TELL THE TRUTH
Cuando uno se sumerge en los inicios del sonido metálico corre siempre el riesgo de descubrir auténticas joyas que apenas han tenido repercusión y reconocimiento atendiendo a su calidad, este es el caso una vez más de la banda que hoy traigo al blog, "Hawk". Esta banda estadounidense se forma en el año 1984 y en principio tan solo editó un primer disco de estudio, con título homónimo al nombre de la banda, "Hawk", en el año 1985, antes de que se separara, marchándose sus miembros a otras bandas, algunas tan renombradas como Racer X, Judas Priest, Guns 'n' roses o Velvet revolver, y es que la calidad de sus integrantes era mucha y este primer disco es una de esas obras que merece la pena ser descubiertas. Sus miembros ejecutaban un buen Heavy hard de la vieja escuela, y entre sus miembros estaban Scott Travis, batería, conocido como decía posteriormente por sus trabajos con Racer X, o Judas Priest entre otros, o también el músico Matt Sorum, también batería que estuvo una época en las bandas Guns 'n' Roses y Velvet Revolver entre otras. Además Doug Marks, guitarrista, logró cierto renombre como creador de su "Metal Method Series" como método de aprendizaje para guitarra. Además Marq Torien, guitarrista también de Bulletboys y ex de Ratt, Steve Ayola teclista, y Charlie Morrill, cantante, ex de "Black knight" o de "Bulletboys". En 2009 la banda editó su segundo LP, "Let the metal live", con la mayor parte del "line up" clásico. Volviendo a los origenes de "Hawk" quiero hoy dejar en el blog un tema de su primer disco, concretamente "Tell the truth", una canción que, si no habéis escuchado a la banda, seguramente os hará preguntaros por qué esta no llegó y otras sí, pregunta demasiado recurrente en nuestro mundillo y de difícil respuesta, en fin, dejo un enlace a youtube de este "Tell the Truth".
