WARRIORS  OF  THE  SEA 

Otro de los nombres clásicos dentro del heavy metal es el de la cantante alemana Doro Pesch que a lo largo del tiempo ha ido poniendo su granito de arena en la historia de nuestro sonido, primero con Warlock y luego bajo su propio nombre Doro. En este 2025 se suma a la tendencia general de sacar singles sueltos para mantenerse en la retina del gran público ante el elevado riesgo de olvido que cualquiera que permanezca en silencio durante más de un par de años. El nuevo tema "Warriors of the sea" se incluirá en la obra recopilatoria del mismo nombre que saldrá el próximo mes de octubre y en el que recoge también varios temas en vivo grabados en sus presentaciones en directo en los cruceros metálicos. Canciones para una vida - Doro - Unholy Love

UNHOLY  LOVE

Como ya dije en el blog con anterioridad, tras la progresiva desbandada de miembros que se fueron marchando de Warlock, la cantante Doro Pesch termino por quedar como único miembro fundador de la misma, y así, en 1989 decidiría cambiar Warlock como nombre de la banda por Doro. Las mismas bases, la misma idea pero centrando la atención sobre su persona, algo que las discográficas terminaron por ver con buenos ojos dándole apoyo ante el potencial de venta, más allá de lo musical, de una figura como la de Doro, coronada por aquellos entonces como una de las indiscutibles reinas metálicas de la escena internacional. Si nos vamos más allá de eso, y mirando estrictamente lo musical, una cierta evolución compositiva pero en la onda de lo hecho con Warlock, aunque la banda, creada para ella hacía que el resto de los varios músicos que apareciesen figurasen como artistas invitados o músicos de sesión más que como miembros en si mismos de la banda. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una canción de la segunda obra de Doro, "Doro" de 1990, un disco en que queda patente lo dicho, compuesto para el lucimiento de la cantante, a base de varias versiones de otras bandas y con otros tantos temas propios, uno de ellos este "Unholy love", que abre la obra y que fue single de la misma, y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

THUNDERSPELL

 Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de la vocalista y compositora alemana Doro Pesch, que  como todos sabemos, Warlock fue su banda original. La formación original de Warlock fue perdiendo miembros desde su segundo disco, hasta que tras el disco "triumph and agony" en 1987, tan solo Doro quedaba como miembro fundador de la banda y decide cesar la actividad como Warlock para pasar la banda a funcionar bajo el nombre de Doro, momento desde el que la banda ha sacado 12 Discos de estudio y numerosos EP's. Se puede decir que Doro por lo tanto es una continuación de Warlock pero su música ha evolucionado desde los tiempos de su banda madre, aunque utiliza habitualmente en su repertorio en directo temas de Warlock. El disco al que me voy a referir es su antepenúltima obra de estudio, la décima cronológicamente hablando bajo el nombre de Doro, del año 2006, "Warrior soul", un disco editado bajo el sello "AFM Records", y que tuvo una buena acogida entre su público, alcanzando por ejemplo en Alemania el número 27 en las listas de ventas, y del que ha alcanzado más fama el tema homónimo al título del disco "Warrior soul", que se convertido ya en un clásico de su repertorio. Hoy quiero dejar el tema "Thunderspell" de este disco, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

RAISE YOUR FIST IN THE AIR

Hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema de la vocalista y compositora alemana Doro Pesch, que  como todos sabemos, Warlock fue su banda original. La formación original de Warlock fue perdiendo miembros desde su segundo disco, hasta que tras el disco "triumph and agony" en 1987, tan solo Doro quedaba como miembro fundador de la banda y decide cesar la actividad como Warlock para pasar la banda a funcionar bajo el nombre de Doro, momento desde el que la banda ha sacado 12 Discos de estudio y numerosos EP's. Se puede decir que Doro por lo tanto es una continuación de Warlock pero su música ha evolucionado desde los tiempos de su banda madre, aunque utiliza habitualmente en su repertorio en directo temas de Warlock. El disco al que me voy a referir es su última obra de estudio hasta la fecha de esta reseña, titulado "Raise your fist", del año 2012, y el tema el que casi da titulo a la obra, Raise your fist in the air, todo un ejemplo del sonido de esta musico de larga trayectoria en la escena musical.
