Canciones para una vida - Gary Moore - Empty Rooms

EMPTY  ROOMS

 Dos temas consecutivos de este genio de la guitarra en el blog, es lo que tiene ponerse a desempolvar bandas antiguas de las que llevabas tiempi sin escuchar, que al final te das cuenta de lo grandes que llegaron a ser y te dan ganas de recuperarlas. Absolutamente válido lo dicho para la anterior entrada del blog sobre este músico, así que no me repetiré, solo mencionar que este "Victims of the future" de 1983 fue el cuarto album del músico, en una línea heavy metal, pero sin cerrar la puerta a temas que han llegado a ser clásicos reconocidos y reconocibles dentro y fuera del mundillo, como es el caso de este "Empty Rooms" que en esta obra tendría la versión inicial que posteriormente reharía y publicaría, más acorde a su radiodifusión en otro de sus albumes, prefiriendo personalmente este primer intento, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Gary Moore - Out In The Fields

OUT  IN  THE  FIELDS

Hay figuras que no deberían faltar en cualquier tipo de recopilatorio metálico por la calidad y la importancia en lo suyo, y uno de ellos es sin duda Gary Moore. El Irladés fue conocido musicalmente hablando por varios momentos diferentes, algunos de ellos llenos por su pasión por el "Blues", sin embargo la parte inicial de su carrera estuvo mucho más ligada al heavy metal, y una de sus obras que apostaba por ese tipo de composiciones era su sexto album de estudio bajo su nombre "Run For Cover", de 1985. Cosechando buenas ventas incluyendo temas bastante famosos y reconocidos internacionalmente, como por ejemplo la canción de la obra "out in the fields" que, como hecho curioso contó con la colaboración de Phil Lynott, con uien trabajó en "Thin Lizzy", y que resultaría ser la última grabación de Lynott en estudio antes de su muerte a comienzos de 1986. Caprichos del destino. UNIVERSAL  TRUTH

 El tandem Schaffer - Kursch es una vez más demostración de como, al juntar esfuerzos músicos de primera el resultado no puede ser otro que eso, de primera. Hoy quiero traer al blog por segunda vez una de las canciones de la nueva obra editada este año 2020. Evidentemente la creación de material entre músicos con un caracter musical y compositivo tan marcado como es el caso de ambos, hace que la mezcla resulte interesante, algo ya comprobado en las dos anteriores obras del proyecto "Demons & Wizards", algo que se perpetua en este "III" de 2020. Canciones para una vida - Tyrant - Making Noise And Driking Beer

MAKING  NOISE  AND  DRINKING  BEER

De nuevo quiero recuperar hoy este disco que ya traje al blog en su momento, de una de las muchas bandas que lo intentaron bajo el nombre de "Tyrant", en concreto la alemana que ejecutaba ese heavy metal un tanto "speed" y absolutamente con la esencia de la old school. Estamos, por supuesto, hablando de la década de los ochenta, y de una banda centrada en ese sonido tan auténtico y tan clásico. Esta banda estuvo en activo toda la década, (1981 - 1989), sin llegar a destacar en exceso, pero dejando un legado en forma de cuatro LP's de puro heavy metal del más alto nivel. Hoy, como decia al inicio, quiero recuperar otra de las canciones de su primer album de estudio, "Mean Machine" de 1984, donde ya demostraban que lo suyo era metal sin concesiones y que su carrera iría por esos senderos, como así terminó siendo, antes de su separación definitiva, una vez más demasiado temprana y demasiado poco reconocida su carrera. La canción de hoy es "Making noise and drinking beer", seguramente todo un resumen de su planteamiento compositivo, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Allen-Olzon - What If I Live

WHAT  IF  I  LIVE

Parece que este 2020 es el año definitivo de relanzamiento de la cantante Anette Olzon, a través de varios proyectos diferentes aunque siempre en una onda similar, y siempre en colaboración con músicos de primera línea. En esta ocasión me quiero referir al proyecto comenzado el pasado 2019 y que en el presente 2020 ha visto como daba fruto en forma del primer LP, "Worlds apart", me refiero al tandem Russell Allen y Anette Olzon. Por todos es conocido el talento del cantante conocido y reconocido por su trabajo en bandas de renombre tales como Symphoy X, o Adrenaline Mob entre otros, además de su colaboración con Jorn Lande en el proyecto-banda Allen Lande. Ahora emprende con Olzon este nuevo capitulo colaborativo que veremos que recorrido termina por tener. Hablamos de un power sinfónico, con el apoyo de la discográfica "Frontiers". Sin destacar por la originalidad si que podemos hablar de composiciones y producción impecables, con el toque del guitarrista sueco Magnus Karlsson, orientadas al público que pretenden agradar, lograndolo sin duda. KING  FOR  A  DAY

