, nos ha dejado un EP con una muestra de potencial increible en clave de heavy metal clásicote, muy a lo Iron Maiden pero con un aire al mismo tiempo más nuevo, un pelín "masterplanizado". El resultado es un deslumbrante conjunto de canciones que tras su escucha dan lugar al deseo de más, como si se hubiese abonado perfectamente el terreno para lo que puede estar por venir más adelante, (ojala), quizá en ese momento sepamos quienes están tras ese proyecto y entendamos mejor de donde han salido con ese aire tan clásico. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otro de esos cinco temas que han formado parte de ese EP, ese magnífico debut, en concreto el que le da nombre, "The Train", el más largo de los ya de por sí largos cinco temas, este con poco más de 10 minutos que en ningún momento se hace largo, antes al contrario, como decía más arriba la obra te deja con ganas de más. Canciones para una vida - Master Spy - The Policeman

 

THE  POLICEMAN

Nuevo proyecto en esta ocasión rodeado completamente por el misterio ya que poco a trascendido de quien está detrás del mismo, tan solo he encontrado como información que posiblemente Roland Grapow esté tras la producción y que el origen de la banda es canadiense. Los componentes se hacen llamar, Lino: Vocals, Merk: Songwriting, guitars ,Roman: Guitars , Martin B : Bass ,Kostas: Drums, keys ,Alex VanTrue: Backing vocals ,Officer X: Solos and guitars. De momento solo un EP ha salido a la luz, este "The Train" del presente 2021, (13 de septiembre), y estamos ante un sonido absolutamente clásico, con guiños compositivos por ellos mismos reconocidos a Iron Maiden en la década de los ochenta, (más bien tardía). Los temas son más bien de larga duración (entre 7 y 10 minutos), lo que hace que los cinco temas que componen el album den una duración conjunta casi de un LP. La estética de la portada no puede ser más ochentera lo que muestra también sus intenciones. Han editado este material de forma independiente y con un sonido completamente profesional. Una buena sorpresa para este ya final de 2021, disco del que dejo hoy en el blog la canción que abre el mismo, "The Policeman", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
