SHOOT TO KILL

Otra de esas bandas desconocidas para el gran público, y otra agradable sorpresa para descubrir si aún no lo conocías, se trata de los noruegos "Artch", una banda formada a principios de los 80 y que tuvo un periodo de actividad musical hasta casi mediados de los 90. Su orientación musical es claramente power metal en su primera obra mientras en su segunda el sonido gira un poco más hacia el "thrash" aunque con una gran base Power. "Artch" se crea en 1983, en Noruega, formada por Cato André Olsen a la guitarra y Bernt Jansen al bajo. En 1984 otro guitarrista, Geir Nilssen, el batería Jørn Jamissen y el cantante Lars Fladeby se integran el la banda procedentes del grupo noruego "Oxygen". Fladeby, será sustituido en 1986 por Eirikur Hauksson, un genial cantante islandés con un registro en ocasiones muy parecido al de Bruce Dickinson. Con esta formación se embarcan en la edición de su propia música, viendo la luz dos obras de estudio, la primera de ellas de 1988, "Another Return", con una base más power metal, como decía al principio, en lo que es un gran disco que recomiendo escuchar entero. La segunda obra, "For the sake of mankind", de 1991, con un cierto giro hacia el thrash, merece también un repaso con calma. En 1993 la banda se separa y parece ser que en 2000 se reune de nuevo parte de ella aunque no han editado más material. En 2010 parece ser que la formación original se vuelve a juntar, pero igualmente no han dado señales musicales de vida desde entonces. Volviendo a su obra musical, quiero dejar hoy otro tema de su primera obra, "Another return", de 1988, de la que quiero hoy destacar la canción "Shoot to kill", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
