MARCH OF THE GLADIATORS

Dammaj son una de esas bandas cuya historia se desarrolla en los años 80 y en el marco del heavy metal, el de la old school. Este grupo estadounidense tuvo un periodo de actividad entre 1981 y 1987 y han decidido reunirse en 2010, aunque desde ese momento solo han editado dos singles. En total su producción musical se limita a un único LP, "Munity", de 1986, un disco que sorprenderá a mucha gente que no lo haya escuchado por la calidad musical que atesora a pesar de, una vez más, haber pasado de puntillas por la escena internacional. Como dato curioso, la banda la forman tres hermanos, los Gilbert, de origen británico, concretamente londinense, dos de ellos a la guitarra, Rich y Mick, y otro al bajo, Steve. El plantel lo completan el batería Bob Newkirk y el cantante Greg Hill. Como decía más arriba su concepto musical es un heavy metal de corte clásico. El disco fue editado a través de "Roadrunner Records" y como curiosidad no tuvieron mucho que decir en la elección de la portada, impuesta por la discográfica, una portada con la que han estado a disgusto toda su vida profesional. Bueno, en lo musical, un disco que recomiendo escuchar si te gusta el regusto clásico del heavy metal ochentero y del que hoy quiero dejar en el blog un enlace a youtube del tema "March of the gladiators".
