JAWBREAKER
"Defenders of the faith" es la novena obra de estudio del grupo, del año 1984,
una obra con la difícil misión de suceder a su exitoso "screaming for
vengenace", y que en muchos sentidos sigue la filosofía de esa obra. El
éxito del disco fue instantáneo, picando el número 18 en las listas de
ventas estadounidenses alcanzando el estatus de platino en aquel país lo
que significa superar el millón de copias vendidas. Temas como
"Freewheel Burning", "Some heads are gonna roll" o "Love bites" o "The Sentinel"
contribuyeron decisivamente a ello, aunque el disco completo es
magnífico. Igualmente el tema que dejo hoy en el blog de este disco es uno de los destacables en mi humilde opinión, "Jawbreaker", una canción llena de guitarra de esa que se queda a vivir en tu cabeza, y además vocalmente con esa variación y la capacidad de Halford, un temazo de esos que son clásicos para siempre dentro del heavy metal.