 El cuarto LP de los finlandeses "Battle Beast" es un buen ejemplo del sonido actual de la banda, siempre con el asunto de la salida de Anton Kabanen de la banda, el motor compositivo hasta el anterior trabajo del grupo, pero que poco a poco van superando con la demostración de la efectiva manera de componer su sonido en la era post Kabanen, y es de justicia reconocer que la banda está en pelna forma y seguramente ha encontrado su propia identidad. El sonido power "popero", vendible, un tanto "facilón" queda patente en temas como este "King for a day" que no puedes sacar facilmente de tu cabeza desde el inicio, una canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Blitzkrieg - Vikings

VIKINGS

Nuevamente en el blog esta banda británica, "Blitzkrieg" uno de esos grupos que llevan una eternidad en la escena internacional, y además subsistiendo un tanto al margen de todo, del reconocimiento, de las ventas, de la presión, de la continuidad, de cualquier tipo de "cliche" y sin embargo, aún en la brecha. Atípicos, como digo, en practicamente todo, es una banda con un sonido bien personal, con las raices de su creación en la misma NWOBHM, hijos legítimos del citado e hiperconocido movimiento, pero desde el pricipio con un enfoque personal que ha mantenido el grupo hasta nuestros días. De los miembros originales tan solo Brian Ross a los teclados y voz permanece tirando del carro hasta nuestros días, y a lo largo de las épocas de la banda han editado un total de 10 LP's de estudio. Hoy quiero echar la vista al inicio de su carrera, con la edición de su debut en 1985, "A time of Changes", de la que hoy quiero dejar uno de sus temas, "Vikings", canción de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Anger - Feel The Fire Burning

FEEL  THE  FIRE  BURNING

 Una de las varias bandas llamadas "Anger" a lo largo del tiempo dentro de nuestro sonido fueron estos daneses, cuyo sonido se enraizaba en el heavy metal clásico de los 80, y que desarrollo ese sonido de primera mano, es decir, fueron hijos de esa época puesto que su breve carrera se desarrollo entre los años 1983 y 1987, año en el que se separarían tras editar su único trabajo de estudio en forma de LP, "Reach for the sky", como digo de 1987. La formación, al menos aparentemente no contaba con miembros que luego llegasen a tener un nombre en otras bandas, pero el sonido que realizaban era más que interesante, lo tantas veces demostrado de la calidad y el reconocimiento y la ventas, algo que no siempre va de la mano. En definitiva, otro grupo más de esos perdidos en la historia metálica, que agradará a los amantes del sonido de la old school, y de la que dejo una de las canciones de su único LP "reach for the sky" de 1987, en concreto la canción "Feel the fire" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - The Dark Element - Songs The Night Sings

SONGS  THE  NIGHT  SINGS

 Parece sencillo revivir fórmulas, apostar por lo que ya ha funcionado alguna vez, pero además de la idea hay que llevarla a cabo de manera adecuada, y parece que el nuevo proyecto "Pseudo Nightwish" de Olzon y Liimatainen lo ha conseguido. La idea lleva ya unos años en funcionamiento, (desde 2016), y dos LP's para demostrarlo, "The Dark Element" de 2017 y este "Songs the night sings" del recién consumido 2019. Todos los que me conocen o siguen este blog saben mi predilección a la hora de encargarse de las voces en Nightwish por Anette Olzon, quizá por la forma de cantar fuera de la "Opereta", y ya se que es casi un sacrilegio para muchos estando "Tarja" en la ecuación, pero es lo que hay. Por ello, este proyecto "The darl element" tiene más papeletas para gustarme que incluso los propios Nightwish, pero si vamos más alla de ello, atendiendo simplemente a lo compositivo, la segunda obra de la banda-proyecto de primeras figuras de la escena finlandesa que es este "The dark Element" resulta más que interesante. En una onda muy Nightwish, como cabría esperar, se pueden descubrir buenos temas como el que da nombre a la obra, "Songs the night sings", canción de la que hoy dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Canciones para una vida - Eclipse - The Masquerade

THE  MASQUERADE

Otra banda que poco a poco, y por méritos propios, ha ido haciendose lentamente una reputación, en esta ocasión dentro del campo del heavy melódico - hard rock, eso si, de corte moderno y de calidad innegable. Su carrera se remonta ya a 1999 y en estos 20 años ya de carrera han editado 7 LP's de estudio contando este "Paradigm" salido el pasado mes de septiembre. Siempre apoyados en un importante componente melódico sus discos suelen ser interesantes en su conjunto, con muchos momentos importantes en los mismos, algo que se perpetua en esta nueva obra. Uno de esos temas destacables puede ser este "The Masquerade" que hoy dejo en el blog, con muchos de los ingredientes marca de la casa, y de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Dynazty - Heartless Madness

