Cutty Sark - Hardrock Power - Canciones Para Una Vida

HARDROCK POWER 

Esta es una de esas típicas bandas que mirando solo el aspecto de sus portadas ochenteras te imaginas algo demasiado cutrillo para prestarle atención, sin embargo, en este tipo de ocasiones, muchas veces la cutrez de las portadas en inversamente proporcional a lo interesante de la propuesta compositiva, este era el caso de los germanos Cutty Sark, grupo que mostró su potencial a comienzos de los ochenta en un par de LP's antes de diluirse hasta finales de los 90 en que editan su tercera y última obra de estudio. La propuesta es un heavy metal de la vieja escuela. Formados en 1979 su actividad más reseñable dura hasta 1987 en que editan los citados dos primeros LP's, (84 y 85) a los que precedieron su EP de presentación "Hardrock Power", de 1983, y del que quiero dejar hoy en el blog el tema que le daba nombre y del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Cutty Sark - Heroes

  

HEROES

Segundo LP de los alemanes "Cutty Sark", otra de esas bandas que desarrollaron una corta y quizás demasiado inadvertida carrera musical, como tantas otras bandas de la década de los ochenta. Procedentes de Alemania, Cutty Sark editaron 3 LP's de estudio en clave de heavy metal de la época, de la old school. con todo el encanto y fuerza que eso supone. El concepto ya ha sido largamente expuesto en este blog, y la lista de bandas que salieron en la época, para solo un puñado de ellas llegar a destacar a nivel internacional parece casi inagotable. Hoy quiero volver de nuevo la mirada a esa época, hacia el segundo de los albumes de Cutty Sark, de título "Heroes", de 1985, gran año metálico en general, y concretamente quiero dejar en el blog la canción que da nombre a la obra, "Heroes", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Cutty Sark - Die Tonight

DIE  TONIGHT

Un poquito más de heavy metal de aquel que influyó, de aquel que lo empezó todo, de la vieja escuela, en esta ocasión encarbado en una banda alemana, "Cutty Sark". Esta banda se formó en 1979 y tras dos épocas de actividad hoy en día hace ya mucho que no están en activo, su primer momento musical lo vivieron entre 1979 y 1987, para después tener un último coletazo de vida entre 1998 y 1999. En total han editado tres LP's en toda su carrera y un EP, como digo de un heavy metal de factura clásica y que bebe directamente de la fuente primigenia del heavy metal, grupos como este, tantos y tan desconocidos son fundamentales para entender el torrente musical metalico que generaron con el concepto que en aquellos años finales de los 70 y comienzos de los 80 estaba en pañales pero con la energía ya de un ciclón musical, era el heavy metal en estado puro. Como digo estos chicos alemanes contribuyeron con su granito de arena an forma de tres discos, y hoy quiero dejar en el blog mi recuerdo para con ellos al referirme a su primer LP, este "Die Tonight", de 1984, y del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog el tema que da título a la obra, "Die Tonight", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
