Canciones para una vida - Pegasus - Midnight Past

MIDNIGHT PAST

Otra banda alemana, una vez más desconocida para el gran público, se trata de Pegasus, no confundir con los "Pegazus" (con "Z") de Australia que antes o después vendrán al blog. A diferencia de los australianos que hacen un power metal, estos Pegasus alemanes hacen un black metal melódico con una base un poco Power heavy metal con un toque épico, en el que alternan voces limpias femeninas, y masculinas black - death metaleras. La banda se crea en Alemania en 1993, y a pesar de todos los años que hace de su formación han editado solo 3 EP's y dos LP's en todo este tiempo, habiéndose enfrentado a una gran inestabilidad en la formación en cuanto a sus integrantes, así, de los que formaron el grupo tan solo permanece en la banda Thorsten Muller, cantante masculino principal y bajista, en todos los demás puestos ha ido habiendo cambios, destacando el de cantante femenina que ha visto pasar por él a al menos cinco cantantes diferentes. La banda sigue aún en supuesta actividad a pesar de que su último material editado sea del año 2006, que fuera reeditado en 2011, pero como digo, sin grabar nada nuevo llevan casi una década. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una canción de esa última obra hasta la fecha de esta reseña, "The Epic Quest", de 2006, en concreto "Midnight Past", un tema que empieza bastante a medio gas, pero con una gran carga épica, y en el que podemos oir la voz femenina llevando todo el peso de la canción, la voz de Martina Klink, acompañada por esa atmósfera como digo épica y algún coro de fondo masculino, un tema muy resultón si te va el asunto épico, que originalmente aparece en su segundo EP "Dragons of Hope" de 2002, y que también lo hace en este "The Epic Quest" aunque en su versión reeditada de 2011, un tema del que dejo hoy un enlace a youtube.

 We find a path that we‘ve never seen before
suddenly from nowhere he appears
and I hear a voice, that is calling me
We have to know where this path is leading to
so we decide to leave our present route
but we can‘t foresee, what is awaiting us

but this can‘t be real, I cannot trust my eyes
