THE RYTHM OF LOVE
Ya nos hemos acercado en más de una ocasión a esta banda en el blog, y en otras entradas podéis leer un pequeño repaso de su historia, donde destacamos sus cifras mareantes de records de ventas, números uno, etc. Hoy quiero volver a este grupo para referirme a uno de sus discos amado y criticado a partes iguales, y es que si nos fijamos en su año de producción podemos entender algunas cosas, y me explico, se trata del "Savage Amusement", su décimo ya disco de estudio, del año 1988, es decir, la banda ya llevaba un largo recorrido por aquel entonces, y es que estos chicos están fuera de toda estadística, por ejemplo, en este blog hablamos de música desde 1980 en adelante, pues estos tíos ya llevaban casi una década tocando antes de eso, solo por ello y por la importancia de su carrera y su continuidad hasta hoy en día merecen el mayor de los respetos. Datos increíbles como 160 millones de discos vendidos en el mundo, más de 5000 conciertos, o este año la edición de una demo inédita que celebra nada menos que el 50 aniversario de la creación de esos temas dejan sin habla. Así que si en esta época, la del disco que hoy nos ocupa decidieron dar un aire más popero y comercial a su sonido, acercándose incluso a la "horterilla" indumentaria glam americana, quienes somos nosotros para criticarlo... era 1988, muchas bandas cayeron en eso.... pero musicalmente hablando "Savage amusement" no es ni mucho menos un mal disco como muchos dicen por ahí, tampoco es evidentemente el mejor de los escorpiones, pero importante si que es, a nivel de ventas, y de música. También supuso un cambio interno en la banda pues sería la última obra producida por su técnico de siempre Dieter Dierks. El disco desde luego tiene un aire innegable comercial y un mayor flirteo con el hard rock, bañado con un toque metal clásico, el que siempre tuvieron. Grandes canciones componen esta obra, unas por vendibles, "The Rythm of love", "Passion rules the game", "Media Overkill" o "Walking on the Edge" y otros por calidad más heavy como "We let it Rock...You let it Roll" o "Love on the Run". Hoy quiero ir al posible mayor hit del disco, "The Rythm of love", que pegó en las radios de todo el planeta, un buen tema, parte de la historia del heavy en general, de la que dejo un enlace a youtube
