Se va acercando la fecha de salida oficial de "Steelbound" (17 de octubre), el que será el séptimo LP de estudio de la banda finlandesa, otro de esos grupos de gran impacto general con cada nuevo trabajo, cabeza de cartel en la mayoría de los conciertos a los que se acercan a participar por méritos propios, y hoy quiero dejar en el blog su último adelanto en el blog, "Angel of midnight" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Otra de las grandes bandas actuales mueve ficha en estos días presentando un nuevo single que puede ser el preludio de un nuevo album del que todavía no tengo noticia, se trata de los finlandeses Battle Beast y de su single "Last Goodbye", una vez más un tema con el sello de la banda que parece haber encontrado la senda del éxito y han decidido continuar por ella sin torcerse en su propuesta, un tema del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

ARMAGEDDON

Nuevo repaso a la última de las obras de los finlandeses "Battle Beast" que en este 2022 nos han dejado su sexto LP de estudio, el tercero ya sin Kabanen, habiendo sin duda encontrado su propio estilo y demostrando sin ningun lugar a dudas que la banda original daba para dos facilmente. La citada propuesta del grupo como es conocido, se interna en terrenos más modernillos si se quiere, más electrónicos en ocasiones y con un gusto grande por temas enganchones y fáciles de guardar en tu cabeza, alejandose en cierto modo del concepto más europower que les caracterizaba en sus comienzos. Esa facilidad para crear singles vendibles queda patente en varios de los temas también de esta obra, "Circus of doom", como por ejemplo en la canción "Armageddon" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Battle Beast - Freedom

 

FREEDOM

El sexto Lp de los finlandeses Battle Beast, "Circus Of Doom" cuya salida oficial fue el pasado 21 de enero, va enseñando sus puntos fuertes, así como la consolidación de una fórmula que parece funcionarles a la perfeccion, con temas más fieles a un euro power digamos tradicional y otros más orientados a rasgos electrónicos y/o modernos. El caso es que la banda se nota que pasa por un buen momento personal y parecen ir dejando atrás esa salida de la banda de Kabanen y la aparente presión de demostrar que había vida compositiva después de Kabanen, cosa que ha quedado clara. No es menos cierto que aquellos que critiquen a la banda en su forma de expresarse musicalmente no tendrán dificultad en perpetuar sus argumentos, pero al final toda banda trata de seguir el camino que se ha trazado, lo que siempre trae críticas por parte de quien no comparta dicha visión. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otra de las canciones que forman parte de este album, en esta ocasión una de las 100% Battle Beast en el sentido power, con los elementos propios de un single de la banda, "Freedom" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Battle Beast - Master Of Illusion

 

MASTER  OF  ILLUSION

Primeros coletazos del que será el sexto LP de estudio de los finlandeses "Battle Beast" cuya salida oficial se espera para este próximo mes de enero de 2022. Es curioso el duelo, (buscado o no), que la banda se trae a la hora de editar material con la banda creada por su ex compañero Anton Kabanen "Beast In Black", conicidiendo por lo genral en la publicación de diiscos de ambas bandas por tan solo unos meses de diferencia. Más allá de polémicas, (reales o casualidades), lo cierto es que Battle Beast sin Kabanen siguen adelante con paso firme, en una propuesta compositiva que tienen clara y que va en esa línea que también han trazado Beast in black, aunque menos electrónica que estos últimos. El primer adelanto de la nueva obra de 2022 se llama "Master Of Illusion" y muestra bien esa continuidad a la que me refiero, una canción de la que hoy dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Battle Beast - Piece Of Me

 