HEARTLESS  MADNESS

"The Dark Delight" es ya el séptimo disco de estudio de los suecos "Dynazty", otra de esas bandas que pasito a pasito va completando su carrera, sin hacer mucho ruido pero con la notoriedad suficiente para tener que ser considerados seriamente. Con su concepto que salta del heavy power al hard rock de corte en ocasiones moderno y en otras más clásico, esta nueva obra, a juzgar por sus adelantos, promete seguir la misma senda. Canciones para una vida - Crypt - Metallust Fever

METALLUST  FEVER

 Hoy traigo al blog una de las muchas bandas que escogieron el nombre de "Crypt" como bandera de su carrera, en esta ocasión la banda de origen canadiense y estilo a medio gas entre un proto power - heavy - thrash metal que desarrollo su breve carrera en la década de los ochenta. Es, como siempre suelo decir, alucinante el volumen de grupos que adornó la citada década, e igualmente alucinante resulta pensar que muchos de esos grupos apenas llegaron a despuntar eclipsados por los grandes nombre de la época, sin embargo autenticidad y calidad estaban ahí, a pesar de los medios y la saturada escena del momento.Esto chicos, "Crypt" editaron solo una obra de estudio, "Stick to your guts", de 1987, venían algunos de sus miembros del proyecto anterior "Vices" y en 1985 adoptan el nombre de "Crypt" funcionando brevemente como digo hasta 1989. Con una clara influencia de la escuela americana su sonido bebe de muchas fuentes y siempre tiene presente el ramalazo thrash. Canciones para una vida - Mindstorm - See The Future

SEE  THE  FUTURE

Un nuevo vistazo atrás, ejercicio siempre recomendable para una mayor comprensión de lo que suena hoy en día, y para descubrir bandas que fueron y ya no son, algo de lo que hay un casi infinito número de ejemplos. De nuevo volvamos a la década de los 80 para descubrir a estos canadienses, "Mindstorm", con un sonido muy dentro de la segunda mitad de la citada década, enmarcado en esta ocasión en un hard-heavy. Formados a mediados de la década de los ochenta, su periodo de actividad se alargó hasta poco más alla de la mitad de la década de los 90, periodo en el que editaron tres discos de estudio, "mindstorm" en 1987, "back to reality" en 1991 y "III" en el 96. Una vez más estamos ante un grupo que apenas llegó a despuntar a pesar de su evidente buen hacer, haciendo buena la tradición de calidad de las bandas salidas de la cantera canadiense. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog una de las canciones de su debut, "Mindstorm" de 1987, en concreto la que abre la obra, "See the future", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.

Canciones para una vida - Hammerfall - Bloodline

BLOODLINE

Siempre sucede lo mismo con las canciones y discos de los suecos Hammerfall, esa dualidad entre defensores y detractores de la banda, lo cuestionable de la originalidad, de la autenticidad del sonido y lo oportuno de su irrupción en la escena internacional cuando el sonido metalico andaba "entre épocas". El caso, y lo justo es que la banda sigue a lo suyo, sacando obra tras obra sonando a si mismos y con su fórmula siguen enganchando a los que les defienden y cabreando a los que les denostan. Más allá de todo eso hoy quiero dejar en el blog otro de los temas de su última obra editada, "Dominion", el undécimo LP de estudio, del pasado 2019 y del que hoy dejo en el blog su canción "Bloodline" de la que dejo un enlace a youtube. Canciones para una vida - Nibiru Ordeal - Gone With The Wind

GONE  WITH  THE  WIND

Nibiru Ordeal son una banda finlandesa, formada en 2006, y en la que se rememora el sonido power característico dentro del estilo europeo. No será hasta 2015 que la banda comience a editar material de estudio propio, en esa ocasión en forma de EP.  En 2017, con la incorporación del cantante Andi Kravljaca, cuya trayectoria se une a bandas como Thaurorod, Silent call o Seventh wonder entre otras, el grupo da un paso más al frente editando el pasado año 2019 su primer LP de estudio, "Solar Eclipse", del que hoy quiero dejar una de sus canciones en el blog. El sonido de la banda se puede comparar a grandes bandas compatriotas de ellos como Stratovarius, con ese concepto melódico y una cierta vocación incluso progresiva en ocasiones y aunque este sea parcticamente el primero de sus pasos en la escena internacional, proeten dar que hablar en el futuro si la consistencia está de su lado.Hoy quiero dejar en el blog la canción "Gone with the wind", de la que dejo un enlace a youtube.
