PALACE  OF  THE  MARTYRS

Siempre al hablar de esta banda griega, "Battleroar" debemos tener en cuenta ese componente épico, automáticamente nos llega ese concepto "True" pero fuera del "macarrismo estético" de Manowar, es mucho más "True" que todo eso, menos artificial, más de la escuela de "Manilla Road" por ejemplo, más de cara a si mismos que a la marca autogenerada de los citados Manowar, aunque, en lo sonoro, por ejemplo en el tema que hoy dejo, puede uno irse al material inicial de los americanos. Hablamos hoy del último LP editado de la banda, (a fecha de esta reseña), "Codex Epicus" de 2018, una obra que ya he traido al blog anteriormente y de la que hoy quiero dejar otro buen ejemplo del sonido que se gasta este buen grupo perteneciente a esa escena tan fiel a su sonido como es la griega, hoy en día en buen momento con buenos proyectos nuevos o casi despuntando. SWORD  OF  THE  FLAME


El 15 de junio de este 2018 ha editado la banda griega Battleroar su quinto álbum de estudio, "Codex Epicus". Con la escena griega del heavy metal me pasa un poco como con la italiana, hay un gran número de bandas que gustan de ese heavy metal de corte épico, un tanto subterráneo pero que les da esa autenticidad tan de agradecer muchas veces. Otro ejemplo es Battleroar, un grupo del que ya he dejado en el blog algún tema . Se forman en 2000 y desde entonces como digo 5 LP's adornan su discografía, a fecha de esta reseña. El concepto es un tanto "True", pero no en la vía tanto de Manowar, como de bandas que trataban de empezar esta vía musical tales como Manilla Road u Omen, o un poco el concepto Bathory quitando el lado oscuro proto black que este hacía. Se trata pues de un concepto musical que rebusca entre un estilo y otro pero siempre poniendo en un lugar preponderante el concepto épico, así la temática histórico fantástica de batallas mezclado con fantasía ofrece un híbrido interesante al que avala ya su carrera de más de 15 años editando música.Esta última obra va en la línea de lo anteriormente publicado, y de ella hoy quiero dejar en el blog uno de sus temas, "Sword of flame" en la que cuentan con la colaboración a la voz de Mark Shelton de Manilla Road, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Battleroar - Valkyries Above

VALKYRIES ABOVE

Battleroar es una banda procedente de Grecia que hacen un epic power heavy metal cuya temática es en plan true metal con batallas, temas épicos, etc, un poco en plan Manowar. Llevan sacando discos desde 2003 y tienen 4 obras de estudio desde entonces siendo este blood of legends el último salido hasta la fecha de esta reseña, de este mismo año, apenas hace tres meses. Es un interesante grupo que sin ser nada extraordinario ni super original si que hacen bien aquello que pretenden y entre su discografía encontramos buenos temas siendo de momento quizás más una banda de algunas canciones sueltas que de un disco completo que puede resultar pesado, pero en fín en este blog nos dedicamos a opinar sobre canciones y no solo sobre discos y sin duda este Valkyries above de 2014 de su último disco blood of legends es magnifica. Se trata de una canción que dura casi 9 minutos pero que en ningun momento se hace pesada.Tiene bastante buena pinta esta última obra de Battleroar, que debo escuchar aún con más detenimiento antes de forjarme una idea final de ella.