PIECE  OF  ME

Si seguimos la progresión histórica de los finlandeses "Battle Beast", en lo que se refiere a la productividad compositiva, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017 y 2019, es facil predecir que este próximo año 2021 debería tener muchas papeletas para ver material nuevo de la banda, dicho sea desde el absoluto desconocimiento de sus intenciones reales. Sea como sea, seguro que cuando se decidan a sacar su próximo LP la legión de seguidores aumentará un punto más, y es que, a pesar de los cambios producidos en la banda y ya muchas veces comentados en este blog, Battle Beast ha sabido continuar en esa línea ascendente a nivel internacional. Es siempre pues buen momento para recoger alguno de sus temas pasados, en este caso de su quinto y hasta la fecha de esta reseña, último LP editado, "No more Hollywood Endings" del pasado 2019, con ese toque tan ochentero y un tanto electrónico al tiempo, como queda bien patente en el tema que dejo hoy en el blog, "Piece of me" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Battle Beast - King For A Day

KING  FOR  A  DAY

 El cuarto LP de los finlandeses "Battle Beast" es un buen ejemplo del sonido actual de la banda, siempre con el asunto de la salida de Anton Kabanen de la banda, el motor compositivo hasta el anterior trabajo del grupo, pero que poco a poco van superando con la demostración de la efectiva manera de componer su sonido en la era post Kabanen, y es de justicia reconocer que la banda está en pelna forma y seguramente ha encontrado su propia identidad. El sonido power "popero", vendible, un tanto "facilón" queda patente en temas como este "King for a day" que no puedes sacar facilmente de tu cabeza desde el inicio, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Battle Beast - Raise Your Fists

RAISE  YOUR  FISTS

 Traigo de nuevo el último disco publicado por la banda finlandesa "Battle Beast" con la intención de romper una lanza en su favor. Debo reconocer que al comienzo de escuchar la citada obra sentí que no iba a surtir ninguna opinión buena en mi, sobre todo atendiendo al single que da nombre a la obra. Sin embargo, para ser justos, más allá de la polémica que siempre acompañará a la banda, la salida de Kabanen  y la creación de Beast In Black, creo que la banda ha encontrado finalmente su propia parcela sonora, evidentemente con muchas similitudes a lo que hacían en tiempos de Kabanen, pero este disco me ha parecido una apuesta más personal si se quiere y eso es digno al menos de respeto. Dejo otro de los temas que componen este quinto LP de estudio, la canción "Raise your fists" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Battle Beast - Eden

EDEN

En esta especie de "guerra" abierta declarada entre "Battle Beast" y "Beast In Black", llega un nuevo capítulo.Se trata de esa comparación entre el segundo LP de Beast in Black que ha visto la luz recientemente, y el quinto LP de Battle Beast, (segundo sin Anton Kavanen), que lo hará este próximo 22 de marzo. Sin duda creo que va a resultar difícil desligar a ambas bandas de esa obsesión por prevalecer sobre la otra, y creo que al final puede resultar contraproducente para ambas, aunque ellas mismas lo tengan muy difícil para intentar que se las vea como bandas independientes que no piensen la una en la otra. Sea como sea, las comparaciones están ahí, y por el momento parece inclinarse la balanza del lado de Kavanen, o lo que es lo mismo Beast In Black. Cuerpo a cuerpo, en las mismas condiciones compositivas y en el mismo campo de batalla sonoro es evidente quien tiene las de ganar, y quizá por ello, Battle Beast ha comenzado a variar su estilo hacia otra cosa, en esta ocasión al menos, y juzgando los dos temas de adelanto que llevan, con un aire mucho más "Nightwish" si se quiere. El primer single que da título a la obra, directamente me ha parecido carente de todo gancho, y de casi identidad metálica, muy mala idea, en mi opinión. Este segundo adelanto, "Eden", ha sido más de mi agrado, aunque como digo en una onda muy diferente a lo que venían haciendo, quizá buscando esa nueva identidad sonora que les aleje un poco de lo que Kavanen sigue haciendo, (y muy bien) con Beast In Black. Un sonido más "Nightwish", encarnado en este "Eden", del que dejo un enlace a youtube. Esperemos que no se les vaya la mano, veremos.

