ANOTHER TRANSITION

Raintime era una banda italiana que hacia un power metal - death metal con un cierto aire progresivo. Se crea en 1999 y tienen un periodo de actividad hasta 2012 en que la mayoría de sus miembros, inmersos en proyectos paralelos deciden cesar su actividad en la banda. En sus años vivo, este grupo nos ha dejado tres discos de estudio, en 2005 su debut, "Tales from sadness", en 2007 el fantástico "Flies and lies", del que hoy quiero dejar un tema en el blog, y en 2010 la que sería su última obra hasta su separación, "Psychromatic". En general, Raintime se trata de una talentosa banda que como decía al comienzo hace un death metal con clara influencia Power Metal y una pincelada progresiva que se nota más en unos temas que en otros, y que sobre todo fue una cuestión vocacional en los inicios de la banda debido a la admiración de gran parte de la banda por el trabajo de los magníficos "Dream Theater". De hecho, Raintime editó una demo instrumental titulada "Jump in the past", en la que queda patente esa influencia. Volviendo a la obra que hoy nos ocupa, "Flies and lies", de 2007 como antes decía, vemos una buena colección de canciones, más centradas en su death - con base Power metal, un disco bastante reconocido entre la crítica y del que podemos destacar varios temas, como el que hoy he escogido para ilustrar la enorme capacidad que estos músicos atesoraban, "Another Transition", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
