STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND

Sexta obra de los británicos, otro paso más hacia el mito, en una época en que su sonido se vuelve un poco más experimental, y tras el periodo más largo sin editar material de estudio desde su formación, ya que hasta 1984 venían editando una obra por año y en 1985 descansaron, eso sí, editando el "Live after death", antológico directo de la gira del "Powerslave", para regresar en 1986 a los estudios con este "Somewhere in time", que resulto un nuevo éxito de ventas, de hecho en este momento de la carrera de los Maiden su reconocimiento internacional era casi unánime y cada disco que editaban era sinónimo de éxito casi instantáneo. De esta obra han vendido solo en Estados Unidos más de un millón de copias. Desde luego la maquinaria estaba mejor engrasada que nunca y Maiden comenzaba a ser sinónimo de dinero, el comienzo del fin para la banda según mucha gente. Sea como sea, yo alargaría la buena forma de esta banda irrepetible a toda la década de los 80, aunque si que es cierto que en este disco el sonido del grupo comenzó a cambiar un poco, mediante la inclusión de sintetizadores en la guitarra. Sin embargo, para mi gusto el sonido seguía teniendo el gancho de los Maiden clásicos aún, algo que comenzarían a perder definitivamente tras el "Fear of the Dark" del 92. Del disco que nos ocupa muchos son los temas a destacar, siendo para mi un disco bastante completo del que hoy quiero destacar su tema "Stranger in a strange land", una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