Canciones para una vida - Battle Beast - Lionheart

LIONHEART

Un nuevo repaso a la discografía de los finlandeses Battle Beast me lleva de nuevo a su tercer Lp de estudio, "Unholy savior", de 2015, la última obra en la que participase el guitarrista y compositor Anton Kabanen antes de su salida del grupo por motivos conocidos y ya mencionados en otras entradas del esta banda. No repetiré lo dicho en otras ocasiones, tan solo dejar hoy en el blog otro tema de este disco, concretamente la canción que abre la obra "Lionheart", con todos los ingredientes propios de Battle Beast en el ya denominado "Pop metal" que practican, con ese aire de heavy metal de toda la vida, una utilización de los teclados en una linea un tanto ochentera, una base power, una producción limpia y unos coros acompañados de melodías que se quedan a la primera. Otro buen ejemplo, este "Lionheart" del que hoy dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Battle Beast - Bastard Son Of Odin

BASTARD  SON  OF  ODIN

Ya he hablado de lo sucedido en la banda Battle Beast en el blog, de como la separación de un miembro fundamental puso contra las cuerdas a la formación restante, y es que estamos en esa circunstancia tan habitual en esto de la música de pelearse por "la gallina de los huevos de oro". Siempre que entra en la ecuación "la pasta" suele salir alguien mal parado, máxime cuando además hay acusaciones internas en el grupo de quien hace que, quien tiene tales derechos o en que dirección debe ir el grupo. Sea como sea la separación de Battle Beast no llegó a producirse y de la marcha de Anton Kabanen salio la banda Beast in Black, prometiendo hacer una "justicia musical" a su proclamada "injusticia" en Battle Beast". Más allá de eso, está claro que Battle Beast aprendió bien la senda que labrase Anton Kabanen en el grupo en su periodo de estancia en el, y en este primer LP sin él a bordo, "Bringer Of Pain" han sabido perpetuarse en el sonido, con esa dosis muchas veces "cuasi popera", un tanto electrónica y moderna de la que siguen haciendo su seña de identidad. Dejo hoy en el blog otro de los temas de este cuarto LP de los finlandeses, concretamente "Bastard son of Odin" del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

FAMILIAR  HELL

Primer adelanto de la nueva obra de los finlandeses Battle Beast, disco que será el cuarto en la carrera de la banda y en el que se enfrentan a la marcha de su guitarrista y compositor Anton Kabanen que ha terminado recalando en Wisdom. Para afrontar esta nueva etapa han escogido a un joven músico que ha demostrado su buen hacer en el grupo Brymir, Joona Bjorkroth, quien compagina su labor como guitarrista y cantante de voz limpia en ambas bandas, (Brymir y ahora Battle Beast). Volviendo al grupo, Battle Beast se ha tenido que enfrentar ya a varios cambios a lo largo de una carrera, por otra parte, desde sus inicios con buena estrella en lo que a exito y aceptación se refiere. Algunos de los cambios afectaban al puesto de cantante, Nitte Valo, ahora en Burning Point, sustituida por sustituida por Noora Louhimo desde 2012 en adelante. Ahora nos enfrentamos a la salida de esta nueva obra, una vez más con una sustitución trascendental que superar, aunque parece que el puesto de guitarra polivalente estará bien cubierto a juzgar por las credenciales de Joona, veremos, hasta que no se escuche la obra completa, "Bringer of pain" que saldrá de forma oficial el próximo 17 de febrero,  no debemos juzgar, para abrir boca dejo en el blog el tema de adelanto "Familiar Hell", del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial para ver por donde irán los tiros, personalmente creo que menos power, más vendible, algo más "Lordineano" podríamos decir.

