Electric Tomb - The Black Knight - Canciones Para Una Vida

THE  BLACK  KNIGHT

Vamos con una banda que se ha adaptado a una manera diferente de hacer las cosas, al margen de discográficas y a base de single y EP's cada poco tiempo, estamos ante esta otra manera de intentarlo, por tu cuenta y riesgo, eso puede ir en perjuicio de promoción y a veces de una mayor calidad productiva, pero por otra parte tienes ante tí toda la libertad posible para hacer lo que te parezca. Se trata de Electric Tomb, tras el que está el estadounidense Guy LeMay, quien se encarga de todo, lo técnico y la interpretación, escogiendo un marco sonoro de heavy doom. Comienza su andadura en 2020, publicando su primer EP en 2021, desde su comienzo un total de nueve singles y otros tantos EP's conforman su discografía. Ringlorn - Hallowed Swords - Canciones Para Una Vida

HALLOWED  SWORDS

Vamos a seguir con la interminable lista de bandas griegas, en el caso de las últimas que voy dejando en el blog nuevas, que no hacen sino reforzar esa idea de que la escena griega está en un presente magnífico y se le augura un futuro al menos igual. El grupo de hoy es Ringlorn, formados en 2022 y que en este 2025 han debutado en formato LP con su primera obra "Tales of war and magic", título que muestra un poco las intenciones de la banda, muy "griega" de nuevo, con ese aire a heavy clásico y esa intención épica en temática y en lo estrictamente sonoro. Stygian Path - Tides Of Time - Canciones Para Una Vida

TIDES  OF  TIME

Vamos con otra interesante banda emergente de la prolífica escena griega, en este caso Stygian Path, formados en esta década, (2022), y que dan su primer paso compositivo en este 2025 a través de su primer LP "The Lorekeeper", publicado de forma oficial el día tres de marzo. se trata una vez más de un sonido basado en el heavy metal de corte clásico, de vocación épica, un sonido digamos muy griego, atendiendo a la enorme cantidad de bandas que escogen esta senda sonora. BLOOD  AND  SOULS

De nuevo la escena griega, con otra recientemente creada banda que no hace sino mostrar que no solo son el presente de la escena internacional sino también prometen ser el futuro, una vez más en un concepto de heavy metal de corte clásico y propuesta épica. Se trata de Dragon Skull, formados en 2022, en ese mismo año ya dejan muestra de su capacidad en el primer material publicado en este caso en formato EP, y que ahora, en este 2025, verá su continuación en su primer LP, "Chaos fire vengeance" que ha visto la luz de forma oficial el pasado día seis de este mes de marzo. Crystal Skull - Dragons And Steel - Canciones Para Una Vida

DRAGONS  AND  STEEL

Crystal Skull es uno de esos proyectos personales de un solo músico que se encarga de todo, en este caso el grupo tiene detrás al italiano Claudio "The Reaper", que da comienzo a esta aventura en 2007 pero que solo ha editado un LP a fecha de esta reseña, "Ancient Tales" de 2020. En este 2025, y coincidiendo con el treinta aniversario del sello "Underground Symphony" que gusta mucho de apoyar a bandas de power épico fantástico, en muchas ocasiones italianas, Crystal Skull ha sacado una nueva canción, "Dragons and Steel", en la que parece mostrar la intención de un nuevo LP en breve completando la alineación de la banda con otros tres músicos, una canción de la que dejo hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube.

QUEEN  OF  MY  SALVATION

Vamos con otro poco de heavy metal de la vieja escuela pero dentro de este siglo, en ese resurgimiento que en la última decada ha tenido este estilo a nivel global. The Storyteller es otra de esas bandas que han hecho durante mucho tiempo las cosas bien pero a la que la fama o el reconocimiento general no ha ido acorde a sus méritos, quizá su falta de continuidad sea una de las claves para ese resultado ya que desde luego por calidad no se les puede echar en cara nada a estos suecos. Ya llevaban desde 2015 sin publicar material de estudio, toda una década de silencio que ahora rompen con "The final stand", cuya salida oficial a la venta será el 25 de abril y del que han dejado ya un adelanto, "Fields of blood and steel", del que dejo un enlace a youtube.

