Insomnium - The Hour Grows Late

THE  HOUR  GROWS  LATE

I'm treading into the winter's dreary eve
While the snow keeps falling on me
Colder and colder still
Shattering soul yet cleaving to the last ember
Weakening flame I shelter and guard
Hold with shivering hands

Can you still remember?
The time when nights were soothing

I'm waning into the land of silence
While the snow keeps falling on me
Colder and colder still
Searching for you amidst the flickering shadows
Yet nothing but vapor and dusk I find
Mere phantoms of the past

Can you still remember?
The time when nights were soothing
Can you still remember?
The time the winds were gentle

I thought we had all the time in this world
Undying summer nights stretching on
Now the winds are cold, not as they were
And you are here no more
You fade away, beyond the dawn

Those were the days now gone for good
Those were the days of our lives
Straying towards the end now
Roaming beyond the nightfall
Light is fading away
As the hour grows late
The hour grows late...

When I fell asleep it was summer
But when I awoke it was winter
The house was empty and cold
You were there no more

I thought we had more time
I thought we had all the time in the world
And there would always be a new spring
And we would stay young forever

And now my eyes are failing me
It is getting too dark to see