Battle Beast es una banda finlandesa que esta en plena explosión internacional, aumentando disco a disco su legión de seguidores, y es normal escuchando la calidad de sus trabajos. Como ya hemos dicho en alguna entrada anterior de esta banda, se forman en 2005, y funcionan a base de demos hasta 2010, tratando de llegar a una discográfica que les diese apoyo para grabar su material. Es en ese año 2010 cuando cambia su carrera musical y comienzan a llegar al público finlandés cuando telonean a Blaze Bayley (que sustituyó a Bruce Dickinson en Iron Maiden mientras estuvo ausente de la banda). Además también en 2010 ganan un concurso nacional. Todo ello les lleva a conseguir un contrato discográfico y en 2011 graban su primer larga duración "Steel" con un cierto éxito que les hace girar por Europa con Nightwish. Como calidad tienen de sobra todo lo demás va viniendo solo. Hasta la fecha de esta reseña tres obras de estudio les contemplan, la última de ellas de este 2015. En otoño de 2012, tras los festivales de verano de Finlandia anuncian que la cantante Nitte Valo deja el grupo por cuestiones familiares, siendo sustituida por Noora Louhimo, que sigue hasta la actualidad. Battle Beast nos ha dejado en este 2015 una obra con un sonido perfecto, de esos discos diseñados para aumentar las filas de sus seguidores, con una impecable producción y con canciones, (la mayoría) muy enganchonas y fáciles de tararear en tu cabeza con pocas escuchas, solo veo un problema, y no es pequeño, en el futuro próximo de este buen grupo, y es la marcha de Anton Kavanen, guitarrista, y principal, o casi único, compositor del grupo deja la banda, algo que puede ser un duro golpe para la estabilidad del grupo y su continuidad al nivel que hasta ahora han demostrado, veremos como se desarrollan los hechos. Hoy quiero hablar de la segunda obra de la banda, de título homónimo al grupo "Battle Beast", del año 2013. Se trata de un disco que llegó al número 5 en su Finlandia natal, y que sirvió para aumentar el nombre de la banda y darse a conocer fuera de sus fronteras. Muy buenas canciones componen esta obra, entre las más conocidas su "Black Ninja", single de adelanto de esta obra y de la que hoy quiero dejar un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Cancioners para una vida - Battle Beast - Kingdom

KINGDOM

Nuevo repaso a la discografía de esta magnífica banda finlandesa a la que ya he acudido en varias ocasiones a pesar de la corta aún producción musical, pero es que sus tres obras publicadas a fecha de esta reseña dan para mucho debido a la calidad de las mismas. Ya me referí en más de una ocasión a su trayectoria musical y por lo tanto no repetiré otra vez su historia. He estado leyendo sobre la marcha de Anton Kabanen, guitarrista, principal compositor e incluso voz adicional, un hueco que se me antoja realmente difícil de rellenar, y tampoco se especifica gran cosa, de momento siguen girando y para suplir la ausencia de Kabanen han unido a la banda en labores guitarreras para sus "shows" en vivo a Joona Bjorkroth, de Brymir, y a Ossi Maristo. La verdadera prueba de fuego vendrá cuando tengan que presentar un nuevo LP, veremos. Hoy quiero regresar una vez más a su segundo álbum de estudio, el homónimo al nombre de la banda, "Battle Beast", de 2013, espectacular obra de muchos y grandes temas, de entre los que hoy quiero destacar su "Kingdom", una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

En estos dias se ha filtrado la noticia de que Anton Kavanen, guitarrista, y principal, o casi único, compositor del grupo deja la banda, algo que puede ser un duro golpe para la estabilidad del grupo y su continuidad al nivel que hasta ahora han demostrado, veremos como se desarrollan los hechos. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una canción de su primer larga duración "Steel", de 2011. Un disco del que destacaron dos singles, "Show me how to die", y "Enter the metal world", lo que hizo que el album alcanzase el número 7 en Finlandia. Su éxito hizo que "Nuclear Blast" se fijase en ellos ofreciendoles su apoyo en adelante, y por ahí se dice que es el sello discográfico el que puede ser causante de la salida de Anton Kavanen de la banda. En fin, discográficas. Volviendo al disco "Steel", diré que es altamente recomendable, pues además de los dos singles anteriormente citados, tiene una gran colección de canciones de un heavy metal completamente afilado, como demuestran temas como este "Iron Hand" del que hoy dejo un enlace a youtube.
