LET THE DEMON FREE

Thunderstone son un grupo finlandés de power metal que se forma en el año 2000 con músicos procedentes de otras bandas. Así, como digo en 2000, el guitarrista Nino Laurenne, que por aquel entonces militaba en la banda de thrash "Antidote" decide buscar un sonido más cercano al power metal, tan en auge en esos años, para lo que une sus fuerzas al batería Mirka Rantanen, (quien posteriormente se encargará de la batería en el curioso proyecto "Hevisaurus" del que quizás algún día hablemos), y al cantante Pasi Rantanen (Hermanos y ambos colaboradores habituales de "Warmen").A ellos se une Kari Tornack en los teclados. Así formada, la banda comienza su andadura musical sacando su primer material de estudio en 2002, su disco "Thunderstone". En total han editado cinco obras de estudio, la última de ellas en 2009. En 2007 tuvieron un periodo de tiempo en que cambiaron de vocalista, siendo Rick Altzy el encargado de cantar para la banda, teoricamente hasta 2013, un vocalista de conocida reputación tras su paso por bandas como "At Vance", "Frequency", "Masterplan", etc. Ese 2007 es también el año en que el teclista Kari tornack deja la banda para ser sustituido por Jukka Karinen conocido por su trabajo en "Kenziner". Pasi Rantanen vuelve al grupo como cantante en 2013. Viendo la cantidad de grupos que hemos mencionado de primera linea es evidente que la calidad de los integrantes de Thunderstorm es buena, y aunque su música es bastante "normalita", si que encontramos buenas canciones que merecen la pena, como por ejemplo, en su primera obra, "Thunderstone", homónima al grupo, de 2002, su canción, "Let the demon free", un tema un poco en la onda "stratovarius", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.