SEA  OF  LIES

Los estadounidenses Symphony X son otra de esas grandes bandas dentro del nicho sonoro del power pogresivo, una banda que ha alcanzado un estatus elevado por méritos propios que se plasman a lo largo de su discografía. El grupo se forma en 1994 que es el mismo de su debut en formato LP, desde entonces un total de nueve LP's forman su discografía, y a pesar de que oficialmente siguen en activo llevan toda una década sin sacar un disco nuevo. Powerdream - Hell Ride - Canciones Para Una Vida

HELL  RIDE

Powerdream, otra banda de las que se van buscando la vida, unida a un nombre, en este caso al uruguayo SantyDark Jett, enmarcando el sonido del proyecto en un heavy power, con un aire electrónico y ochentero como puede apreciarse incluso en la estética de la portada. Powerdream comienza a publicar material en 2022, y desde entonces dos EP's y dos LP's  conforman su discografía. Avantasia - Here Be Dragons - Canciones Para Una Vida

HERE  BE  DRAGONS

En esta nueva obra de Avantasia, "Here be dragons" de este 2025, la décima de la banda de Sammet se puede intuir más que en otras a mi parecer una mezcla entre la identidad sonora de los propios Avantasia pero además la de Edguy en no pocos momentos. El disco también es de esos que he ido disfrutando más a medida que he ido escuhandola veces, es un disco completo, con matices y merec la pena prestarle atención. Hoy quiero dejar en el blog otra de sus canciones, en concreto la que da nombre a la obra, un gran tema en que colabora otra de esas magnificas voces del metal, el universal Geoff Tate, uno de los mejores cantantes que ha dado este mundo sin ningún lugar a dudas, que si une sus capacidades vocales a las compositivas de Sammet solo puede dejar pura magia, dejo en el blog hoy un enlace a youtube de este "Here be dragons".

Grave Digger - Killing Is My Pleasure - Canciones Para Una Vida

KILLING  IS  MY  PLEASURE

Claro está que Grave Digger es uno de los grandes grupos clásicos que ha alcanzado ese estatus por méritos propios y por su contundente e insistente carrera, una de esas bandas que ha atravesado por fases pero siempre ha resultado absolutamente reconocible en sus propuestas compositivas. En este 2025 han publicado su vigésimo segundo disco de estudio, "Bone Collector" con un claro sabor clásico, alejandose de los arreglos o las propuestas adornadas para ejecutar su propia versión más cruda en una onda de heavy metal de la vieja escuela a la que ellos pertenecen e hicieron crecer. Defenders Of The Faith - Darkside Brigade - Canciones Para Una Vida

DARKSIDE  BRIGADE

Nuevo proyecto a la vista que inicia su andadura en este 2025 desde la perspectiva de la publicación de material, se trata de "Defenders of the faith", simbólico nombre para una banda que promete  centrar su sonido en el heavy metal de la vieja escuela ochentero, así pues escoger el título de un disco clásico de una banda clásica para nombrar al grupo no puede ser mayor declaración de intenciones. Detrás de este proyecto sueco está la banda Therion, que ha visto la ocasión para dar salida a material en ese sentido que no cabe en su banda madre. El debut llevará por título "Odes to the gods" y nos dejan ya un adelanto bajo el título "Darkside Brigade" del que dejo un enlace a youtube de su clip oficial.

Helloween - Wake Up The Mountain - Canciones Para Una Vida

WAKE  UP  THE  MOUNTAIN

Repasemos por enésima vez la extensa e importante carrera de los germanos Helloween, otro de esos pilares fundamentales para entender el todo en su conjunto, sobre todo en este caso el power metal. Hoy de nuevo quiero centrarme en la era Deris, en lo que al apartado vocal se refiere, con la segunda obra de estudio de la banda con Andi a la voz. Se trató de "The time of the oath", de 1996, que debía consolidar a la nueva alineación de Helloween y su enfoque compositivo, y vaya si lo hizo, la crítica siempre acogió bien la obra, y es que está llena de grandes temas, por ejemplo "Wake up the mountain" de la que quiero dejar hoy en el blog un enlace a youtube.
