SEVEN  SEAS

Vamos hoy con un poco de power clásico, este facturado con la innegable influencia del sonido que se denominó neo clasico, con un regusto por lo tanto barroco, elaborado, un sonido cuidado, de la factoría sueca, en estaba resurgiendo con fuerza a través de muchas bandas en ese momento. Hablamos de At Vance, y de su debut, "No escape" de 1999, un disco que ponía bajo los focos sobre todo a su vocalista Oliver Hartmann, que durante el lustro siguiente sería una pieza recurrente en colaboraciones diversas y sonadas, (algunas del calibre de Avantasia). Por encima de todo la obra destila calidad, y en lo sonoro, por ejemplo en el tema que hoy dejo en el blog, "Seven Seas", vemos reminiscencias de Axel Rudi Pell por ejemplo, un aire a ciertos momentos de Yngwie en sus temas más veloces pero con mayor sentido melódico, suenan a At Vance en definitiva, y sus cuatro primeras obras para mi gusto son las mejores. POWER  &  GLORY

At Vance es una banda alemana que a estas alturas poca presentación necesita, y la prueba es que su carrera sigue en marcha tras más de 20 años en activo ya, (desde 1998). Hoy en día tan solo Olaf Lenk (guitarra y teclados) permanece en el grupo de los que lo formaron. Llegaron a gozar de buena fama y buena prensa, sobre todo en la primera parte de su carrera, de donde destaca este debut "No escape" del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog una de sus canciones. La irrupción en la escena iternacional abriría ese concepto "neoclásico" a otras bandas, aunque era un concepto que ya existia, pero esta obra fresca para la época dio que hablar. La inclusión de versiones de temas de música clásica les hizo también tener ese aire técnico que llamó la atención. Hoy dejo en el blog la canción "Power & Glory", como digo de su debut "No escape" de 1999, una obra que descubrió a Oliver Hartmann a la voz, y que estaría con "At Vance" durante los cuatro primeros discos del grupo, (hasta 2002), un inicio meteórico por cierto, a disco por año. Canciones para una vida - At Vance - Soldier Of Time

SOLDIER OF TIME

Como ya hemos dicho en este blog, esta banda alemana nace  bajo el nombre de Centers y comienzan a utilizar el nombre de At Vance a partir de 1998, sacando su primera obra de estudio es 1999, desde ese momento 9 LP's han visto la luz y el grupo ha sufrido varios cambios en la formación original, así, de los dos integrantes originales, Olaf Lenk en las guitarras y teclados y Oliver Hartmann a la voz, tan solo Olaf continua, abandonando Oliver la formación en 2003. En cierto modo, la característica y portentosa voz de Oliver Hartmann fue marca del grupo, aunque a nivel compositivo si que se ha mantenido el grupo al mismo nivel a pesar de los cambios en el puesto de cantante. Hoy quiero dejar una canción del grupo, de su primera época con Oliver a la voz, concretamente de su segunda obra de estudio, del año 2000. La canción es "Soldier of Time", un tema que representa perfectamente el espiritu neoclásico de At vance en sus primeros tiempos. Dejo un enlace a Youtube.

SING THIS SONG

Una banda alemana de power - neoclassical para hoy. Se trata de At Vance, nacidos bajo el nombre de Centers,comienzan a utilizar el nombre de At Vance a partir de 1998, sacando su primera obra de estudio es 1999, desde ese momento 9 LP's han visto la luz y el grupo ha sufrido varios cambios en la formación original, así, de los dos integrantes originales, Olaf Lenk en las guitarras y teclados y Oliver Hartmann a la voz, tan solo Olaf continua, abandonando Oliver la formación en 2003, siendo este Only Human al que quiero referirme, de 2002 el último disco con Oliver en funciones vocales. El alma compositiva de la banda sin embargo era más bien Olaf Lenk así que, a pesar de la perdida de una de las señas de identidad del grupo que era la voz de Oliver Hartmann, el sonido en general no se vió demasiado alterado en obras posteriores, siendo además sustituido el vocalista por otros de fama internacional como Mats Leven entre 2003 y 2007 y Rick Altzy desde 2007 en adelante. Además, otra de las señas de identidad de la banda son las versiones de otras bandas como Rainbow o Abba, o de música clásica con Vivaldi, etc. Quiero dejar en el blog la canción Sing This Song, ya que es un tema de los que más me gustan del grupo y además de uno de los discos mejores a mi entender, el Only human de 2002, su cuarta obra de estudio y última como digo con Oliver Hartmann a la voz, un disco que es bueno entero y que recomiendo escuchar.
