SONG  OF  THE  DUSK

Los finlandeses Insomnium, dueños de un reconocido, reconocible y fino death melódico, han editado este 2023 su noveno album de estudio, y han decidido la formula de tratar de vender los temas escogidos para formar parte de los bonus track de las ediciones especiales del citado noveno album, en formato EP reuniendo los tres temas. Más allá de la intención recaudatoria o no de la banda, es además una ocasión de hacerse con los tres bonus si te habías hecho con la edición inicial, y además, supuestamente este triplete de temas ofrecen un final alternativo al hilo conductor de la historia del disco. LILIAN

Nuevo trabajo a la vista para una de esas bandas finlandesas de calidad, de las que tienen esa aparente facilidad para crear melodías que permanecen en tu cabeza, complementadas por la fuerza del death melódico que las enmarca. Se trata de Insomnium y su ya noveno LP de estudio. Un poco con la onda compositiva de los mismos Amorphis o los más nuevos e igualmente buenos Brymir, por mencionar solo un par de ejemplos también finlandeses. El nuevo trabajo se titulará "Anno 1696" y verá la luz el próximo 2023, para finales de febrero, y de ella nos dejan en estos días su primer sencillo, "Lilian", canción de la que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

THE  CONJURER

Los finlandeses Insomnium son otra de esas bandas que actualmente llaman mi atención con cada una de las cosas que publican, es uno de esos grupos que en lo suyo, (death melódico) han llegado a alcanzar ese nivel y finura que personalmente resultan una garantía de calidad, y, en estos días están presentando su single "The Conjurer", una canción que se supone que pretenecerá a su noveno LP de estudio, un disco para el que aún no hay una fecha específica más allá de la intencion de la banda de editarlo a lo largo de este 2021. Como digo todo material editado por la banda merece al menos mención y el tema deja esos destellos que tanto deslumbraron particularmente con su último LP titulado "Heart like a grave" del pasado 2019. Esperemos que siga la racha y el disco cumpla las grandes expectativas, hasta ese momento dejo en el blog este "The Conjurer" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

SHADOWS  OF  THE  DYING  SUN

Hablamos, al referirnos a este grupo, "Insomnium" de la esencia misma del death melódico de la escuela finlandesa, puesto que es una de esas bandas que encarnan las virtudes del subgénero en su totalidad. Hablamos pues de calidad, de acierto compositivo desde el comienzo de la andadura del grupo, allá por 1997, y, a medida que pasa el tiempo y se suceden las obras, hablamos ya de una importante producción musical con 8 LP's de estudio. Hoy quiero recuperar el sexto disco de la banda, "Shadows of the dying sun", de 2014, para el que resulta absolutamente válido lo anteriormente expuesto, grandes melodías, en una obra completa y de alto nivel de la que se pueden destacar muchos temas como por ejemplo el que da nombre a la obra, "Shadows of the dying sun", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

TWILIGHT  TRAILS

 Una vez más los finlandeses "Insomnium", en un ejercicio de pulcro esfuerzo compositivo, nos dejan un ejemplo casi perfecto de lo que debe ser el death melódico, subrayando lo de melódico, algo ya demostrado a lo largo de su discografía pasada y que ahora confirman en este "Heart like a grave" del pasado 2019. Son pues un buen ejemplo de lo que se suele hacer por muchas bandas en su cantera natural finlandesa en lo que al death melódico se refiere. Disco del que ya he dejado en el blog otra de sus canciones, siendo la obra ya la octava de la banda que se encuentra en un momento dulce de su carrera, con todas las garantías de un grupo que lleva desde 1997 desarrollando su concepto musical personal, y por lo tanto, una obra recomendable en su conjunto de la que hoy dejo en el blog el tema "Twilight Trails", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

HEART  LIKE  A  GRAVE

 Hacía mucho tiempo que ya quería traer al blog a esta banda finlandesa, "Insomnium" y al final por un motivo o por otro nunca terminaba por traer su sonido, y hoy, con motivo de su aún reciente salida al mercado del octavo disco de la banda, este mismo mes de octubre he encontrado al fin la ocasión para hacerlo. Estamos ante un grupo con un larga trayectoria ya dentro del death metal, en su vertiente melódica, siendo igualmente un grupo de los que no han dejado de evolucionar en sus obras, viéndose lejos aún donde pueden tener techo. Una de sus señas de identidad es la exquisita producción de su sonido, y también la atmósfera con la que suelen rodear sus obras, teniendo la sensación de formar parte en su escucha de algo muy nórdico, se siente el frío y la melancolía, oscuridad, cierta contundencia en momentos y delicados cambios en otros. "Insomnium" destaca pues por una calidad cada vez más reconocida. Formados en 1997, han editado, como decía más arriba, y hasta la fecha de esta, un total de ocho LP's y dos EP's, y de esta octava obra de estudio "Heart like a grave" quiero dejar la canción que da nombre a la obra, y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.
