HARBINGER OF WAR

Un poquito de black metal melódico con un toque power metalero y un toque épico, se trata de los daneses Heidra, una joven banda que hasta la fecha de esta reseña tan solo tienen editado un EP y un LP. El grupo fue formado en 2006 por unos músicos que buscaban cubrir un vacío, bajo su punto de vista, que tenía la escena musical de su país, para lo que se plantearon mezclar lo que más les gustaba de cada estilo musical que solían escuchar, para ello cogieron la crudeza del black metal y lo mezclaron con los aspectos melódicos del folk metal o lo sinfónico del power metal. Así, entre 2008 y 2011 editan dos demos, y ya en 2012 editan su primer material oficial en forma de EP, "Storm of vengeance", autoproducido y grabado aún sin batería oficial en el grupo, labor de la que se encargaría el dueño de los estudios donde la banda grabó el EP. Aún en 2012 consiguen un batería ya a tiempo completo y en 2014 graban su primer LP, " Awaiting Dawn", habiendo firmado por el sello menor "Mighty Music". Esta obra de la que quiero dejar hoy un tema en el blog nos enseña todas esas influencias a las que antes hacíamos referencia y que van desde el flok viking metal hasta el power symphonic metal pasando por el melodic black-death metal. En la obra se intercalan voces death con voces limpias en un buen equilibrio, un disco con una continua atmósfera "nórdica", y un ataque constante a base de riffs que conquista al oyente enseguida, sobre todo si eres amante del sonido de los Wintersun, Moonsorrow o incluso Suidakra. Un álbum que saca buena nota en conjunto y del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog un tema, aunque seguramente volvamos a este disco en alguna otra ocasión más.
